    LOVE THIS! Pedro is in my top 5 favorite directors (don't ask me to rank them), and Pedro and Penelope together always make magic. I can't wait to see this. The passion in their films is unparalleled. (Just re-watched Live Flesh two weeks ago and it's still stunning!)

    When Penelope and Antonio Banderas collaborate with Pedro, you know the film will be a home run. Of course, Almodóvar is one of the master filmmakers.
    Even though, "Parallel Mothers" hasn't been released yet, but I'd love to see Penelope nominated for another Oscar. She one of our greats.

    Just saw the movie. It must be one of my favorite Almodovar movies after Volver. Everything in the plot was on point except for one thing (spoiler alert), the part where Janis and Ana sleep together. I didn't see any significance in the plot for them sleeping together 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @manantial773
      @manantial773 Před 2 lety

      The point was that Ana really felt i love, while Janis was using her. Ana was quite toxic and her jealousy made Janis tell her the truth, so it had a very clear point. What really bothered me was the lack of resolution, at least on screen, the elipsis of 3 months was really disappointing to me.

      @marmary5555 Před 2 lety +1

      @@manantial773 yeah but imo you don't need to sleep together to feel jealousy or getting close to someone. And these two women were close already, having met in the hospital beds and having their kids switched at birth (unbeknownst to Ana, but still). I thought their sexual relationship and sexual closeness was meaningless and kinda disappointing. I would have rather seen them as friends, not fuck buddies 😒

      @@marmary5555 yes I too felt the same. That felt very sudden and almost abrupt. Literally that was the only part of the film I disliked. Other than that it's a masterpiece all together. 4.5/5

      @@marmary5555 you have to admit with the Janis Joplin song playing it was hot. I just watched the film for the 3rd time it makes more sense to me now they slept together. Ana really idolised her and Janis felt so close to her. At the end of the film they are close again when you find out Janis is pregnant again.
