  • Hey guys!
    I hope you have all enjoyed the new build, I will be posting around 2 updates a week hopefully regarding updated and new projects that I will be starting. If you have any specific style you want me to create then please let me know in the comment section!
    I have a Part 3 coming which will be when I introduce the colony into the new setup, I honestly can't wait, can you guys?!
    ALSO I need a name for this formicarium so if you have any ideas then please leave them there too!
    If you want to know what plants I've used too I can make another video with names & also what brands/materials I used then also let me know!
    As always guys, peace and love!
    Stay blessed

    As far as water loss in the shrimp part I'd say its wicking from the moss or plants overhanging, or a gap in the holes for the tubing, if you used holes?

    • @AntScapes1
      @AntScapes1  Před 3 lety

      Hey Kat! I’d say it’s probably the wicking, & thank you for suggestion as I’m still not 100% sure but I’ve noticed since a rock fell (update coming) then it’s stopped the wicking as a piece of moss died. The water level then stopped dropping as much. But I’ve since put it back to normal and it’s dropping a little quicker again, I think that the plants & moss like the wicking so I think I’ll just leave it and top it up more often. Thank you Kat you’re awesome 😎 😃

    The humidity sensor probably works fine. Mine sensor is also always at 99. But if there’s no airflow inside the humidity just won’t go down. It’s Definitely also because of the water inside.
    My have a built that’s almost closed and I give the set up 3 millimetres of water every week and that’s enough for 99%. Another to think is to smell inside. If it’s at 99 you will smell the rainforest inside the formicarium (which I often have in my formicarium). So my conclusion is definitely the live water that make the 99%

      Hey Alex! Thank you for your response buddy. That’s really good to know, I’ve ordered a fan actually to go on top to blow the air around but generally it’s what everyone says about those sensors. I do smell inside and I’m thinking it’ll be because of the waterfall. I’ll just keep checking it now and then to keep an eye on it. Thank you for the message man 😃❤️

      @@AntScapes1 your welcome 😄 (and I’m actually ant Holleufer to blow everyone’s mind 😱😨)😂 but yeah get a fan because els there’s a chance of mold because mold love 99 humidity

      @@alexandernh2210 haha I would have never guessed so I’m glad we cleared it up 😂😂. I’ve got fans and humidity has dropped to 71%, thank you very much again buddy this has helped me massively. Going to attach fans in floating shelves to the side so it’s not too messy but it’s working perfect! Thank you man ❤️🐜

    How much does a terrarium like that cost.

    • @AntScapes1
      @AntScapes1  Před 3 lety

      The glass was around £200 which was most expensive, the rest was pretty much free! Mostly everything was from my garden (plants & Moss) then it was just the light & soil which is cheap enough
      But you don't have to do such a large scale - 2ft is fine :)
