Impressive locomotive product review, these are fantastic detail premier quality gp30 models, if I decide to purchase any of these for myself it will likely be UP, Rio Grande or C&NW. It is great to see that Scaletrains has finally produced a 4 axle older emd diesel model from the 1960s era.

That's worth investing money into ho locomotive's with DCC n sound technology I've been looking for this for years and in early 2000 is when it became available for ho n o scale n gar scale locomotives steam n diesel
You know... I wasn't all too impressed with the sound from these units. Great units in general, but the sound was just not there. I definitely will check those speakers out!
@@modelrailroadingthesouthwest I'd like to know where the speaker is located? I don't see it anywhere. I most manufacturers locomotives, the speaker is in plain view and can be easily removed. If I have to take apart the weights or whatever around the motor to get to a speaker I'll just stay with the factory speaker. I do have Scale Sound Systems speakers in all of my Atlas locomotives........easy changes.
@@tomjohnson6026 I don’t know where the speaker is located on the GP30. On the ET44 and the SDL39 all you need to do is take a few bolts off the speaker housing and it will remove easily. I will see if I can remove the shell on mine and I will try to get back to you as I am curious about the same.

I totally understand. I think some engines are ugly too. This one is a little special because it is the first GP30B unit to be produced in plastic.
