Really dislike the fact that you gotta level up to beat the bosses. It really is off pitting for me. I hate levelling up juat to beat the bosses. I just want to get on with the game. So what I did was. I quit the game and called it a day.
Pullcaster is a favorite tool. It’s cool to see stone collapse and open up originally-hidden areas. Just yesterday I got a firebow - if I’m not mistaken, I think from Barren Light ? And either a Purgewater weapon OR coil maybe ? 😁I stink at machine strike, but might do the training grounds.
Another Tip: Don't be afraid to level up your gear and weapons to at least Lvl II early on, even if it's not good or end-game stuff. In the beginning, it'll be beneficial, and there's PLENTY of resources to replenish what you use up, so long as you do minor farming here and there.
great, thanks for the tip. i was going to save those materials once i got better weapon/armor.
Really works. I barely got any new gear throughout almost the entire story. I had only blue/green gear and had the basic starting armor until Poseidon mission, where I finally decided to buy things. They work pretty well for a good portion of the story (normal mode with easy loot btw)
Fully level up the starting Hunter bow so you can one hit kill animals you need to upgrade your pouches.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Most games it's not worth upgrading beginner gear but there's so much scrap around so I thought why not. Thank you sir
Thanks so much! Just started playing a while a go and (like most gamers) I was hoarding everything I gathered lol. I just upgraded my gear and I'm glad I can with your blessing. It makes me feel better about it for some reason lol.
My two bigget tips are if a youtuber tells you to do the main quests first don't listen DO what you want to do, and second as soon as the main quest poseidon comes up ( i know what i just said ) just do the first part which when completed get you the underwater breather so you can go exploring the underwater sections easily without running out of air.
I second this, It helps so much and the underwater areas are beautiful
Totally don’t agree with just do the main story- do everything - once the mains story is over-
Psychologically- everything hold less importance. Go slow and do everyone. You can do some of those things you might pass up early.
I would suggests having the Focus on the story until getting the three subordinate funcions, because with that, you can explore underwater and open the blocked metal flowers and walls. Returning to places Just to open a wall is a pain.
My advice after playing this game for a while: have fun with side missions, contracts, and everything in between. But don't be afraid to resume the main story line when you get pummeled by machines and enemies far outside your abilities. It'll happen and it'll be frustrating. You'll come across a machine that you simply cannot beat. That's when you know.
I've been playing for over 10 hours and haven't seen more than maybe a quarter of the map because I've been exploring and doing challenges. There's so much to do in this game and I love it! ❤️
If felt overwhelmed at the beginning but now I'm having so much fun and doing everything
@@Ray-by7xo I know the feeling. Sometimes when I check the map after not playing for a couple days I get overwhelmed but get back into the groove after a little bit of play time
Best tip: Take your time. Soak it in.
This game is too lush to just breeze through it.
Walk the trails. Swim the streams. The game rewards you for poking around, whether it be a tucked away chest or rare green gems to find.
I enjoy moss photography.
I spent in the first area, before I unlocked Forbidden West, around 11-12 hours. You can do a lot of exploring and losing yourself in the environment and side quests, but some stuff are locked until you acquire certain tool while doing main story. Only word of advice would be, do not explore water before you get specific tool. After that, whole new area opens.
Also, if you do not want to rush through main story and want to stay in this world as long as possible, poke around every single thing that interests you, game rewards exploration.
Yeahhhhh..... Uhhh, you are going to REALLY want to use the Freeze Status Effect. Pretty bad advice to say status effects don't matter much. Freeze is quite literally game breaking in both the 1st game and this one. It renders ALL armor plating 100% void while in effect, allowing every hit you land to do massive damage, specially when attacking components & weak points. Best way to take advantage of this is to simply unload on an enemy while frozen with your fastest shooting weapon. It was by far the greatest thing you could do to a foe in the 1st game and is no different in the 2nd & is how all the pros take out the giants in mere seconds. Abuse the hell out of it.
I believe the Freeze Status will only receive extra damage by Impact damage, the little arrow pointing downwards. Like Impacts spike but not exploding spikes or blastslings or other elemental ammo won't be extra effective. Only pure impact damage so you should use Precision arrows or bolt blasters for it to deal extra damage to certain high absorbing weak spots or canisters.
nearly 3 weeks of play, almost lv50 and still haven't tried to meet the Quen yet. There's a lot to do and more than its fair share of farming for the endgame. just take your time, if you hit something you can't get past yet, just remember to check it later.
Tipp:
You can turn off the pick up animation, so you can just pick up heal, while traveling. (PS I do not know, if this works on a mount to.)
It does work on a mount
@@chipperdrewski Thx.
Good tip about removing the tips screen. PS5 loads the game so fast that the tips get in the way.
I can't wait to play this game!! I'm so exited!!
Trust me… it’s totally worth it! There are some bad reviews about this guy but seriously… I don’t know where they got that bad review from. You will never get tired of the game
Am I the only one that thinks Varl looked better with his beard
How about how much bigger he got in 6months
Just started playing it and thought the same. My guy looked like a warrior with the beard. Was mad he shaved it cause Aloy made a comment about it. Simp 😂
@@MidniteSociety88 right... and he simpin over somethin that swings on the other side of the cauldron
oh my god I thought the same thing! So much better with a beard. Him and Erend are my favorite characters in the game.
I'm 30+ hours in, have only got about 6 to 7 MSQ done, and have only come across ONE sifequest I couldn't go further in. The side quests are great. Some offer new and very important weapons/gear upgrades, and doing them absolutely has an effect on the dialogue as you go. Just B line the main story is terrible advice to be honest
Agreed! Besides this time Around all the interactions with NPCs feel natural and are just as cinematic as the main story, so it is very worth it.
Agreed that was the worst bit of advice ever
Use Warrior Bows, especially after freezing machines. Ammo is cheap, they fire fast and most enemies get pretty close to you anyway
I appreciate the tip about the dialogue options. Good to know the (lack of) effect it has.
The tip about playing through the prologue in one go is good, I played about 45 mins and had to quit, sadly no autosaves so I had to start again from the beginning and couldn't even skip the catchup vid with Sylens narrating at the very start. Oof,
if you need to harvest a lot of parts fast for upgrades turn on story mode. With story mode on you don't have to knock off the parts individually and they aren't lost when the machine is killed. Instead you can just kill the machine and loot the parts from it's corpse.
Can you turn your game play back to normal afterwards?
@@laylaavds8242 you can, but if you ask me this a very cheesy way to do it. Only change the difficulty if you're finding the game too easy, personally I would start in "Normal" and up it to Hard later on if you're feeling more confident. Resources are not that hard to come by, and the machine parts can be obtained relatively easy if you plan a powerful shot before engaging in battle.
If you can just easily obtain all the parts you need with no effort you're not gonna feel rewarded for your efforts, might as well keep it in "Story mode" if you don't care about the combat and upgrades that much.
Great tip. Put it on easy.
If I see anything vital around me, it is precisely that spirit of adventure, which seems indestructible and is akin to curiosity. We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open. My adventure, my horizon forbidden west! 🙂
That's an impressive amount of accessibility settings D:
Finally playing this after a month or so on elden ring. It's kinda funny how now I find the game much easier to deal with dodging and going full melee lol
Yeah. Games where you're tested like Elder Ring does dramatically improve one's reflexes 😅 doesn't it make you feel bad ass when you realize what's happening lol
I’m really bummed there’s no new game + mode, I really liked going through the hard way first try, then having all the most OP weapons from the beginning for subsequent playthroughs
Surely they will add new game + in a future update.
Zero Dawn was no different on release, there was no Ultra Hard or NG+ but they were added later down the line. Undoubtedly Forbidden West will work the same way with time.
There is a New Game + now btw!! 🎉
@@kasynth reallyyy?
@@LexiliusX this was 5 months ago chill
I've just started playing this, after my girlfriend got it for me for my birthday. I've only got up to a few side quests, before the embassy mission. So far, I feel like I'm going to play the game like I did in Zero Dawn. Which for this, would be upgrading my hunter and infiltration skill tree, and using the hunter bow, sharpshooter bow, blast sling, and rope caster as my main weapons. I felt the elemental weapons weren't that useful in Zero Dawn. But I'll see what happens during the rest of the gameplay 😃
I am one of those guys that has to go to every? And grab every collectible and do everything. In zero dawn aside from maybe high-level monsters, or mission locked areas I went and explored everywhere and did everything first, I have a reason for this. Usually this is the means to getting the best weapons and armor and unlocking all of your skills etc. Because it is extremely satisfying to face off against the campaign being the strongest you can be with the best stuff you can have. If you do it the other way around, beat the game first and then go collect everything like getting the best weapons and armor. Here’s the problem you finally get the best weapon and armor but……You’ve already beaten the game and done pretty much everything so you went through all that work to get all the cool stuff but now you have nothing to do with it. For me this instantly kills my desire to explore. Yes there is a lot you cannot do until you have certain tools. That you only get on main story missions however. If you progress through the story to where you have to collect the three subroutines, if you do the other two besides the Demeter, you will get all of the tools and thus you can do everything. Of course if you already intend To play through again then everything I said is meaningless but if you’re just doing this once like I usually do because once you’ve explored and collected everything and done everything, unless the game has an extremely satisfying 10 second Loop or gunplay playing through a second time even at max level with everything unlocked ends up being boring for me and I tend to just stop playing so yeah for anybody out there like me do the missions until the DeMeter And then explore to your hearts content.
I agree with your method/playstyle and play this way too. Thanks for the tips I'll definitely play it this way. 🎉
I was seeing videos that said you can’t respec skill points but actually you can.
I disagree with the "not using elements too much" part. I'm 40% into the game more or less and especially in the beginning elements are crucial while you don't have higher stat gear. When compared to HZD, you barely do any damage with regular type ammo unless the machine already has exposed parts, elements are pretty much the only thing that can save you, target the cannisters with respective elements to cause elemental explosions, and focus on Freeze, Electrical and Acid damage as they're the most useful.
More than that be sure to use the right elements with each type of machine when you're not targetting the cannisters.
Another tip is to unlock ranged master and braced shot as soon as possible, using both at the same time grants you opening shots that can deal almost half life bar damage even to the stronger machines.
I just learned that depending on your dialog choice in one mission you either get some lame armor or an awesome bow. So dialog choices DO matter.
I love this game
Save the extra stuff for later on is a terrible tip people, you can get some of the best weapons early game in the starting area by doing the opposite
Great vid
Pro tip: if you want to roll farther just use slide, also i found out that you can bait machine attacks by switching direction mid-attack
3:55 i went wit ❤ i see aloy as a really caring person when it comes to her loved ones, but to her enemy... turn your face to the sun, she has no mercy
Where can you get your first crown and spear thank you
Definitely do the forge mission for the 4 people finding armor for them you will get legendary armor.
I always hoped Aloy would end up with Erend. I like Erend.
Tip #2 is focus on the main story, meanwhile, I’m 52 hours in and barely got the water breathing apparatus. This game is massive.
Anyone know where to use greenshine? In trying to use it all before i start New Game +
I’ve been getting destroyed so far especially by the raptors and the big turtle ice shooting thing
Easy way to kill enemies is to tear aim for their components (The ones that light up yellow when you scan them).
i do have a question! do you get enough skill points throughout the story to unlock all of the skill tree abilities?
Yes but you have to do pretty much everything. I finished with only 6 skills still locked and the only things I didn't do were the Hunting Grounds, Gauntlets, or Machine Strike games. I unlocked those 6 skills pretty early on in New Game+, but if you 100% it the first time, you can unlock all skills
I don't know about other people, but I'm hearing pole caster not pull caster.
I finally started playing this game. I’ve had this game for awhile now. But didn’t play it until I beat the first game. I’ve had the first game since launch day for the ps4. I played it for a couple of hours, but then rebought the game for my pc. I’m glad I did since I was able to play the game at 4K ultra at a very stable 60. After seeing how the game plays on the PS5, I think I’m going to play the game when it comes out for the pc. The game on preferred resolution runs like shit. I’m sure the my 4090 could run this game at 4K ultra at 60.
It is a really good game
PRO HACK!! In settings, disable the animation for picking up objects. It makes the game SOOO much faster.
What is your favourite new machine in this game? Mine is the bat
Even tho I platinumed the game twice I’m watching for my third platinum
The dialog options matter one time. If u choose heart or brain u get a armor set and if u choose the first u get a weapon. Andbthere will be a few different scenes and dialogs from that point onwards.
It's only that one time but dont say it doesnt matter and spread misinformation.
The armour and weapons you get are they good?
Which armor and weapon are you talking about?
oh yeah forgot to add in the Beginning How ducking long do the Tutorial section need to be WTH Let me get in game and figure it out with all kinds of mistakes Like IRL
I just can't get past the first tutorial section of the game. Tried twice, first time got bored and quit. Few months later tried again and found a bug which didn't let me proceed, best answer on internet was to ''play from beginning, it's not like you progressed too far anyway'' 👎
HFW was a big step down from HZD. The devs don't have much open world experience, and while it didn't show in HZD, it ALL shows in HFW.
One very small example - you will get quests at early levels, marked for lower levels, that get locked out because you don't have an item you can only get at higher levels. So they'll give you a level 10 sidequest, that needs an item you get at level 25. That's just poor design.
Also, the mechanics of world interaction get thrown aside when you're on a quest. Want to make that easy jump? Nope, can't, because the quest wants you to go around the area, not jump the gap. So nevermind that it's an easy jump - you'll hit the invisible wall and drop, because devs said "no, Aloy won't be able to this one time".
That dialogue tip is a poor one. There is a part of the game when your choices do have an impact. I’ll only say Regalla
Good Tip. When upgrading your gear, watch out how you kill your prey. Even on Story or Easy, parts can and will be destroyed if you do not bring the machine down properly
Turn on easy loot and you won’t have to worry about that. Go to your settings when playing and you should see it
@@demarcus2tall4uoopsiewoops16 Easy loot will not work, if you hit the blazebag of a Fireclaw. If its destroyed its gone. I play on Story, where Easy loot is mandatory without checking the box. thats what the game says anyways
What on earth does she say to the doorkeepers? Open up guys, something something? I can't understand a word she says there in the countless video's I've seen that clip in. She's talking so quietly I simply can't understand her. What does she say there?
You are partially right, she does say “Open up guys” then she says (and let me apologize in advance I don’t remember the character’s name) “Joruf’s Orders”. She name drops a guy that works for Avad (The Sun King) to get access.
@@Guile-NYC Ah I gotcha. Thanks for clarifying.
@@skins4thewin Turn on the subtitles
I'm just struggling to throw a rock
Lol I almost quit the game bcs the prologue
Lol. FW isn’t the type of game to explore as you want, you need to do main quest first. . What a failure. The opposite of Bethesda. Thank god starfield is coming
I belive there are 14 main missions. Do like 8-10 of them before you start doing side missions and exploring.
CZcams recommend thinks i own this game
(i don't)
im not a girl so I don't know how to hit on men in the game

Hey, guy.
Doesn’t matter.
Just stay away from twitter.
Awful obvious tips.
