Thanks for doing that comparison Toni. No big surprise here. The Phantom is in a totally different class, price wise and application wise. The Phantom is louder with deeper base and good clean sound, the Aiwa is portable and you can rock out the campground or park with it and in that environment, the Phantom looses as it needs to be plugged in. For the price the Aiwa is a steal.

Infrasonic generators are such a gimmick. You can buy an actual infrasonic generator alone for cheaper and pair it with much better speakers like the LS50s and still save money over the phantom.
The reason why they refer to the phantom as "emotional sound" is because infrasonic sound only happens in nature during disasters like earthquakes and hurricanes so they naturally "thrill" you with terror
It's the same type of trick as bringing a girl to a scary movie or in a roller coaster to artificially stimulate an emotional rise and thus a connection
Its not comparable and this is the silver speaker so it's 1600 and clearly way more punch. Aiwa stands no chance.

@Speaker Toni Did you have the Aiwa EQ maxed out on all levels? You didn't show the EQ in the video, I'm guessing you did but just curious because the bass on the Aiwa can be non-existent if not set up.
I got the gold one for my bday from my fiancee she uses it more then I do lol.. it's a amazing Bluetooth system it's crazy that it sounds the way it does. It weights 15 pounds or so not real big but has a massive bass sound to it

If you have a speaker for 20$ and one for 100$ the improvement will be huge but if you have a speaker for 1000$ and one for 5000$ the improvement won't be that big.

the Devialet is amazing for its size, but at that price you can get both an outdoor speaker and an indoor one that can both perform better than the Phantom.

Why does the Phantom has 3000 Watts elektrical output power? And what kind of power is it? Sinuspower? Rms ? Continous Power? I mean, my hifi system has got two times 115 Watts at 20 hz to 20000 hz at 0,09%. And it is pretty loud at maximum volume. What does the Phantom do with the 3000 Watts?
i own an Aiwa exos 9 so im not neutral here. the Phantom won by sooo much! it is incredible BUT! The Aiwa was very very impressive aswell in my view. i mean think about it? it costs soo much less and even has mire features + being battery powered :)

Hi Toni, what EQ settings did you use for both devices? If you should compare the Phantom to the Diamondboxx will that be the XL version as it supposed to be 960 watts as opposed to AIWA at 200?

Well let's be fair here. . The test would be hard to tell because the XL is wireless portable and the Phantom isn't which is why it gets its power from the wall. Because the Phantom can't produce its own power source is worthless. Notice how when you plug a portable speaker into a wall socket and it bring out more power output to the speaker for it to perform louder. I wonder what's the power with its own power source without having to plug it in for it to play. . Good question huh 😂
In this case Diamondboxx has already won because they are more portable than the Phantom. Without the Phantom having to be plugged in it has no power lol. Still good speaker 🔊 but not not a fair video

The Diamondboxx has won because it is a lot louder. Iam very curious to test the XL version as I've just seen one video about it and it didn't distort at all at max. But Iam assuming that it doesn't sound really good on normal levels and that it rather is some kind of PA system.

Egal, du solltest ihn dir auf jeden Fall kaufen, ein Oslo ist da überhaupt gar keine Konkurrenz.
Der Phantom ist einfach das beste was du gerade bekommen kannst.
Der Hochtön ist sehr schön und genau auf Vifa Niveau, genauso wie die Mitten. Und das ist etwas sehr positives, da Vifa die mit Abstand besten Mitten und Höhen liefert.
Also ganz ganz klare Kaufempfehlung von mir, der Phantom wird dich vom Hocker hauen;)

Das ist es ja, der Phantom verzerrt garantiert nie. Du kannst ihm die heftigsten Aufnahmen geben und es wird keinerlei Verzerrung geben.

I would love to hear the Devialet Phantom playing some Dubstep,in my opinion with these high powered bass speakers Dubstep is the way to go,only then will you appreciate what they can do.
What's the rms on the devialet? Does it have any hiss or Bluetooth noise?
Nick at the first volume step there is a very slight hiss but it's ok.
RMS should be about 400-600 watts.
The Aiwa EXOS is a no-brainer for great portable sound in any room, and with it's built-in battery and portability, it's an even bigger champ on the road.
The devialet should be two. Also the symetric placement of the woofers cancels out much floor contact. The box as whole doesn't vibrate. Canceling contact noice to neighbours. And the pc I use as stand for one of them.

the Devialet Phantom silver sounds nice, but for 4500 watts, it sounds awful, the Aiwa exos-9 is putting out about 200 watts and compares very close, since the aiwa only has one 6.5 inch subwoofer, but the Phantom has two 7.5 inch subwoofers. If Devialet tried to make the Phantom portable it would make the same mistake as Harman Kardon with extremely short battery life. So in MY opinion, the Aiwa is more convenient.
This is the Silver Phantom. not the Gold.

Well I so wish that I could contact team Aiwa and ask them to send me one of their Expos 9 with a few other parts and get you an unit that will beat the crap out Devialet...for good! I have studied audio for so many years and even found a way to generate more bass from a 6 1/2 inch woofer than what you could hear from a 10 inches woofer from Cerwin Vega ...and guess what? The price of the new Aiwa wouldn’t even be close from the $3000.00 of the Devialet....and finally I can tell you that the Aiwa has NOT been set to reach it’s full potential and that’s the main reason why it is so affordable compare to the Devialet . So the way to correct the situation would be to give the amplifier a proper 24 volts with an appropriate amperage and some batteries that will be more than 12 volts and you won’t believe your ears....trust me!!!

Bruh. This Exos-9 operates with a 15600MAh Li-ion Battery @ 22V. That's close enough to the usual 24V, and even if it was 2 Volts more, where wouldn't be much of a difference in loudness as there wouldn't be much more power added, and that extra bit of power would only add like +1Db efficiency. Completely worthless.
Also, if you were to push those drivers with a 24V battery, and then crank it to max volume, you would end up bottoming them out, and potentially blow them eventually.
Getting another Exos-9 to pair with will bring an additional +6Db, and that is basically the pinnacle of what you can get with the product loudness-wise. The extended battery accessory won't make it any louder, only add double the battery life. Period.
you can get a cheap active pa speaker for less than $300 that would beat both the aiwa and the devialet (in volume)..

Speaker Toni Yeah on that speaker it is going to be the loudest the speaker can go continuously, but there are ones that do go even louder but less portable.. The phantom does have wayyy better sound quality though so unless you need volume the phantom would be better :)
PA speakers have no deep bass. It's easy to make a loud speaker.
For $3000 you could have a real stage PA system and blast at rock concert levels (120db).
Victor Johnson this is just a speaker for audiophiles for critical listening and its really small for the loudness and punch it gives but i agree a PA System is cheaper and way louder.

I see a lot of people saying try comparing more aiwa vs 1 phantom to match the pricing. Most of you guys saw it the wrong way. My friend have the same view as you guys. He wanted to buy the Naim Muso, and he said for 1 gold phantom you can get 2 Naim Muso. I told him you are looking it the wrong way like the rest of you. How you should look at it is the other way around. For example from the situation with my friend:
1 Naim Muso/Half price of Gold Phantom/450 watt
1 Phantom Gold = 2 Naim Muso in price. But 1 Phantom Gold, 4500 watt = Naim Muso,450 watt x 10
So basically to compare, it should be price/performance, then you will see the advantage of the Phantom.

people keep saying 10 aiwa = 1 phantom silver. which is wrong.
Silver Phantom is $2400.
Aiwa exos 9 is $300
so for pricing, you get 8 Aiwa Exos 9 for 1 Silver Phantom. So lets compare watt performance
1 Aiwa is 200 watt x 8 = 1600 watt total
1 Silver Phantom = 3000 watt.
So you still lose to actual performance even if you bring in 8 Aiwa.
And if none of you guys have heard the Phantoms in person should go and listen to it. and not sitting/standing right in front of it and listen. You should find a big shop that also allows you to blast the thing however loud you want. And then you will understand the massive performance of the phantom. I tried all 3, white, silver and gold. My opinion of the experience, it will blow you away. I blasted the thing is a huge electronic shop, and I mean huge (the size of a hotel lobby) large open space. and the gold phantom that i tried filled the whole shop lot with music and more. People started to go into the shop and tried to find out where the music was coming from.
And also look how small the phantom is and how portable it is, 8 aiwa x a aiwa exos 9 is not very portable and to make the phantom portable you can buy that big powerbank from anker and plug the phantom in to that and its still more portable than 8 aiwa’s and you can only pair 2 aiwa’s. Plus the Phantom is also completely flat in tuning and is for every type of music.

because is part of the ecuation the other part is the efficiency of the speaker which is the ability to conver that power in to sound
The hell with the silver Phantom that thing cost way too much money just to have a little bit more of a mid-bass punch I have a exos 9 I bought that instead of a JBL Boombox when I went to the store to listen to the JBL Boombox the demo sounded trash for $500 the JBL Boombox is really a piece of crap for $500 so I went with the exos-9 and I'm happy I'm going to buy a second one soon.

A 200 watts aiwa almost beats the 4000 watt divialet. Wow divialet must be lying about watts. Pair 2 aiwa together so 400 watts for aiwa then retest to 4000 watt divialet. Aiwa with 400 watts will beat divialet at 4000 watts.

The Devialet Silver Phantom never has 3000w, the chassis would just burst with REAL 3000w, I guess its more like AT MAX 200-300w. Even 3000w Peak would be to much, but people still fall for it, because they Think More Watts = it is louder, which is total bullshit.

If you put 100 watts instead of 10 watts into a speaker with 85db efficiency it’ll get louder

Speaker Toni Speaker Toni I watched the video in its entirety. Still think an unfair comparison. Maybe you should have done the test against the Diamondboxxx XL with the $1700 price tag. That would be more in the same class and closer to the price point. I can't afford either unit . But the Aiwa Ecos 9 is more within my budget. Can't beat the price and the performance for $300 bucks.
