- Blown 383 stroker with dual 750 double pumper Holleys keep backfiring and won't idle nicely. Whats wrong and can we fix her ? this is the engine that the cam and lifters were wiped out when Justin bought it few months ago without knowing and the owner told him it needed some carb adjustments, the cam and lifters replacement videos are also on my channel @Vassmotorsports ,thanks for watching and please comment what ya think

I've always loved and worked on this Gen of SBC since I was a teenager and still do as thats the engine in most boats I mess with just because they have that chevy in them. And he trusts my work

Just put a fresh built 383 and my 87 Firebird really like the looks of that supercharger coming out the hood will have to save me some money grade looking car you have there take care of it later bye

@@Vassmotorsports yeah I've had my 87 Firebird now for about 28 years raise Three Sons so I had to put it on the back burner just stuck around 20,000 into it and still have to buy new tires yet my wife bought me a 92 RS heritage 25000 Mi on it 3rd gen F bodies a real fun cars to drive better get out there and buy you one the price of a are going up nice talking to you later bye
@awfulcoffelsonecargarage8215 I actually have my 84 Z28 I've had since I was 18 and put a built 69 350 in it as soon as I bought it. It was hell on the factory 5spd , and my 89 Iroc Z convertible I've had since i was 24 ,all stock ,I'm turning 49 next week and unfortunately both have been sitting over 20 years and looking like hell now but I always plan to oneday restore them ,life just had different plans for me all these years. But working on Justin's car has me really wanting to get one going (preferably the Iroc) I also have a 2000 SS convertible that is alot closer to putting back on the street, atleast it ru s and I can drive down the street but she needs so.e things done before I would be happy putting a tag on her and insurance, been probably 15 yrs since she was on road. @@Vassmotorsports not a bad looking convertible you got there I have a 99 LS1 motor sitting down in my basement for about 10 years now was going to put it in my Firebird but I picked up a 78 350 build it instead of the LS1 thinking it would be a lot cheaper what I end up putting 10,000 into that motor that convertible looks like a fun ride
@awfulcoffelsonecargarage8215 dang would love to see that Firebird, yes the SS is very fun to drive. Alot of performance and handling for the money , I'll always have a love for a good 3rd gen. I still have shit put up over 25 years now I was gonna build a nice motor for the Iroc with Lunati pistons, comp cams and roller lifters ,edlebrock heads, Holley Stealth Ram intake ,full Hooker super comp coated headers and exhaust, all sitting new in the boxes like and idiot ,that way could keep injected and be around 420hp. Which by today's terms seems like nothing, I should have built it 20 yrs ago
Cool 😎. Did you find what caused the damage ? Sparks were metal . Hood is fiberglass ?
Thanks for watching Vassmotorsports,.I thought it was fiberglass too but it's metal and the pulley bolts hit and sparks were flying, has alot of bondo on it ,I'm impressed by whoever did the body work cause that's a smooth hood with the pearl paint (should have made hole little bigger tho lol)

Normally yes and I definitely did on lower intake but somehow when we set blower on and we were both trying to work on it was the mistake, and I left that evening and when I came back next day carbs and all were on so I didn't think anything else about it , this last time I did it myself to make sure no more mishaps
