- You can use this technique for insetting a router insert plate or router lift into your router table, or for insetting floor tile into an outdoor table. By using the inset item itself to set guides, it's virtually goofproof!

Thank you! I've been looking for something like this. Appreciate the time you took to share.
Just built a large cherry countertop with 12" x 24" tile inlay for kitchen island. Used your method to set router guides and it worked great. Thanks for the tip.
do you have a picture of your finished cherry countertop with the inlay? We are attempting to do that in our kitchen also - with cherry wood for the countertops.
Thanks the video ! I’ve a requirement where I need to just put a marble slab on the top of the table . Can I just glue that slab ? Will that be strong enough to hold the slab to my wooden temple ?
Simple way and easy ..tq for sharing
Thanks for sharing those tips and the make!
☺☺👍
*EXCELLENT* ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😍
If you're making this in the summer, do you need the shims, since it will shrink in winter rather than swelling?
I am planning to make a pc desk and want to try this with a large desk pad
Good
If using this method to do a router table top inlay, will the plywood surface be a problem?
I know you say about wood expanding and contracting and yet until this natural process happens the edges left with a gap seem unfinished.
How can you get the stone out of a table??
Will this work on a butcher block tabletop?
Thanks for the tips - drilling the holes to get the stone out seems unnecessary. Why not just lay a couple of pieces of ribbon across your hole and then use that to lift the stone out?
The ribbon has a thickness and so knowing whether the slab is flush or not would be an estimate.
I could not find the right router bit. Can you direct me?
Hello, I'm trying to do this as well was wondering if you figured out the bit?
