Horizon Forbidden West is the long-awaited sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, and throws Aloy into a beautiful but dying world full of powerful machines, as she tries to discover why the world is ending. The game gives you a lot of tricks up your sleeve to stop the apocalypse… again, but it’s a lot to get your head around, so here are nine things I wish I knew before playing Horizon Forbidden West.

There's also a trophy for scanning all machine types and some bosses are one off encounters that you can miss. Always scan

The only one I can think of is the apex spectar now that I think of it, everything else can be seen in the wild except the corruptors which can be found in the arena
And use the hunter's training grounds. They're not only good for some nice rewards but let you try out playstyles and combat mechanics you'd probably ignore otherwise, yet they help a lot with those big beasts. :)
glad to see traps are just as good as before. Anytime I was about to finish a cauldron I'd spread them out all over the place, and they helped a ton.
Great Video! I would add "USE YOUR ENVIRONMENT!" Meaning in this new Horizon the landscape is often peppered with environmental objects you can use to your advantage in or even right before a battle. (Rock piles, log stores, random telephone pole things) 😎👏

If you changed your controller settings in anyway and are having trouble dropping from ledges at certain points literally change it back to default settings and it should work. It's a weird issue that you'll only come across if you change square and O around tho
I don’t need to watch a story recap cause I’ve been replaying the game. In fact, for the past few days I’ve been saving the final story mission so I can complete it tonight right before FW.

I 100% agree with using your traps a lot, and though I have not played forbidden west yet I have been replaying zero dawn and the traps have absolutely carried my. Don't get me wrong they diffidently are not that necessary in some parts, like I was usually 5 and above levels for the recommended level so I was usually fine even on hard mode. But still laying 6 traps in one spot and instantly dealing 1 third or some times even a half of that thunder jaws health is an amazing feeling. And as a mentioned a don't know particularly if things changed so I will be going off zero dawn. DO NOT UNDER UNDER ESTIMATE THE ROPE CASTER. Though the trap life style is resource expensive if you can plant loads of traps including the trip caster then you can instantly do lots of damage then tie them down and plant a bunch more bombs and traps but beware though obviously this strategy is not as effective when there is multiple enemys.

But I don’t agree with the last part. Traps are definitely amazing in front of 2 or 3 enemies. I use them to lure them out when the battle is engaged. Anyway, traps are useful but I’m usually not patient enough to put them down, so using the rope one while fighting is the best option for me
I don't know if it's meant to happen or mine is broke but when I upgrade the resource pouch the medicinal berries should be on 36 but I'm still only holding 24.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is there any way to delete autosave files on the PS5? My game is over 100GB now because I have 14 autosaves in my game and no way to delete them, so I can only have my manual save. Anyone know what to do?

I was the opposite I used a lot of traps in zero Dawn but when it comes to forbidden wash I don't like the traps nor do I like the truck system so I don't use them at all like ever except for when it's required to do so like that one trial in the hunting grounds for example. Horizon forbidden West completely nerfed the Trapper skill
I hope that you are aware that when you are in the weapon wheel you can still Dodge and move out of the way of enemies in slow-motion whilst you are picking your weapon or making more ammo for it.... how slow is your hand-eye coordination or how picky are you that you have to turn it down all the way... in fact if you utilize that right it right you can get some matrix-style dodges outta it...
It's one of those little secrets that a lot of people don't know like how you actually become invincible for a few seconds as you go into Valor surge mode

I don't actually think it's there! I use rocks to distract them.
Whistling calls mounts, rocks are the distraction.
Also a very good detail to acknowledge, once you have hacked a tallneck and get off the tallneck, it will drop a powerful energy burst that will eliminate all the machines in the area. It's amazing if you haven't been able to eliminate them all and still want their parts
Turn off pick up animation saves a load of time.
Get to the arena, turn difficulty on story plow through it. Enjoy the rest

It should show up to upgrade to PS5 at midnight local time. Then you can download it.
Go to the game in your library. Click on it. You should see an option for the ps5 version

The Skill trees are too much, and I stuck with mainly the Bows since all other weapons just didn't feel right to use, they nerfed the Ropecaster...they put too many campfires in the game. I wish they stuck with one weapon from each class and let you pick and choose Ammunition for each weapon and so on. would have benefitted from a block and parry system as well. The Shield Wing could have been used as a Shield along with being a Glider. overall it's a great game...just some systems felt too much such as the Skill trees, could have combined the skill trees, and had less campfires overall.
Traps are extremely limited in this game as compared to zero dawn. How anyone ignored traps in zero dawn is beyond me.
i thinks is because the game didn't lead you that path... at least for me... they focused more on weapons
I set up so many traps thinking it was overkill only to run around laying down more traps fighting monsters in the frozen wild dlc
I never bother with traps in any game. I’d rather go on a full frontal assault, takes too much time to place all those traps strategically
It doesn't tell you that rocks can also make an enemy go away from you. A few times I've sent enemies away from my hiding place due to throwing rocks

Did they take away the Shield Weaver?
You can still wear the armor but the shield is gone.
there's an alternative skill that virtually works the exact same but more balanced/less op

@@KrazyBean14 eh don’t get me wrong Horizon Forbidden West is amazing so far but it’s nothing we haven’t seen before, I think Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok will be the game of the year contenders for sure, Horizon taking bronze tho.
@@oddissy God of War Ragnorak will be great no doubt, but it’s just another sequel like HFW. I’m hoping for Elden Ring or Starfield since it’s something new.

I can't tell what the dinosaurs are supposed to be. They have too much detail in them for my eyes to track, like the Transformers movies. I can't play this game for that reason.
There not dinosaurs, never was designed that way.

No their based of irl animal features including dinos but there lore is that they a cleaning robots that are designed to eat scrap. The story takes place in the 31st century

To everyone that wanna play this game a tip from someone who has spent over 130 hours on it :1)learn how to play with a spike thrower
2) go machine build and get the spike thrower talents .specially the spread spikes talent
3) choose explosion spikes
Congratulations u can beat 99% of the machines even those on air ,with 3 hits
4) if u wanna.beat the rest 1% choose fire spikes

This game is the definition of 'bloated'. There is so much unnecessary mechanics in this. Dev time wasted that could have been spend on fixing some of the basics that are pretty broken: the camera being too close very often, swimming, climbing, platforming, melee combat
Je zou juist trots moeten zijn dat ons relatief klein landje zo’n game als deze heeft kunnen ontwikkelen. Klimmen broken? Speel je op de PS3 ofzo? Ik heb nog nooit zo smooth geklommen als in deze game. En er is niets mis met de camera. Zeker ook geen fan van de camera in GoW?
