I believe the reasoning for not going brass from factory is because the heater tee and heater hoses are maintenance items and both should be replaced after certain age due to deterioration. If you put brass on from factory, the chance of a hose going bad without giving the heater tee area a thought is a possibility and could leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere. Obviously if you’re changing them out for brass in the first place your probably putting new hoses on at the same time and have a good insight on maintenance and wear on your vehicle more so than the general public. Great video 👍
Yeah makes sense. Key point is to just make sure to check the hoses every now and then and always make it part of your check list before a big trip. These hoses were solid as I’m sure you could tell lol. Thanks Ryan!
Good stuff man, real helpful. Keep up the LC/LX vids!
Thanks Noah will do!
Awesome impressive great video on T replacement job with tips my next project, Thanks.
Why wouldn't you flush the heater core while you had the hoses apart? Just curious, that's all...
Thanks for the video!
I’m not that smart lol
Those dang tees. If they break you're dead in the water until you get a tow. Or have catastrophe failure
Thanks bro👍
👊
Hose clamps in description were tiny, may want to remove them from the description
Thank you. I’d honestly reuse the ones that were originally on there they should hold just fine.
@@rywanders you think so even if I go with brass?
@@Dc0lbyt22 yeah honestly the hose snugs up quite good alone I don’t see it coming off. I wanted to be extra but don’t feel it was necessary.
@@rywanders I’ll give it a shot, great video. I didn’t feel confident about doing it until I watched it.
@@Dc0lbyt22 Thank you! hope it goes well for you.
Do you remember which size Heater T Brass fitting you bought from Amazon? Sweet vid bro
Thank you! Should be a link in the description.
@@rywanders I saw the link but it had multiple size options!
@@kevinzhang7275 3/4"x5/8"x3/4" thanks I'll update the description.
What size are the hoses and Ts?
The T’s size are next to the link. I’m not sure about the hoses.
why did you change it, what were the symptoms?
You could see coolant crusted around the edge of the hose where they attach. So they were leaking. I also didn’t know if they were ever replaced and they are known for failure. You don’t want them to go and get stranded somewhere.
@@rywanders is it loosing coolant?
@@koza yes that would indicate a slow leak. The T’s get brittle from the heat I’ve the years. If they brake it will leak coolant and you will need to tow the truck or fix it roadside.
Where that T is going?
