Another version of the EMD GP30 from Scale Trains. Not only the A unit, but also a B unit in this spotlight, and boy are they both amazing!
From the Scale Trains website: A new era continues with the Rivet Counter HO Scale EMD GP30. First introduced in 1961, the GP30 would become one of the most-common locomotives on the rails for the next two decades. Our first run includes classic roadnames and paint schemes from railroading’s golden age - and versions available for the first time in plastic - like Union Pacific’s Freight and Passenger B Units or CSX "RDMT" Slugs.
Our Rivet Counter series model renders the numerous variations of cabs, dynamic brakes, doors, grilles, trucks, etc. We’ve also incorporated LED lighting effects including front, rear, and side walkway lights; ground lights; printed and lighted number boards; and ditch lights.

B units did have hostler controls to move around engine facilities or in emergencies. Nice review!

Hi. Boy are Scale Trains amazing. Fun people too. If I were still into HO I’d have several. Even so.. I’ve been tempted even though we no longer have an HO layout. But they are art!

Very well detailed and attractive looking gp30 models, I personally like and want to purchase the UP, C&NW, and the Rio Grande examples of the gp30 the most as I think these are fantastic models & I need to save up my $$ for these units asap.

John, Have you seen the NS slug #892 ? Itis amazing with that oversized hump for dynamic braking. Also NS No. 4721 special "green technology" and it's motorless slug No. 653. No cooling fans except one up top in the center location. Super cool stuff.

Hi John, they do look good. It makes me want to switch to US rolling stock (not). Better than stay alive, keep track clean. 😉 Nicely done video, Rob
