I feel she is being honest, I don't think she feels a victim at all. It's true that she was sometimes stereotyped, but she had a bunch of good roles too, and she has been really successful.

This is so inspiring. As a huge fan of Pedro Almodovar, she is exceptional in every one of his films, and I can't wait to see this new one. How ironic that both she and Javier Bardem were in his 1997's Live Flesh but never shared scenes together (one of his most underrated not-talked-about films) only to meet on Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona, which may be the most sensual film Allen ever made. Her Oscar was well-deserved but I'm glad she's back in her native Spain. She just gets better with age.

Well actually Penelope and Javier filmed togheter Jamón Jamón, and some secuences of the film (some very pasional) are an icon in spanish film industry.

"Vanilla Sky" is an 2001 remake of "Open Your Eyes" a 1997 Spanish film. Both movies having Penélope Cruz playing the same character in both films. One has Tom Cruise in the male lead role "Vanilla Sky" and the other has Eduardo Noriega also playing the the same character in "Open Your Eyes". I watched both films back to back, it was a interesting experience and Cruz is great in both films.

Parallel Mothers looks like a fascinating movie. It is hard to believe that she has been around for so long, and that she is a few years younger than me.

Over the years, Cruz has gotten better and better, not only with age, but as an actress, and has rightfully become one of the best in the business. Great actress! Even though, 'Parallel Mothers' hasn't been released yet, but I'd love to see Penelope nominated for another Oscar this year. She made the best decision to continue to make films in Spain. Instead of being typed cast as the "Sexy Latina" here in the States, she's able to get better quality roles in Latin America. Only wish Salma Hayek would make the same move.
The spanish cinema might be richer than the mexican one but indeed salma could try working in spain like her.

Madrid comes across as so "small time" in this clip. "Oh it looks as though she downgraded from Hollywood." As if Hollywood is such an important place to be. Madrid is 100 times more of a beautiful livable thriving city than Los Angeles can ever dream to be. I'm sure that in 100 years from now, LA will still be a shambles, with maybe 2 or 3 new metro lines, congested traffic, a handful of rich people, homeless galore, and a few quirky restaurants and cafe's here and there.
The city , thhe food the ppl the music everything about is beautiful, and simple the perfect combination 👌. Madrid is a dream place to be.
