Love that Dolly couldn't stop having more sheep, since Dolly the sheep, back in the 90s, was the first living animal to ever successfully be cloned!
this is why they were rivals in love
and then proceeds to make Jolene, god sake, whoever came up with that was genius!
Tl;dr: Dolly wasn’t the first cloned animal, not by a long shot but she still represented important, significant advances
Not to be that guy, but Dolly wasn’t the first living animal ever cloned. She wasn’t even the first SHEEP ever cloned-she was the third. But she WAS the first **mammal** cloned from an **adult somatic cell** as opposed to previously cloned mammals which had all been cloned from embryonic cells. This was significant because it showed you didn’t need embryonic stem cells to clone a mammal.
The first animal ever cloned was a tadpole in 1952, though some sources claim that a sea urchin was cloned in the late 1800s, and numerous other animals were cloned between 1952 and Dolly in 1996.

My ex, bless his wee cotton socks, used to name his animals after the meals they would become. Horned Beef was a popular one. Anyway, you should name a sheep Mutton.

😂 Poor Dolly does a great job only for Jolene to come round and take her ram. I'm a fan of whoever suggested the name Jolene for Dolly's first lamb.
I've some cousins who raise up piglets every year -- they name them Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. I think these are common names for livestock as they serve as a constant reminder that you bought these animals for food, not pets.

"Lamby" is what i named a sheep stuffy when i was little, so I'd claim that as my favorite sheep name, next to Beep Beep
My favorite is probably the Jolene and Dolly pair but I also like beep because that was my suggestion and I’m glad people enjoyed it :)
I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it yet, but the 'servings' of wool that have been freshly shorn are called fleece, but I always just refer to them as CLUMPS 😆
I always name my sheep after different kinds of fabric. First sheep is named Wool, second is Silk, etc

Wooloo and Mareep after two great and adorable pokemon. If I have sheep in stardew I always name them Wooloo or Mareep or if I have three the third would be flaaffy (Mareep's evolution)

You know leap, licking sheep is a great way to keep them warm in the winter without having to get a heater. Additionally, the sheep love it! It’s one of the highlights of their sheep lives

I keep naming my farm animals after characters from other video games, particularly Mass Effect. So I call my sheep Shepard after Commander Shepard, with the bonus of it being a bit of a pun.

I'm going to tweak your question just a little bit and tell you about my favourite sheep. So My gf is a real life sheep farmer and she has a couple of sheep on her own, one of them's name is Helen and she loves hugs, kisses and pets. She is my favourite and I love her so SO much (don't tell the other sheep in her flock though about me playing favourites, they can't know that Helen always gets some extra pellets from me, that would mean chaos).
They already know and they're plotting Helen's downfall.
