  • Slab Stitcher has made the process of adding custom Inlays super easy! I've gotten a ton of questions on my Instagram asking how/where i get my inlays from. The system is very user friendly and only takes about 15 mins to add a custom touch to any of your woodworking projects! I'll include links to my Instagram as well as Slab Stitchers so you can get more information!

    Thanks for posting this. I have been looking for unique wood inlay templates and could not find much of a selection from the usual woodworking sources. I knew some clever person with a unused cnc would produce some. I’m checking out slab stitcher currently.

    That red button on your router is the shaft lock which greatly helps with bit changes...

    I found it took a lot of work with chisel to get the Texas to fit. I bought all parts from this company including centering pin; guide, bit.
    Not just the corners, I had to work on the curves too with chisel.

    juan, this router has a spindle lock on the router so only one wrench is needed for easy bit changing :)

    Can you do your own inserts with this kit or do you have to buy from them? Maybe using a different bushing?

    Is that main big acrylic frame necessary? or can it be done without it? For instance, just the Texas template?

    • @CastorWoodworks
      @CastorWoodworks  Před 3 lety

      Yes you need the frame because it allows you to clamp down the template.

  • @fordperfect1227

    there is a small pin on most routers and any plunge router where you can wedge in your template wood and set the depth. no need for two templates

    Try laying dental floss underneath the inlay to pull up the piece instead of drilling holes on your wood. Great video

    It would have been nice to show us how you made the state of Texas. You showed us how to make the hole for the state of Texas. But not the actual inlay piece.

    You really only need a single wrench to tighten and loosen the collet chuck. That red button is a spindle lock.

    • @shanemoss9647
      @shanemoss9647 Před 3 lety +1

      It’s easier with two wrench’s sometimes with palm routers not mounted. He uses the lock a few times. Sometimes mine gets tight and kinda hard to hold the router and button to break it loose.

    • @CastorWoodworks
      @CastorWoodworks  Před 3 lety

      @@shanemoss9647 the spindle locks are kind of a gimmick in my opinion. Using two wrenches is easier
