Lmao... I see where he's coming from. He did his role, only to lose everything and ultimately gain no ground in staving off the evil in the world.
As he said, no matter how many vampires he dispatched there was always more, and more powerful to replace them.
@@Deverik1981 he’s basically Trevor if he lost Sypha and Alucard.

Dude blocked a maul with his forearm and still carries on fighting. What a legend.
I thought maul vampire guy using his bat form to come up behind for a sneak attack after his bro goes in loud from the front with a musket shot and charge was badass as well. They really do animate the fights well and the tactics feel legitimate.
Dawg using Frankenstein spirit from A/DoS to heal that broken arm so quick
From a vampire, nonetheless.
He also used ice on his neck to block that dagger, shit was crazy
I thought vampire are stronger than humans in terms of strength, and since Richter is human, how come he match their strength?
Yes. They made Richter insanely OP like he should be.
"HYDROSTORM!!!"

Literally goosebumps hearing this Divine Bloodlines rendition and having Richter finally putting on his iconic white headband. Seeing the Grand Cross in the blue flame was amazingly
YES!
I heard/read from somewhere that the white band is used in funerals (and well, in Vietnam, where I'm from, that is the same). This series was inspired by the Japanese game series of the same name, so it is most likely correct information. Basically, Richter was giving those blood suckers a funeral by fire lmao.
Came here to say the same thing, got goosebumps with all that. Such a epic scene with the theme song playing too
All that was missing was using hydro storm
I forgot he had it in his pocket. In fact it didn't even register for me that the ribbon the girls gave him was going to be bandanna, so this scene came as a total surprise and it got me hyped af
This scene was incredible, the rising action was genuinely compelling and the need for survival triggering his sense of magic was a beaut. Bloodlines is just fantastic, dude.
when he put on the bandanna/headband I was hyped af lol. there is a sequence in the next episode when he fights the moth Night Creature and he performed the uppercut from the games!

Less survival, more love for his family.
i like how even tho it's a big anime moment you can still tell he's not experienced with magic - which is why he's using it to enhance the fighting skills he's already familiar with. using the ice to block, enhance his hits and create throwable daggers, and using his fire through contact. it's very clever of him considering he did it completely on the spot.
Can’t rely too much on instinct and reflex. Champloo taught us that
I'd say the opposite actually: most magicians shown use their magic as purely long-range weapons to fling at opponents, whereas Richter can incorporate to use in conjunction with his own body seamlessly. His ability to harden his blows, grow armor just large enough to block individual attacks on the fly, and rapidly transition between elements without so much as a hand-wave makes me think he's actually incredibly skilled. Then again, that's just my own interpretation.
Wait a minute. In terms of strength, vampire is stronger than a human, and since Richter is a human, how come he match their strength?
@@martmandred9182He’s a Belmont. They’re a family of superhumans.
@@martmandred9182 same reason as how Trevor fought the death elemental AND LIVED, Belmont are just built different
He is the most powerful one, before Julius eventually is born. The blue flames tell it all, not even Sypha, a master magician, could burn them that hot.
Gotta hand it to Richter. He really took a page out of her great grandma.
Would be cool to make a 3rd series with a young julius in 1999
It's holy fire, I think. But you're not wrong.
It looks more like the same flames that the bishop used last trilogy instead of the colour being an indicator of the flames heat.
I'm thinking if they'll get unique flame colors of each Belmont, Julius' flames would be white. I mean, white flames are known to be hottest known by mankind and shined so bright like how Belmont always be the morning sun that vanquished the night.
Having to wait for a second season of this show is going to be painful......
But goddamn it's gonna be worth it after all of our cliffhangers from Episode 8 get wrapped up
Yup it’s going to be worth the wait at least and I’m kinda mad they left us on a cliffhanger but they’re prob gonna give us the second season next year I think.
@@idk-uv9bs They damn well better!! You can't just give us a finale like and go "Yeah, we're done now".
@@ThoraxetheImpaile100it IS Netflix, so keep that in mind. They do have a reputation.
That being said, I hope we get more than eight episodes next time. That wait and hype for only about three that wasn't just richter crying in a pond.
I do wonder if they're going to have undead Trevor, Sypha, and Grant like in most of the games.
Is Alucard taking him into the Belmont house now located beneath Castlevania? Will we see the Morning Start Whip passed down next season? Will he dual wield like his great great super great grandaddy?
@Deverik1981 As far as some of what transpired in this first season, I'd chalk it up as giving Rickter some character development, something that Trevor arguably didn't get much of outside of season 1. As for seeing the Morning Star again, I feel like that will be more of an Easter egg because if Rickter is as powerful as I hear, (I've only played Lament of Innocence, so I don't know the ins and outs of Castlevania) he's not really gonna need it much if at all.

Trevor walked, so future Belmont’s could run.
Don’t get me wrong, Trevor did some impressive stuff, but after watching this I see why the Belmonts are so renowned as they are in the games.
They’re trained to become hunters of the night, and strike fear in monsters.
Trevor was a kid when he was orphaned and living on his own. Richter couldn't use magic but did learn more about it with his new family
Leon walked so the future Belmonts could run.
Trevor and Sypha created a stronger lineage for future Belmonts. I imagine that having access to the Belmont hold and the knowledge of Dracula had a huge role to play in that
trevor definitely set the bar high for future Belmonts. his impressive feats showcase why the Belmonts are renowned as fearsome monster hunters in the games.
@@SOLDAT_MENDES really? I think Sypha is the one who set the bar high for new future belmonts. Without her bloodline, non of the next Belmont’s would be able to dual both physical weapons and magic together. Trevor on the other hand, was nothing new to the Belmont bloodline since he was a Belmont himself.
Its hard to believe Castlevania's animation could be better, but after watching Nocturne, I can genuinely say they improved
Yeah they rlly did improve the animation is good and didn’t disappoint
The art feels a lot more consistent during the fights as well. While I love the trevor vs death fight, the art at some points looks like it was done in paint, trevor has 4 fingers, no facial details, the morning star loses all flow in animations. I think they really upped the budget for nocturne
there's one part I find they went lazy or just weird direction, the bar fight where he met Jules
@@hraddon7066 I thought it was alright. I was genuinely surprised, cause I thought Richter would be the only living Belmont in this series, but I'll be glad to see some training sessions between Richter and Juste
Maybe have them have a similar relationship to Vesemir and Geralt in Witcher 3
The frame rate animation still bad .... wish a estudio like mad house take projects like this ... but ... FUCKED ! xD
I believe that the power of one's magic is the state of someone's mentality.
He used his magic once to protect the one person he loved and looked up to, and that magic failed him, so he locked it away in his guilt as a means of coping.
That moment is him growing up. Becoming a Belmont, and embracing his pain and sorrow into power when he needed it the most.
I like that.
Though his experience alone is not enough yet. Remember, he only yet to discover his power. Of course some would say this is a "Mary Sue" routine, but wrong. He's been doing magic before. Only reason he stopped and it's gone is because of the guilt of losing his mother. Magic alone and whatever skills he got won't cut it. This is just first season. Richter was only gonna take a first step. But with Alucard returns again, I believe he's gonna learn from him a thing or two.
In the games, you're left to assume that the Belmonts spend generations refining their magic and becoming more powerful. In the games themselves you can see the progression of the Belmonts in how they play. Juste is capable of crashes and spells, but in SOTN, Richter's spells are simply more powerful, varied, and destructive. By the time we get to Julius, the grand cross is improved to the point where it sucks in its surroundings and is has the firey depiction you see in this show.
@@stohehayeah the belmonts are literally just a family that just never fucking stops improving generation by generation.
@@martmandred9182 Richter cant be a Mary Sue when his magic is still so clumsy compared to Sypha and even Tera, who barely fought. He used ice magic as a way to enhance his martial prowess, his flame was short range combustion and the ice shards were used like throwing knives. Compare that to Sypha who used flame to fly, bend ice like clay and set up various traps with her magic.
Alucard is going to be a great Mentor and a good friend to Rictor just like he was with Trevor and Sypha@@martmandred9182
It's that almost dead-eyed "Now, you fucked up" head turn from Richter that absolutely sold the scene. Grand Cross in blue fire? Epic. Richter's scream of apoplectic rage? Flawless. That cold hateful gaze he hands to these vampires before giving them the ass whooping of a lifetime? That was the moment that legit had me jumping out of my seat screaming "Kick Their Asses, Belmont!"
The moment with that stare after the scream and the Grand Cross had all the air of "Oh, look; Punching bags."
Didn't even care he became an OP magician after years of not having used any magic at all. That scene was so fucking badass
When I saw that "holy cross!!" Item crash scene and the "Richter Theme" played..just brings back memories like I first played Dracula X on the SNES. This scene is really badass.

That would be gayer than the actual gay s3x scenes
I got chills when the music started playing.
Same here, I rewatched it like 3 times
I think my heart legit skipped a beat.
Richter has to be my favourite character in this whole show
His dialogue
His personality
His voice acting
His story
Its pretty awesome
Especially his arrogance, recklessness, and hot blooded nature, like in the original game.
Total badass...
La verdad yo sigo prefiriendo a Trevor, pero bueno, Richard también tiene su encanto
He has his arrogant and reckless moments but I for the most part think he's actually the most level headed one in the group. Also like that they show his vulnerable side.
Richter is probably the best of the Belmont line, to be fair. He's easily one of the most powerful, and appears in some of the most beloved of games. Trevor being a close second. Simon really is just kind of lame by comparison.
Man this scene is so awesome. The fighting skill of Trevor, and the magical abilities of Sypha combined into one.
All this power thanks to Trevor rizzing up a speaker😂
Tiny detail I love, before when asked why he doesnt use magic he says "im happy with my whip and knives" but here he loses both, and hes defensless, in the moment of weakness with nothing else left his magic comes back.
1:00 that looks like him casting the Grand Cross or an imperfect version of it. Wonder if it's foreshadowing his eventual use of it in its complete form later
I'm pretty sure the Super Attacks got reimagined in this series. Like how he throws several daggers quickly at Marquis at the Abbey dungeon, reminiscent of the Thousand Edges
@@desmodius205 Nah its likely that he will gain a complete form of it later on, Since Alucard and Juste going to be around to train him now.
Ricther in the games is a Jack of trades of sorts since he spend his entire life training and studying effectively when it comes to magic and whips making him a formidable Belmont. In the Netflix Series I believe he is weaker in comparison to the games because he lack the training to reach his full potential im hoping in Season 2 he gets better and start understanding it better
watch the series, they make an effort to show the least amount of religious figures, for sure they change it.
What I see is this version of Grand Cross is the same Julius Belmont cast it
Divine Bloodlines: (Plays)
Vampires: Why do i hear boss music...? 👀
Funnily, Divine Bloodlines is a boss music in SoTN.
Trevor is looking down proudly at Richter as he punches vampires.
Also I love how all three Belmonts we’ve been introduced to have the same personalities.
“But fuck it.”
“God shits in my dinner again.”
“I’ve got to take a piss.”
they all hv the signature belmont wanker-ness
Combats using magic are usually reserved to throwing elemental objects at the enemy in mainstream media. But Castlevania gave a middle finger to that mainstream trope. A glorious, shining, erect middle finger.
The concept itself is very simple. Speaker magicians can only use fire and ice magic, with electricity being Sypha's own twist post her visit to the Belmont Hold. But the way magic is used by EVERY combatant in this series is just awesome.
And the usage fits their personality too, to boot. Sypha is extremely creative and it shows, using flames as jet propulsion and ice as disc blades or mid-air pedestals. Julia is the practical one, using the elements in what the do best: a flamethrower and icicle darts. Richter augments his fists, as he is, bottom line, a melee fighter. I mean, come on. Ice gauntlets? Burning fists? God this guy's awesome.
The soundtrack for both netflix shows is just astonishing. Loving second remake of the main battle theme.
I teared up hearing the rondo of blood theme. Man overcame his darkness and killed his demons. Absolutely badass
2:24
Having some of Trevor's personality runs in the family too.
Yup
Yeah, he got the Belmont's arrogance like his ancestors and he is also hot blooded. Just like in the original game.
Trevor Belmont, God bless you for giving us the most OP generation of vampire hunters
Technically, we should be thanking Leon Belmont.

Descended from a great lineage, good combat skills, powerful magic, and a cool outfit without a cape. Result: an epic protagonist
When Bloodlines started playing, it was equal to the Bloody Tears scene in the first season. Pure chills

Yet! Give it time. He's just becoming the Richter we all know and love by the end of season 1. They are just getting warmed up.
They won't drop that line on a random Vampire, but it'll probably be the last thing Erzabeth hears.
God the way divine bloodlines starts playing is PERFECT. This is how you make a video game TV show netflix. You don't need to stay loyal to the source materal, you need to stay loyal to the fans.

Where are you Simon?!
Well he is the Strongest physically at least. No magic, but pure Muscle and skills, he is definitely proud of his descendants as seen in Grimoire of Souls.
@@EternalRoman If Super Castlevania 4 is meant to be taken as canon, Simon's sheer technique with the whip is something that is never truly matched even with his more powerful descendants. Talking only about the show, this moment was set up nicely. Episode 1 established his mother had been training him as a speaker magician. At 10 years old he was throwing fire at a vampire. This is finally overcoming his trauma- it made sense while also being glorious.
A few things I notice about the animation that I love during this fight
1:01 the fire forms a cross
1:03 the water around Richter has evaporated
1:31 Richter forms ice around his neck to stop an attack
That *fuck it* line was worthy of Trevor and subsequent obliteration of Sypha. Truly a fist pump moment. Second season cannot come soon enough.
In my opinion this ability of magic given to this version makes more sense in mind to how he never runs out of weapons in the game as they run on hearts which could now be interpreted as the belnades magic being used here.

That was INSANE. Such a fantastic season.
It would have been cool if He said: "Die, Monster. You don't belong in this world."
That initial burst makes me think of his item crashes, which I'm okay with referring to as his magic spells. So sick.
Richter gave six vampires a lesson of “fuck around and find out”, and we’re here for it!
It was also cool this vampire squad were actually competent and threatening. Dominating 2 Belmonts with speed, weapons and tactics was impressive.
Goosebumps when bloodlines came on
Same here. They first masked it with the drums. Dahh dah dah dah dahhhh.....and then after the vampire from the devourer of light cult, tried to bring down his mallet on Richter, the drums evolved into instrumentals.
