"Sail On" is a magnificent song by the Commodores with Lionel's wondrous voice.
Yes "Sail On" is great and I love the video!
Sail on.....Yes!!!!
Sail On is black country.
Yes. ❤
Yessssssss!
She's a Brick House. That says it all IMHO.
THAT'S the one!!!
Too Hot Ta Trot is even better
Most people don't realize Lionel Richie is not the lead vocalist on "Brick House", Walter Orange, who alternated lead vocals with Richie is the lead singer on that song.
"Three Times a Lady" is it, for me... thanks for the reaction to a great song.
Lionel Richie, a true songwriter. I can't give higher praise these days.
The Commodores sang Brick House. Everyone needs to listen to that at least one time in their life ! And I think he is PDC worthy ! This is when he went solo I think . I maybe wrong though.❤
This is why he went solo, but he's still with The Commodores here...Yes, "Brickhouse" is a must (Lionel still plays it live at his solo shows, too!)
I cane here to mention brick house myself
There was a show called Lip Sync Battle with Jimmy Fallon, and somebody (Jason Derulo, maybe?) did Brick House, as if Rick James was the artist. Which is hilarious, because it totally feels like a Rick James joint.
Brick house was the most fun to dance to.
Ohmygosh…this is such a great song…his voice is phenomenal. ❤😊 No one can ever sing like Lionel Ritchie 😊
Lionel is a masterclass lyricist. Spent many nights in the early 80’s waiting to hear his songs come on the radio, or calling the radio DJ to request a song and dedicate it to that certain special person out there
70’s & 80’s had some of the most powerful written love songs of all time!
Truly or Hello is possibly PDC worthy. All his ballads have this same general tempo. His duo Endless Love with Diana Ross is probably his best love song aside from Lady.
Imo, this song is way better than either of those two songs. It showcase's Richie's vocal range better.
I bought my aunt a cutting board with Lionel Richie’s likeness on it. It has “ Hello? Is it me you’re cooking for?” On it. 😂
This hit hard. Been 20+ yrs. Hope she is happy.
1) "Stuck On You" 2) "Say You, Say Me" 3) "Hello" 4) "Penny Lover" 5) "Truly". 6) "All Night Long" 7) "Endless Love" 8) "Running With The Night" 9) "Brick House" 10) "Easy" 11) "Lady"... Lionel Richie wrote the lyrics and composed the music to a multitude of #1 and top #10 songs on the record charts and wrote songs for other vocal artists. He was and stil is gifted and talented. Everyone played his songs in the 1970's and 1980's. I took my college girlfriend to a Commadors concert in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois in 1980. It was an enjoyable evening. Lionel is definitely worthy of being on your play list. You just have to listen to all his songs.
Hello. Lionel is just so awesome. With the Commodores and solo.
This song still gets me in the feels EVERY SINGLE TIME. I think it's that dramatic pause when he finally sings "still".
Maybe because I've been there. But not really. When this song came out I was 11 and even then it broke my little heart.
"Truly" is one the best songs he's done .
I gotta wonder why The Commodore's song, "SWEET LOVE"! It always reminds me of my first crush ❤
I believe he had just gone out on his solo career.
Ohhh I love Sweet Love and Lionel should be in the PDC if I'm voting hahaha ! He/They had quite a few really good ones! Sweet Love is at the top of the list for me
@@justrob2656 yes, me too lol ..
Lionel Richie could sing the Sears catalog.....and has always been AMAZING.....forever....I am 70 and will listen to anything he sings.
My favorite song by Lionel Ritchie. So beautiful. Such a gifted man.
Brick House! From the Commodores. Lionel went on his own from The Commodores.
Stunning song and a brilliant reaction as usual.
Listening now to the music I used to listen to back then in my grade-school and preteen years, it's no wonder I felt like I'd never, ever get over every breakup I experienced. These songs kept the heartbreak alive and well way too long.
I LOVE this song!!!! Great reaction
Sail On is definitely Induct worthy. One of the very best singer / song writers of all times.
Interesting, because this is my absolute favorite song by the Commodores.
It's my favorite song to
I am so grateful to have grown up in time back then when songs were such crafted pieces of genius.
This one brings me right back to my teens😢it still hits as if I had some kind of soul crushing love that only a teenager thinks they could be feeling and that no one else ever felt😊
Listen to "Brick House"...that would be induction worth.
It's interest to watch the young folk listen and react. The older people which grew up with this song think of all the memories of those we loved, lost, and the good times we had as this song played in the background. The young folks can't match the memories to the chorus for that time did not exist for them. Good reaction Brit!
I LOVE his song "Deep River Woman." Since I was a little child, I have loved Lionel and could sing his songs. So great!
This was his single that that topped the charts.
My favorite Commodores track! So so beautiful.
If you are looking to add a PDC President, react to Engelbert Humperdinck. I don’t think you have ever reacted to him. He has been billed the Most Romantic Singing Star since the early 60s. Still doing concerts. Release Me,Love Is All, Last Waltz,Welcome to My World….so many from a PDC inductee!❤️
Lionel Richie is ahhhmazing. Fantastic…songwriter!
Love ❤ Lionel... "still."
"Truly" "Sail On" (my fav), "Hello", "Penny Lover", "Three Times A Lady" , "All Night Long"
Richie had a solo career after leaving The Commodores.
If Britt ever does Three Times A Lady, I hope she will add Fee Times A Mady by Eddie Murphy lol. The Buckwheat style of singing he did was hilarious to me
Sail On is my fave too
Hello
If you want an uptempo song with all the Commodores, react to “Too Hot Ta Trot”
That song is funktastic 👍
they sing brick house
love brick house
Love all his music, Commodors, Lionel Richie GREAT PIC BRITT
Hey Britt "Just To Be Close To You" is absolutely PDC worthy and the Commodores sing on that
What Triple DDD said!
The best PDC candidate is probably Just to Be Close to You.
Another well written (but sad) song is Oh No. As a bonus, it’s featured in a sad 80’s teen movie (The Last American Virgin).
Great song I love this song great job by Lionel Richie ❤️😍😍❤️ some people don't like slow song it all good 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Definitely Brick House would be the song to Induct them in to the PDC club. This is a great song thanks for this reaction much love❤❤
What is "PDC"?
Panties ,Droping,Club
Lionel Ritchie is timeless. He can write, sing and perform like very few. To top it off, he is a genuinely nice person to others.
Okay, you had me cracking up to the point of crying when talking about the sideburns. Sweetie, it's mutton chops, not pork chops. I'm a huge fan of Jane Austen's books and movies. They take place in the Georgian era when mutton chops were worn. Since you are so young, I'm impressed that you knew them to be some kind of chops.
Thank you for your reactions to songs. My husband and I love watching them. Blessings!
Lionel Richie is a legend from my teenage years and still today nothing like it
great reaction. you actually need to have an extremely great control over your voice to sing this song and have it sound so smoothly and believe me when i say there are very few singers who can do it this good. in my honest opinion this song is one of the greatest songs ever made. the control of your voice and then he's playing the piano at the same time. this is true talent.
The Commodores is one of my favorite all-time musical groups
Lovely song!! I enjoy all of his work😊
“Oh No” is PDC worthy!!!🔥🔥🔥
I remember listening to “Oh No” by the commodores when I was a teenager! It’s a heartbreak song, it’s about loving someone who doesn’t love you back
This is a beautifully real song …I’ve always loved it✨
Oh my goodness.....this song was one of THE songs of my young, growing hormonal life lol. Aawww memories :)
Since 1974 they had 4 top albums in a row (that I like) - first album "Machine Gun" (instrumental song) is still my favourite with Assembly Line and Human Zoo. The Commodore were on Motown-Label and had all band members singing - especially Thomas McClary. Brick House was often played in a row with Wild Cherry's Play That Funky Music - a real floorshaker.
This is a Lionel Ritchie solo performance.
No it’s the Commodores
He's got some great love songs. PDC worthy for sure.
My opinion…one of the most beautiful love songs ever. Lionel’s cassettes were all in my car, played to death! LOL
I can’t remember how many times I slow danced to this song! Lucky enough to have seen them live while in college at Mississippi State!
Lionel is one of the greatest songwriters of my time. His album titled Truly - The Love Songs is one of my all-time favorites. But he wasn't the only lead singer in The Commodores. They were all great talents.
Sunday Morning coming down!! My fav
Early Commodores were very funky! Brickhouse and Too Hit to Trot were my favorites! Sail On is a great ballad. Lionel is definitely PDC worthy.
I love the Commodores and Lionel Richie and have some of his music but I had forgotten this song. Memories coming back,
Kind suggestions:
If you want to dance - "Game of Love" by Michelle Branch and Santana
If you want to slow dance - " Ooh Baby Baby" by Smokey

If you want a journey for your kids - "Circle Game" by Joni Mitchell
If you want to smile - "Ordinary People" by John Legend (live on letterman.
If you want to cry - "Sarabeth (Skin)" by Rascal Flats
Say something nice to your husband -" I'd Choose You Again" by The Forester Sisters
Just for fun Old Celebrities Dance to Uptown Funk

If you want to laugh - anything by Rodney Dangerfield on the Tonight Show
SRV "TIGHTROPE",Austin City Limits,1989!!!!!!!
Oh yes, anything Stevie Ray did, RIP. Another class all by himself
PDC to the max
Earth, Wind and Fire would be a great band to check out as well!
Yessss!❤
A really good and fun song with Lionel Richie is called "Zoom" check it out
BRITT! All the Commodores could sing. There were times when others sang lead as well but Lionel was the Heart and Soul of the Commodores. But you also have to remember that this song "Still" features Lionel because all he needed was a piano and his voice. I subscribed for two reasons. One, I love your dimples, smile, and personality. The other reason is I wanted you to react to the Force MD's song "Tender Love"! You are going to absolutely love this song and it's ICONIC!
Lionel Richie is awesome. Check out his song Hello. It is awesome! Love your reaction! ♥
i knew that was Lionel from the very first note...so smooth and rich
He was very good with the Commodores, but even better in his solo career....terrific singer/songwriter!!
When this song came out in college all you had to do was play it in your dorm with the young ladies and Lionel took care of everything else!!!
ZOOM -- and don't let the name deceive you. IMO It's The Commodores BEST and most underrated song.
"Just To Be Close" and please, thank you Miss Britt!
This makes me catch my breath.
"Where are The Commodores?" is probably a question The Commodores began asking. Lionel would go solo in a couple years and take the band's producer with him.
In the Commodores Band, Mr. Richie played the Saxophone and the piano. He sung lead on some songs and also did background vocals when others sang lead. The band started in the late 60's when a group of
Tuskegee institute students (one of which was Lionel Richie) got together and formed the band. He broke out from the band in the early 80s, after he and Diana Ross sung the song "Endless Love" for the movie. I love the Commodore songs: Just Want to be Close to You, Jesus is Love, 3 times a Lady, Easy, Sail On and Brick House... just to name a few.😊
I just saw Earth, Wind and Fire and Lionel Richie in concert in DC earlier this year. It was a real treat!🤩😊
".....I wonder if you need me now."
Back in the late 70s early eighties I pretty much listened to country. But I had my commodore and earth wind and fire, Aretha, and some R&B vinyls in the pile.
This gives a perfect "Early Morning Pillow Talk" vibe.
Some Nominating Songs for Lionel's induction, try "Oh, No" or "Truly". Guaranteed to get him there!
For the Commodores, try one of their biggest hits... Either "Easy" or "Brick House".
He does the vocals alone in this one🎶🎶🎶
This is an incredibly beautiful piece! I have the sheet music to it, I have an album with it, and there is a certain risk that when it is used in any way or form that it will invoke onion cutting effects. 'nuf said...
"Three times a lady" is a wonderful song
An induction worthy song is probably "Truly"!
Hmmmm 🫣
Did I hear the lyric "But most of all we do love Britt...... Still"😍😍
Sorry, what problem?did i say something wrong?i'm confused
Great music keep it up 😊
Easy by the Commodores and Endless Love duet with Diana Ross!
“You Mean More To Me” from his first solo album. I used it the first to tell her I loved her. It was our wedding dance song. She’ll hear it again August 9, 37 years and counting❤❤❤!
The Commodores started out as a funk band and later on turned toward ballads. . Some of the early and later songs you might like include Sweet Love, Just To Be Close To You, Easy, Brick House, High On Sunshine, Three Times A Lady, This Is Your Life, Old Fashioned Love and Jesus Is Love.
Brick House, baby!! That will do it! Or is it, Britt House? LOL!
When Lionel sings the final word, you'll know the answer is yes PDC
That looks familiar. I think I was there. 1979? 1980? Roanoke, Virginia? I was there.
"Brickhouse" will rock you.
"Patch It Up" is another funky number if you're looking for up-tempo tracks, Britt 🎉
Just to be Close to You by the Commodores also when Lionel wrote a love song he usually sang it You would also like Jesus is Love which the Commodores usually closed their concerts with.
I was 12 years old when I first heard Lionel's voice and I have been hooked ever since.
Check out "Hello", "Stuck on You" and "Dancing on the Ceiling." Also check out his duet with Diana Ross of "Endless Love." After he left the Commodores, he had a great solo career and has won 4 Grammy awards. He also still tours!!
I’ll check them out!
@@brittreactshello
This near his departure from the Commodores. They were not liking the ballads and slower songs that Lionel was having great success with. They wanted to focus on more upbeat rock and R&B stuff.
Lionel Ritchie is the greatest writer of love songs in the R&B/R&R era. Listen to him doing the great break up song "Sail On", "Truly", "Penny Lover", "My Love", "You Are", "Zoom", "Easy", "Three Times A Lady", "Just To Be Close To You", and of course "Hello".
Lady (you bring me up)
The Midnight Special.
Best musical show ever.
Try Gladys Knight "Midnight Train to Georgia" or Rita Coolidge "Were All Alone", or Bobby Womack "Harry Hippie" "Sweet Caroline" or The Floaters "Float On"
Be a hero and react to "Sweet Love " by the Commodores. It was a huge hit that everyone seems to have forgotten. Their best song imo.
