I feel so sorry for Angel Dust. A victim of abuse, both from the industry he's in, and from his boss who he can contractually never leave. He acts like a jerk and is overly sexual as a coping mechanism, to feel like he's still in control. I don't think he just agreed to stay at the hotel to get away from him, I think he really wants to be redeemed enough to go to Heaven, because it's the only way he knows to escape. He deserves so much better than Valentino.

But the issue I think Will come in the future is that he will not be abble to go to Heaven because of the contract he have with Valentino

Anyone who knows anyone who has been treated like a sex object or known someone who is part of the industry understands what this video means.
Angel leans into his sexy persona because thats what he thinks hes good for.
When he feels hes losing attention, he feels worthless. No one wants to be treated like a sex object but when the whole world treats you like that.. you feel thats the only thing that makes you matter, you fear being worthless.
Anyone who is angry at this has never been a sex object, they never been abused by a job, or an industry or exploitative company for profit. They never been poor and taken advantage of physically, sexually or money wise.
Anyone who says this glamorizes ones suffering doesnt auctually matter becuase they never been through this type of abuse. You can look like you are doing great on the surface but that doesnt mean you not drowning in misery when you come home every night.
The glamorous Pop performance on top of clips of depression shows contrast to what the world sees vs whats really going on with you. People see servers smile and be polite, they dont see the stressed out kitchen cook, the stressed waiters and bartenders.
There is always another side of the story and people are upset Vizzie pop showed the other side of the story. Why do so many celeberties die from overdose.
These people are often suffering and no one gets that. Even people who tend to be flirty might have learned to get by that way but it doesnt mean they chose to be treated like a sex object.
They often were often sexualized and just adapted to "I am a sex object, guess ill own it". Which is a horrible rationalization but many people rationalize thier abuse. It doesn't mean the abuse stops being abuse.
It means they adapted to being abused and learned to survive and thats the messed part of society we try to cover up. No one cares about the people suffering because they don't exist.
They simply see a pop video. They dont see the clips of that person drinking themselves too death, strung out on drugs, crying themselves to sleep.
Well said, very well said! Why do people always assume when they see even the slightest of abuse they always think their glorifying it. Probably for two reasons: They've never been in an abusive relationship, and because it makes them uncomfortable. But it's supposed to make you feel uncomfortable, you're supposed to feel bad for Angel and what he's going through, and it shows you how much Valentino is a piece of shit.
Poor Angel Dust. I feel so sad for him especially in Episode 4, at least Husk is there for him and I think they both deserve a hug.🥺😌
I hope they find a way to break that contract . Angel deserves to be free .

Poor Angel Dust. He deserves better than what that that monster Valentino puts him through. I honestly hope when the next Extermination comes, Valentino is one of the first to be exterminated.
Side Note: I’m liking the newfound friendship between Angel and Husk.
As someone who hyper sexualizes themself and has ruined themself a before the song poison and loser baby hits so close and feels so comforting to see that Viv didn’t joke about it and did her best to represent it! I hope she dose continue doing well with this show!!

I don't really see the issue? Like yes...Angel went through that scene and I felt very uncomfortable watching, but. I'm very glad they made it. They didn't make any jokes about it. They portrayed it very realistically. Plus...I think Viv actually went through this herself? Which is why he's Vivs favourite character

I feel like its is complicated to actually understand it. Some peaple feel unconfterble with the scenes that Angel is being SA and with the whole nariteve of the storyboard artist that ships Val with Angel makes it even worse.
For me I feelt confuse to understand how Angel feel about the situation because he is often seen smiling in the clip, so you get lost by the mensege and feeling of the character.
I would never think about your interpretetion and thats what some peaple need to see.
Its alot of context to be honest, Im lost, but maybe showing SA in the clip just is unecessary, and maybe the whole thing wouldn't have happend 😭

I think the portrayal of Angel’s abuse and his inside struggle was done well, but what I think was written poorly was the entire arc of Angel’s “redemption.” Everyone at Hazbin Hotel is victim-blaming him and saying he needs to be “redeemed,” as if it’s his fault that he’s stuck in a sexually abusive relationship with Valentino. Yeah, Angel comes off as conceited at first and annoying. But the entire premise of his arc in the show is that he’s in hell for that and a “sinner” for it? And for coping with it through drugs and sex? I think Vizziepop had the right idea, I think she may have missed the bigger picture of what she’s implying about addicts. She’s basically painting the picture that that addiction is a sin and that the addict needs “redemption.” Addicts don’t need redemption, that’s what 12-Step programs teach so you bury your shame and relapse so you “keep coming back” to donate every meeting. Addicts need help, and not in the form that Husk gives him. Their situations are NOT the same. Husk put himself in his situation - Angel did not. Addiction is not a choice - it’s a disease, and it needs treatment, not “redemption.” I think the show had catchy songs and cute, entertaining animation and dynamic characters, but in its most important aspect - the writing - failed. I think there was a lot of potential with this show and I think if Vizziepop thought through what she was writingn a little more she could have nailed it. I’m hoping she recognizes this mistake and fixes it with season 2 (if it gets a second season), and I hope all of the characters realize where they went wrong in victim-blaming Angel. *That* would be impactful, because it would show that it’s *society* that needs to change their view on addiction, not the addict. The addict knows what addiction is. And I hope she changes it so that the characters are no longer looking for “redemption“ and to get into “Heaven,” but to accept their situations and work with them to create a better, collective society in Hell.

Im sorry but this isnt even why the fans are upset. The problem is that Vivziepop hired someone who drawn and fetished Angel and Vals relationship to storyboard this episode. Which this lead people to think that Viv supported his actions.
I mean, everyone can have their fetish, if we are going to blame each person with a good fetish, that the storybord person has done that good thing, but nothing to do with it, they are just looking for a reason to get angry with Vivian
