3,000 grand speakers and here I am on CZcams listening on a $3 earphone from China(remax 515). Thumbs up mate for allowing even those who cannot presently afford this speaker to really appreciate it as the marvel in sound engineering that it is, thumbs up

Finally got a gold phantom.
( First devialet product) .
Thoughts:
The bass, ( everything in your house shakes and rattles, even in low volume, but the speaker itself doesn't move at all is just crazy) if you are deaf like Beethoven, you can still hear the base .
The sales person showed me a crazy expensive tower speaker( B&W 802D4 ) which is 10 times more expensive than gold phantom. And the Phantom sounds very similar.
Also no CZcams video/ audio can really demonstrate the power of the speaker.

The Copenhagen still is a very nice speaker.
But maybe you should sell it now because there is a second version coming soon!
But if you want the best just buy any of the Phantoms and you'll he happier than with any speaker you had before.

As I said months ago, the silver is lack luster at best. The gold obviously wasn't rushed to market and sounds as a small sized $3000 should. Can you link both up in stereo.? I believe you need some fancy device they sell to do that unfortunately. I bet it does sound great for its size form factor but bring that over to your uncle's house and you'll see that one can't over rule the law of physics regarding size. Good job getting a hold of one of these bad boys!😁

The Phantoms really are the only small speakers which don't die in that room, haha.

How do u get 4500watts from a 15amp 120v line... Is it standard in Europe to run 50amp wall power?
could you please think about making a comparison between gold phantom and sonos play 5? of course there is a big price difference but they are both meant to be use at home, and there isn't an enormous size difference
Lorenzo Monduzzi I already tried the Sonos some time ago and I won't buy it again I think.
But I can tell you that the Sonos is no comparison whatsoever.
Even two Sonos Play:5s will have a hard time coming close to the Phantom.
Speaker Toni i own a vifa copenhagen and i am absolutely in love with it. is there so much difference between the vifa and the phantom? Of course phantom has more power and more powerful and deep bass, but the copenhagen still has wonderful bass... and mids and treble are just perfect, refined and there is a good stereo separation too. I wrote to vifa, and they claimed the copenhagen to produce 115 db at 1 meter distance. Devialet claims 108 i think... strange. I use the copenhagen both at home and outdoors, but do you thing it worths replacing the vifa with the gold phantom?

Nick yes, I had to give it back and no it doesn't have any hiss in my case.
The Silver Phantom did have hiss but the gold on doesn't have it at all.
Maybe the Silver Phantom also needed an update to fix the hiss, not sure.

Devialet claims the Gold starts from 14Hz. Of course they don't quote at what dB loss (so probably @ -20dB or something hehe). Did you measure that claim yourself and checked what is the truth please?
What is the lowest frequency they play at -3dB which is the best indication and industry standard???

I have a really good subwoofer from Eve Audio (TS112) which is regarded as a really good sub and it's reaches.....21Hz @-3dB and it's a dedicated active bass speaker (subwoofer) from professional market and it goes down to 21Hz @ -3dB so I am wondering how it is possible for Gold to reach to 14Hz.

The gold phantom has crisper treble and more composed sound. Silver sounds muffled.

This thing is great, but in my eyes, it's not quite $3000 dollars great. I have a couple medium of the line studio monitors in my room, paired with a car sub I bought for cheap, and built a box for. I found an old Sony sub in my garage that blew, so I cut the magnet off of the back and repurposed it as a passive radiatior for it. I did a frequency response test on it, and it is a very accurate system, with bass reaching down to around 18Hz without any kind of distortion. The whole system cost me about $1500.
I also have a makeshift 4.0 surround in there that doesn't sound anywhere close to as good.
Too bad you can’t get it without the 22k gold plating which has nothing to do with the sound quality yet makes it expensive. I mean is the silver one silver plated lol which would constantly tarnish .
i prefer the old 1. 😂 500 more is not a good deal considering the only changes i think is the loudness and the equalization 😂
porto42 it has a lot more resolution, is 50% louder and sounds more transparent than the Silver one

Wenn du guten Klang magst und Design zweitrangig ist gibt es für 5000 Euro / Paar akustisch bessere Lautsprecher. Die sind war dann größer, schwerer und sehen nicht so toll aus, legen aber in Sachen Hochtonauflösung und Bassfundament noch ne Schippe drauf :). Bei Devialet zahlt man halt verhältnismäßig viel für Aussehen und kompakte Abmaße.
airwolf1337 das stimmt nur halb, unterschätzte die Kraft vom Phantom nicht.
Wenn es um Höhen, Auflösung und Stereobühne geht ist bereits jedes gute System ab 3000€ überlegen.
Aber wenn es um den Gesamtklang, sowie den Druck besonders bei sehr hohen Lautstärken geht, versagt so gut wie jedes System, was nicht perfekt abgestimmt ist, wenn man es mit dem Phantom vergleicht.
Ich habe schon viele gute Systeme mit dem Phantom verglichen und obwohl jedes dieser Systeme sehr gut klang mussten sie sich spätestens wenn man ein Rock Track gespielt hat gegen den Phantom geschlagen geben.
Die beiden Woofer vom Phantom sind zusammen deutlich über 30cm gross und stehen damit anderen Kompaktboxen in nix nach, mit dem neuen Hochtöner kann der Phantom sogar fein auflösen, aber natürlich kann er trotzdem einfach wegen des Konzepts nicht mit einem Stereosystem mithalten wenn es um Auflösung usw geht.
Es wird sicher Systeme geben die besser sind als der Phantom, aber so eins zu finden wird sehr schwer denn bisher haben alle spätestens im Bassbereich verloren...

Speaker Toni Heheh, I use the Z-series. Pretty damn good though battery life is kinda short compared to my previous, ancient Phonak ones.
To me bass means anything from 1hz to 30 hz. That gothic rumbling pipe organ bass.
TruAgape1234 bass describes anything from 16-256hz anything other than that is a tone and no bass. At least in theory.

You can detect them. People pay big money for the powerful subs that go way below 20hz. Take the rotary subwoofer for example. www.cnet.com/news/worlds-most-amazing-subwoofer-has-no-woofer/. And supposedly we cannot hear over 20khz but as u saw in this video the higher freq response of the gold definitely improved the sound. The same is true on the low end too.

Noisy, out of control bass? What do u mean? If those Alphards have the potential to produce bass at very high spl's that's a good thing. It means that should a listener ever demand such power, it can deliver. That's never a bad thing.
