  • This two-part webinar was presented to members of the International NGO Forum on 23 April 2021, aiming to encourage development of more effective management of risk. We start by challenging the way we think about risk, and continue by exploring how a mature risk mindset can lead to risk-informed programming.
Part 2. "From risk thinking to effective action"
Right thinking is not enough; it needs to be turned into action. In the development and humanitarian field, this is achieved by translating risk thinking into risk-informed programming. We need to build effective risk management structures, processes, and skills if we are to identify the real risks, manage them effectively, and report them accurately.
Magda Stepanyan explores how to shape a conducive environment for risk-informed programming, including a mature risk culture, and how to develop the critical skills that are required. She also addresses how to ensure that risk reporting occurs naturally as an output of a well-functioning risk system.
