- how to make a Swedish torch with a difference.
By using natural materials one can make a Swedish torch. Modern stoves and alcohol burners are awesome but having the skill to make a stove out of available natural materials endures your survival when you run out of modern fuel. Anything can happen in the wilderness and in a survival situation these skills can aid you. It’s not only a stove but a slow burning heater that can be used for cooking and heating.
I used wire to strap the three logs together but you could resort in using vibes, routs or any other binding materials. One could also burry the lower part of the logs to keep them together. By notching the logs on top you allow for the flames to breath and a natural pot stand is created.
Bushcraft is about being resourceful and having the ability to rely on what nature can offer. Fatwood is a good fuel to start the log burner enduring a good hot flame. Once you got the core well lit and the flame rising through the Center of the logs you sure to get a good heat that will last you for over half an hour.
Really enjoyed this video. Very relaxing. Great seeing you putting so much time into it all. Many thanks for sharing. 👍 Ben
Thank you Ben this was done on Remembrance Day and I decided to do a silent video for that reason
These are really fun to make! Great stuff 👍🏽
Thanks for the comment hope you have a awesome new year 💪
I’ve made a variation of this but I will try this sucker out for sure
Great video
I do love a sweedish fire torch, never seen one using this method of a pot holder and the way you created the air gap in the middle. Great job.
Thank you, I made one the day before shooting this video, and decided to improve the technique so this was the result
Good stuff! You got my support. Always wanted to do more outdoors stuff. Cool channel.
Thanks 💪
Wow, amazing...will be sharing this with a teacher friend of mine who teaches outdoor education to teenagers...I think that is something they would really like to do..thanks so much for sharing, stay well, and have a great week...
Thank you so much for the comment and it’s awesome to hear that the video is useful to someone 💪
Brilliant. Great wee film, think I will have a go myself! Cheers. Paul
Thanks Paul 💪
Nice knife!
You just burnt a work of art... very nice 👍 great job!
Thank you, burning things is a habit I got, when I carve a spoon around the fire it usually get added to the fire once I done carving. My camp m8ts don’t get it but I got enough spoons and it’s about the experience in carving not the end product. Thanks for watching and the comment 💪
Nice one Alex. Liked the slow mo.
Thank you buddy
Perfect will defo give some thing like that a go when out in the woods
Atb

Thank you and wishing you a awesome week back 💪
@@BeeOutdoors A pleasure. Yeah should be good. Peace dude.
that was most impressive i take it burn time will depend on the different types of wood
Yes you right, this was pine and I got just over half an hour.
bloody brilliant that mate definitely one for people to try :)
Thanks buddy I really enjoyed doing this one.
@@BeeOutdoors it looked like you did. I have a video somewhere of me doing something similar but as elaborate using 4 sliver birch sticks and pine root to hold it together
I’m sure I’ve sen that one.
Nice one buddy, might give that a go myself, hope you are all well and safe mate, atb Paul 🙏🏕️🏕️🏕️😁
Thanks pal. I’m sure you will enjoy it as much as I did ATB Alex
Great tutorial. How long has it been burning?
I got just over half an hour burn time with it but I will be doing a modification on it that I’m sure will improve the performance
