Hi Stephanie, You are amazing! Have you ever been to Cape Verde đšđ» Island đ... if not, you should đđ€ You might like it! Let me know...
No I haven't yet. I'll add it to my list!
@@StephaniePerry itâs even cheaper than Mexico but yet sunny đ all year round, beach đ, great restaurants đamenities, fun... lots of fun đđđđđ
đ Sounds like youâre living in a Bizarro World of alternate reality!⊠Youâve been brainwashed with victimhood lies spread by the leftist controlled U.S. mainstream media!⊠Black people in the U.S. are the most privileged and entitled people in the world and 9 out of 10 Central American or sub Saharan African would trade places with you in a New York minute!⊠Yeah, that privilege you get carrying that USA passport is unparalleled compared to say the Mexican or Kenyan passport!⊠Just be grateful that you are privileged enough to be a citizen of the least racist country in the world and the greatest country in the world!⊠Love it or get the fcuk out as they say!⊠You wonât be missed and you will be replaced by someone grateful and appreciative in the blink of an eye!
That extra layer of protection you spoke about is so true. I just moved to Puerto Rico and Iâm able to move with such ease! My Blackness is revered not demonized.
I wish all Black women could feel that feeling for at least a while. đ Enjoy PR and eat all of the foods for me!
Congratulations on your move. đ„That was a close choice for me but the heat. I chose Bogota instead.
Youre not revered its just that puerto ricans dont care
@@Maria-oh1nq Untrue. Puerto rican culture is heavily black based.
That #5 - spot on! I lived in the Bahamas for 3 years and the ONLY people that asked about my work were visiting Americans. Can't stand 'work talk' - boring đ!
I am cuban, and for us is bad taste to ask a person about his occupation or profession during a dinner. We also admire the good manners and the education of MĂ©xico
That's a good rule to live by. đ
We love Cubans in Mexico too! And Ropa Viejađđ.
It's absolutely is its in poor taste we never would ..
There's definitely a difference in the food. My skin cleared up so well the week I was in Mexico. Soon as I came home my skin was back looking dull and bumpy. And Yes I ate the same thing I would normally eat. Fruit for breakfast and tacos for dinner lol
I definitely am less bloated abroad. Didn't even know that was what was going on in the US. I thought it was just was what it was..
FactsđŻ Iâve lived in Jamaica for fifteen years and the culture shock was unbelievable. I went there with my New York aggressive behavior blowing the car horn without patience, they donât blow horns there unless itâs extremely necessary, then their lay back way of life was hard to get use to, I was always telling them I was in hurry if they could speed it up they would look at me like I was crazy. Eventually I had to learn to calm down bcaz everyone was so chilled, on coming back to the states to visit I couldnât wait to leave it was erratic fast pace and noisy, gives me panic attacks.
YES TO THIS! Once you see a better way, it's hard to turn back. đ
That was me when I came back after living in an Ashram for 2 years.
I was in Europe for a week and enjoyed not being rushed during dinner. When I Got back my friend and I sat in a restaurant. We had not seen each other for three months. She also had got back from Europe. When we went to a restaurant in New York the waiter kept checking in on us and would not leave us in peace. At one point he took the meal away but we cannot even finished. It was quite a culture shock.

Skin looks flawless. Eyebrows look awesome. So articulate. Thank you for being you and sharing your experiences, it helps.
Thanks so much Marie. đ
Iâm in Mexico. Iâm not in a tourist area, so I get stares but a lot of friendly stares. There are people here who have never seen a black person in real life, so Iâm used to that for those who have never met me. I left Sally yesterday with items in my hands because I didnât purchase a shopper bag. There were no issues with anyone suspecting if I stole. If I could get my parents to move here, Iâd never go back to the US. Omg about storage facilities; that is soooo true! And the conversations, omg so true. I heard a loud American in a spa discussing only work. It made me realize what life outside of the US is all about. You make me want to vlog again.
This is so true we donât have black people in many areas of Mexico and the stares are definitely out of curiosity we are a very curious people in general. Iâve never felt like people stared at me in stores. I donât know how Iâd react if someone assumed I was stealing. đł
Lol! âAs little as possible.â Love it! My response to total strangers who ask me what I do is, â I live my best life!â Itâs really annoying when people are trying to size you up!
It really is. I usually say Iâm a Jane of many trades. I hate how nosy and invasive the question is. Iâll start using your line now.
Good response!
Stephanie: you speak truth!!! I decluttered about 10 or so years ago and it did feel good. I mean it felt SO GOOD!
I just did it again as I've sold my house and living with my sister before I start my around the world travels. I know your main target is for black women but, as a black male, I find your information valuable, truthful, and trustworthy!
I remember some years ago my car broke down and my parents offered me their car to get me through the day or two that I'd be without (to get to/from work etc.), but I declined. I had figured out the local bus and I could get to/from work AND to/from my mechanics place (with a little bit of a walk down the street). Funny, but it was as if my mother was slightly offended. But yes, it was empowering and I love to walk. Currently I cannot drive due to shoulder surgery and I'm back walking/taking the bus to/from physical therapy :)
I love how you're living life and sharing your thoughts and ideas! Thank you so much.
ps - Oh wow, just saw the comment from BelindaJo Whitmore... "Most of the people I get along well with, are from overseas"... Wow - that's kinda how I feel as well!
such an awesome comment
This is WONDERFUL! Congratulations! All the best, from Croatia!
I hope your recovery is going well. đ
@@StephaniePerry Thank you so much Stephanie - it's going to be a long slow process!

Great answer, it must shock them

I appreciate your channel although it is for women. I find your input universal. Great work.
I appreciate that. đ
i felt all of these after living in Germany for some years. I had to really do a change of thought process in the US. The whole response to COVID in the US of "I'm not comfortable so I'm going to do what I want" showed the lack of community and caring for us in the US. Ugh. The US is so ghetto.
Everything that you stated I have found to be true when I 've traveled abroad. Also, for me that feeling of being treated differently always starts when I'm in the airport among other Americans heading for the states.
Have a safe flight.
Yes please do a video on MA from those other countries, I love such educated conversations. I love that "how are you, what do you do conversations". I can't stand that conversation because right away you're being judge by your title and purse. My strongest pet peeve.
I'm with you Terri. Like really, they're just asking you for your lifetime earning potential as a getting to know you question. đđż
Deep breath! Safe travels.
Wow Stephanie...so true. Life in the States especially now is not a kind or loving place to be many times. I wish you a peaceful as possible time here, and hope you will be on your way to a more lovely place very soon.
Iâm looking for a place to stay for a 2-month stay in Mexico...perhaps Baja. After your video I feel even happier that I have chosen Mexico to visit for some peace and quiet. Iâll be working remotely, but at least Iâll a break from here for a bit. Safe travels , Stephanie!đđ

Thatâs so beautiful no one asks about work . . Be a whole person
Powerful, depressing and TRUTH.
There really is better for us out there. đ
Welcome back to the madness, and may God bless you!
14:45 oooh, that explains a lot. I dated an african american man once, and whenever we would go out, as soon as I put down my cutlery, he would ask me, do you want anything else? If I said no, he would call the waiter for the bill immediately ... I was like.. ehm, are you on the run? đTo me it felt very rushed. Because usually we would sit and talk after finishing our meals over here in Germany and the waiters would come and ask you would you like something else.. of course you wouldnât just sit there for 2 more hours without ordering anymore, but donât rush me đ
We really do get pushed out of the restaurant after our last bite here. đ
IHOP is good for pushing people out. They give you the food and put the bill down right after. I knows itâs somewhat a diner but geez.
đđđ âare we on the run?â
đđ€Łđ
I returned from overseas after one year away. As an Aftican American US citizen, it was a difficult transition. I had to get used to the microaggressions that you mentioned. Truthfully, I would compare returning to the states to someone having to put on an ill fitting, oversized heavy coat that you didn't realize you were constantly wearing until you had the opportunity to take it off when living elsewhere. It's an oppressive feeling to have to mentally prepare to function in a society that is not particularly welcoming and in the case of police, downright hostile. Family situations preclude my departure, but I wish I could leave.
All very true.
I hate it here in the US! lol
I'm so excited about experiencing the differences!
So true - we are loud and people abroad value work life balance...
Extremely loud
Way too loud
Wow, I should have left the states ages ago, because I have never fit in! I am born and raised in Los Angeles, Ca, and have been here all of my life, but I have always hated the meism,, jobism, have to have a car, ect, each point you bought out I hate that very thing!!!! Most of the people I get along well with, are from overseas!!! I am living in San Diego, Ca. now and the people that I am drawn to are all not from the United States. The thing that holds me here is the weather. lol and I am now 70 years old. I would love to talk to you.

@@StephaniePerry Thanks, do you have to be vaccinated to go to these places, because I am not going to get vaccinated.
I just completed a return and then a ( woohoo ) depart of the US. One thing that stood out to me was the annoying small talk and fake "how are you's" that come at you when you're trying to check out with your items in a store or what have you. The dining experiences were def a huge shock as well, between the poor quality, XL price AND 20% tipping expectations, and like you mentioned the lack of peace from the server. Also, how we ignore one another when passing by. In Mexico, a casual greeting would typically be offered.
Thank you in advance and wishing you the very best in your travels Stephanie.
You are speaking so much truth. Thank you so much for the video..

Listening to this in the airport waiting for my flight. Really enjoying your content!
The U.S. also has cheap gas to encourage car culture including buying massive vehicles even when a small car would do. I've always lived close to downtown and love being able to walk to most things.

Thank you so much for talking about Mexico, I always wonder why a lot of blacks are gravitate towards Mexico, and I must say I was busy looking at the part that is violent, knowing that not every part of Mexico is like that, even though here is America they always show the negative part of any other foreign place because of the racism that we experience our self here, but I knew it was something good about it because I hear a lot of blacks saying how much they like Mexico mainly black women, now I have an interest in going to Mexico but what I like to know from you is what part of Mexico is the best place for black women and black men because one day I would like to vacation there, and I rather get my information from you because you were straight into the point, and you I know it would not give me any pet advice, thatâs how much confidence I have in your word, Iâm new to your channel but you are a straight shooter, so you will listen too, so thank you for all of the information that you have been giving Iâm still trying to catch up with a lot of this information that you were giving, I find it very intriguing even though right now I canât be moving around abroad like that, married husband is not interested in moving around going abroad, but if anything ever happened in our life and he leaves before I do and Iâm not too senior citizen to do anything Iâm very intrigued.Laugh out loud God for bid anything to happen, but you still need to plan so I find the things that you Saying very intriguing call mom so I put that on my bucket list, so thank you so much for your information and have a wonderful weekend and once again thank you for your unapologetic honesty. Years ago before ever had any children, my desires were to live abroad call mom but life has a way of changing things get married and having children going to school working raising your family including your husband in life changed and I was never able to go abroad, and I removed it from my mind you really didnât think about it, Until you popped up on my phone one day without me even looking for your videos, and now Iâm stuck in a marvelous way, I respect and admire your beautiful powerful women and I thank you for your honesty and sharing your journey with us so as of now Iâm living by curiously do you beautiful sisters of mine.đđ©đŸâđŠČđ
Hope all goes well with you in the States. I know what you mean.

Hi Stephanie!
My new line from Ms. Shida, when asked what do I do? Uh live a life of leisure!!!!! What do you do? đđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Hi Stephanie! I had to laugh when you spoke about McDonald's food abroad. I lived in Berlin, Germany for 3 years and loved McD's because they would bake the buns right there. You could smell freshly-baked bread while sitting at the drive-thru, lol. Also, you could go to a German restaurant and sit all night. My girlfriends and I would make a night of it. Love your channel.
If I went to a city and their McDonald's had fresh baked buns, I'd never leave. đ
@@StephaniePerry I almost didn't, lol!
The McDonaldâs in Germany fried the apple pie and it was awesome. I never understood why it was changed in the USA years ago!! The mcdâs in Germany also served good beer!

So true observations ! The U.S.A. needs a good dosis of community lifestyle : kibbutz, cooperatives, brotherhood and sisterhood .
Mexico sounds like my kind of town! I hate how we Americans size up one another by their titles and education. Can you image the looks here if your response to work? As little as possible... I love that response.

Great information. I hate you have to return to the constant anxiety we live under; but I'm sure you won't have to be here for very long.
Not long at all. And there's comfort in knowing that I can leave when I'm ready. I hope more of us get to exercise our options. đ

Enjoy!! I really think Mexico is the total package. And I agree with Linda, I hope you have time to explore a little. đ
It Was a Culture Shock For Me When I First Went To The USA With My Family, As a Child, Because Our Hotels (Four Seasons/RitzCarlton) Insisted On Driving Us EVERYWHERE When We Went Out. âNOT ADVISABLEâ, They Told My Family. Weâre English. We Lived In Central London & Walked Everywhere Or Took Buses. Thankfully As An Adult In SoCal I Started Taking Buses Along PCH. In Pasadena (As An Adult) I Walk Everywhere. I Love It. So Freeing. But I Totally Empathise About The Culture Shock. Very Sad. :(
I once visited LA and my brothe who I was visiting at the time needed the car, so I just went for a stroll down the street (residential). No more than 5 minutes in, police car stops and 2 policemen come up to me and say someone called police because they saw suspicious activity (me walking on public sidewalk). I had to explain I am from Europe and just went for a walk. They looked at each other not understanding, they asked me where is my dog (if you walk, it must be walking dog situation only) LOL It was super weird.
Wow my sister husband is from Yemen and people are very nice to there she wants to go back âŠ. I going to visit
I agree in America, you are only valued if you have a degree and make lots of money. It's sad. It's exhausting.
I used to live in the USA but now im. In Mexico. But I do speak spanish. I would def recommend learning Spanish.
All the places youve mentioned are where predominantly english speakers are. So you dont really get the feel of the heart of Mexico. Plus you also get to see so many cool things that you wouldn't be able to see with only knowing english.
Plus you get to connect with cool ppl and get inside info on anything you need. Where as the info you get from mainly english speakers can be a little outdated at times.
Please share your experiences about your year in Asia. Thank you.
Will do! Thanks Theodore. đ

Hi! Great channel. Thanks for all you do. Do you need to know/speak a lot of Spanish to live in Mexico?
I'd say if you want to live in Mexico, you need to learn Spanish when you get down there. But for visits / not conducting business, English is spoken in the areas popular with Americans and Canadians. I speak Spanish on the level of a 2 year old, and that's been enough for me to do what I need to do.
@@StephaniePerry Youâre awesome! Thank you! Lol! I took Spanish in high school and college. If you donât us itâŠyou definitely lose it. I picked it back up last year. I can read it better than I can speak or understand it. Iâll get there. đ
