Great explanation. I was sitting in my car trying to pair for the last 30 minutes, tried all different ways as directed from other videos or instructions. Not one of them mentioned that you only have 5 seconds to enter the pairing mode after starting the ignition.... thank you!

I’m here for the same reason. I think l have to take mine though. The steps were easy. Mine was always paired weird to begin with. It Remote starts with my car key and viper used to turn it off, but since car theft and battery changes I’m not having much luck reprogramming the viper fob. It just makes dinging noises and flashes orange. It reminds me of the game Simon without the extra colors 😂. Gotta laugh my stresses away. I’ll keep trying but I may end up at BB.

I have had the Viper system in my 2014 Passat for 6 years now, and the 1-way remote (like one in the video) started acting up (sometimes it worked, sometimes, it didn't).
I went to the guys that did the initial installation, and they tried pairing up two different remotes but failed.
Well, they do it all the time, so I was like, it's probably the car and not the process.
Turns out that: 1) they didn't do the 5 second rule, and 2) they did it with the door opened.
I then bought a replacement fob from Amazon and just tried to program it myself, and on the first try, I did it with the door opened. The light on the new fob wouldn't turn solid while pairing. I then did it exactly like in the video, and it worked perfectly.

My remote and starter module on my Accord un-paired somehow. Just wasn't working one day. Called Viper for help, and they emailed instructions on how to re-connect. Didn't work after over 20 attempts using their instructions. Turns out their instructions were wrong! Found your video...worked first time super easy! Thank you!

This got me so close. I was doing this all in the winter here at 30 degrees. I had the door closed and it never worked. Door has to be open also and it goes right into pairing mode. Thanks for video

I have a 2015 Tacoma with g key. I took to my installer and they were unable to activate the remote start on the ds4. Any advice you can give?

I know this was a year ago but for others... you need to have the drivers door open also! It was winter, I did it with door closed and didn't work until open THEN doing this process

Hey man, nice video, it is hard to find anything on these things... I have 7816 two way remote finally paired but the LED on the remote gives off 2 red beeps. I can't find anything on them as to why it is doing that? I did drop in a cr2032 3 v instead of the two cr2106 3 v batteries. I am suspecting thats the low battery alert?

Hi. I need to program a replacement remote. But I don’t have any button on my window antenna like you do! However, I do have a small (2”x3”) black box under the driver side dash board (under the steering wheel). That black box has an led light and a small push button on the side of it. Is that what I’m looking for in my car? And is it basically the same exact procedure as what you did in this video? Or a different procedure?

my original viper remote broke (same remote OP is using in the video) , can i buy a replacement remote of the same model and pair the replacement remote with the original kit in the car using the same steps in the video ?
Just got my father this system for father's day, and have it in my own car already. This process works perfectly in _my_ car, as described in the app when pairing a phone, but in my dad's car it refuses to go into pairing mode. The light just will not come on when the car is running whatsoever. Anyone have any ideas?

It won't unpair anything already paired to it. You can pair 10 remotes if you wanted to..lol

Hello. Great vid. I have the ds4+ and a directed t harness. Installed and was able to pair with my viper iphone app. Unable to start though. Vehicle locks/unlocks. I been hearing the ds4+ needs to be flashed for what vehicle it is in?
yes it needs to be flashed for your vehicle so it knows what firmware to run for the car. some cars can be wired up analog and just hardwired but most new cars need to be flashed
I have the ds4+ on my 14 dodge journey push button. I'm not getting it paired is there something else I got to do cause it has a push button start
I have used your video in the past to resync my remote starter and it has worked. But now I'm having trouble because when you press the viper remote three times I don't hear the same beeping as I heard in the past. It has a new battery in it. Any ideas for why it will not beep or turn orange?

I just tried this, and I too didn't hear the beeping. However, after following the steps and waiting about ten seconds (at the point where you're supposed to hear the beep), it still ended up working for me...
How do I connect to viper app
Hey, I'm trying to pair a 4 button 7857V remote to my DS4 and it flashes and beeps like its paired but the remote doesn't work. Only my factory key fob works, but the commands I send are confirmed on the viper remote with the green LED and beeps. I just cannot send any commands from the viper remote, it beeps negatively and flashes red if I try. I was assured from multiple sources that this remote will work with the DS4 to give me 2 way functionality, do you know what might be wrong?

Nice ... every time i hold down my viper remote starter the car starts and the alarm goes off at the same time I don’t know what’s wrong
If you have a factory alarm than there is a wire you must hook up called factory alarm disarm that will disable the alarm when you remote start it 👌🏾

I just got the ds4 installed with oem fob remote start. Only issue is range. Can I buy the 7816v fob and program it? Also will I still be able to keep my oem fob remote start function? Thanks again!!
The viper ds4 has a list of remotes that goes to it i can't remember if that fob does or not but there are 5 different fobs that this will pair to and pairing new remotes won't lose any oem functions from factory fob

I love viper but one area Compustar crushes them at is remote pairing. Any remote start made in the last decades programs with 5 ing pulses and done. Need to program a viper? Drop the dash and see what brain it is, pray it has a valet button. Play code breaker and try to find out what number the “X” is the is. Every viper alarm, keyless, remote start, remote start alarm programs different even model to model. Hop on one leg, rub you stomach and pat your head while turning the ignition switch, hit the button 5 times, hold the remote button for 5.73 seconds let go and within 3 seconds hold another button. Let go press a third button, solve world hunger and hope it doesn’t lose programming next week. Tighten up viper. .

How do you get it to use the oem alarm. When I use the oem remote it works but when I use the viper remote there is no lock sound to help confirm.
If your car has factory alarm then you probably need to hook up the factory alarm arm and disarm wires

I have this in my sorento however it doesn’t reconnect it’s just beeps then goes off any reason why
you have to make sure that the sequence is exact. pretty much the on ly thing that i dont like about the 1 button remote pairing. after it beeps the last time make sure you press it once more to connect. anything other than that check your remote
Is this the same process for a smartphone? I gotta new phone and it will not pair. I use the Viper App.
yes it is. make sure your app is ready with the bluetooth on and make sure you put the alarm in paring mode, should be down hill from there

2 years later and I gave up trying to pair my phone. The phone won't connect to the module and in turn the app won't find the module. Any ideas?
