1:30 wasn’t expecting the box throw in this one. Can’t wait for a review for something like… a cabinet table saw 😂
Haha! I know right? Truth be told I had already taken it out of the box. I’ve learned my lessons the hard way! 😂
Another great video! Thanks Brian!! Blessings!!!
Thank you so much Joe! Blessings to you as well!
Bought one today, and I love it!
Oh nice! Have fun! Lot's of fun things you can explore, best of luck theflickman!
the first thing i did for my 3d printer was print all of its own upgrades. turned my basic 3d printer into something really amazing. I really need to start printing more things again. its been sitting for a few years now. I have a bad habit of buying new stuff, using it a lot and then it sits.....3d printer, quest 2 vr headset, now my laser engraver. They're all amazing tools and I need to take better advantage of them.
It's so funny you say that Nathan. That's very similar to the way I work. I will use a tool like crazy. Forget about it for a while and then return to it. I'm planning on using the printer this week to record a video for a battery tool storage thing I'd like to make for the shop. Thanks as always for watching and commenting!
Great video
Thanks so muhc Michael, and thanks for watching!
Thanks!
OMG Paul! You are way way too kind. I can't thank you enough! I really don't deserve. Thank you for your generosity! I am very grateful to have such wonderful people watch my videos like you.
@@FlynndoggWoodwork you’re very welcome. I appreciate you. Look at lasers. I am very pleased with my purchase of a 10 watt. It makes very intricate “cuts”.
@@tpaulsmith7194 well, I really appreciate you as well! you know it is funny you say that about lasers. I get about one laser every month from companies that want me to do videos with them. I did one video on a laser and it did not do well. Stay tuned I'm guessing there will be a few laser videos in the near future.
Good job on the video and information. I bought some of those battery holding plastic screw on pieces similar to the ones you printed. I started to put them on the wall tool board and decided to see if I could replicate them out of oak. After some trial and error, I was successful (even though I had to pre drill and countersink them to avoid splitting them when I mounted them, I was able to use the outside edge with each battery, so I didn’t have to make two per battery, and I eliminated the center, just using the slot on the battery to suspend each one. They were challenging and fun to make, and in my minds eye, look better too. They’re built in basically a T shape (flat on the bottom leg and screwed to the board. The two arms of the T protrude are the thickness of the slot on the battery. I mounted them so gravity would hold the battery in place and all that’s required to get one is to slide it up off the T. I’ve got about 18 batteries and I built enough for about 24 batteries. They work great.
Oh my goodness Michael, that sounds amazing. This is one of the reasons why I love woodworking so much. It's like a big puzzle. Find something that you want to make or replicate and you can slowly build it yourself. I have never heard of anyone making battery holders out of wood. Such a great idea. I'm like you, I don't like the look of those plastic holders, and would much prefer them made out of wood. Thanks so much for sharing. Excellent idea!
I have had a cheapo 3D printer for about 4 years now and made loads of workshop tools with it. I am now considering upgrading because it's been so useful. I have also designed and modelled some of my own bespoke parts using Fusion 360. That unlocks a whole new world of creativity.
That is awesome to hear elpresidente! I was wondering what the process was for designing your own parts. Sounds like a program like fusion 360 is a great way to do it. I'm going to mess around with that next time I have some free time. Fusion 360 is so easy to use compared to a lot of those other programs! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Dang. I try to quit buying and I get pulled back in. lol. Nice one, Brian
Oh man, I know right! :) This one was a shocker to me. I've been resisting having one for a couple of years, but it really is quite amazing!
I have printed a ton of stuff for my shop with my bambu lab printer! Careful on your way down the rabbit hole.
Haha! That is awesome to hear huck! It really is quite nice. I have a lot of plans for it as I reorganize my shop! Thank you so much for sharing and watching.
I awake and start my day with craziness 🤪
A FlynnDogg video on Tuesday! By the Gods! This week may yet be salvaged!
And a new Co-Star! Future FlynnDogg. 😎
Questions!
1. Can you create your own designs for the printer?
2. Where will you store it?
3. Will you build a station inside your shop for the printer?
(I challenge you to make a workstation that will store supplies for the printer AND keep it safe from dust. If it can be done I know you're the guy that can do it!)
4. Refer to question 2. Build a 3D printer work station video!
5. Can we get an update review after you've used it for a little while? Pros and cons? Regret not buying a bigger or slightly more complex machine? Recommend or not?
6. Can you make that Bangood honing stop block jig? They stole it anyway! And FlynnDogg is 100% made in America 🇺🇸. 'Nuff said!
6. Does it make a good Margarita? 😂
That might be a different model
7. When will the drawing be held to pick some fans for the "Weekend build with FlynnDogg at his shop" bi-monthly contest?
C'mon, I had to try. But it's a good idea! I'm creating my bot accounts for extra entries as we speak!
Love your stuff my dude! Keep it going! Everyone smash a like in the least and subscribe to help out a regular dude that looks out for the community!
It's free, low calorie and makes you 10% sexier
Haha! You are too too kind and too funny sean. Excellent questions! Let me attempt to answer them to the best of my ability with my limited expertise!
1) Yes! In fact many of the files you can download appear to be creations from other talented people who have designed the items I showed especially in my back to the future segment. Now I have no idea how to do it, but would love to learn!
2) Currently I have it in our TV room so that I can watch it as I'm relaxing. This is something I will definitely want to keep away from the sawdust.
3) Good idea, now that you say that, I'm thinking maybe I could put it in my office, but lots of other things to do first! :)
4) love it!
5) That's a great idea. There are a number of tools I'd like to do an update on, this maybe a great addition!
6) love that idea. Now you're going to have me looking to see if there are any files avialabe. But that is exactly the rabit hole this tool takes you down. You think of something and then boom search for it and it is
basically free!
6) six again, I'm thinking maybe you already had a margarita! :)
7) That would be fun wouldn't it! :) Maybe if I ever get a 100,000 subs!
Thanks so much for making me smile today!
@FlynndoggWoodwork my editing was poor! I kept adding questions 😆.
Moving forward 6pm is margarita time!

I have to hire a 12 year old kid to get my TV to work right, I can't afford to hire him to run a 3-D printer as well. I am impressed with the advances in the precision of the printing quality, as the printers move out of the cubist period.
Haha! I get it! :) Luckily I have an 11 year old and two 9 year old's in the house that teach me how to do things all the time! :) Have a great week Pat!
Sadly mine along with a Resin Printer have been sitting in their box almost a year waiting for a space to put them. Looking forward to reviews/tips.
Oh man! That stinks! I have been keeping min in one of my seating areas in my house, surprisingly it has gotten a little bit of action while I work on my computer and watch tv.
Hi Mr. Flynndogg nice videoand informative. Are there many free files for accessories such as clips, guards, powertool accessories? Can you take a picture of something and run it through an app and print yet, something like the clip?
Excellent questions. There are tons of accessories availabe that other poeple in the community have created. That is where I've gotten all my files. What a cool idea. If there is a way to take a picture and have it create a deisgn based on that picture, I'm not aware of it, but man I like the way you think and I think that will be the future if it isn't already avaiable to do. I just don't know how to do it! :)
They are called 3d scanners. There out but I believe it's a fairly new thing.
@@a9ball1 Oh nice thanks for sharing a9ball1!
I've been wanting a 3d printer but I have very high humidity in my shop. Only 0.6 miles from the ocean. I just got a dehumidifier and if it works out I might take the 3d plunge.
First of all I'm extremely jealous you are only .6 miles from the ocean, secondly, I totally get the humidity factor. I am currently worried about sawdust with mine. I'm using mine in my house right now. I'm finding that a little more convenient as I can watch it while it prints in case there are any issues.
Great video as always Brian would love to have a 3D Printer they seem so cool to have and uses so many cool things to be made just need to get over my fear also. Thanks for sharing as always.
My pleasure Jim! I really liked this one as I think it is a good one for a beginner. Not sure if I will outgrow it quickly or not, but its nice to be able to start printing right away! Thanks as always for watching Jim!
I thought for SURE you would insert a b roll from Get Smart after you said , “would you believe”.. you miss that opportunity
Oh man! I'm not familiar with that line! :) Sounds like I missed one there. Thanks so much for watching Lordhog!
Where did you get that chicken file, could you post a link it’s hilarious!
Well shoot stephanie! I'm still very new to this. The file was available on the ankermake app and it let's you directly download the file to the 3d printer. I fiddle around with it a bit, but I can't seem to figure it out. If you are more familiar with 3d printers maybe you can figure it out? The title of the file was called "Gobble Tray: The Thanksgiving" , so that leads me to believe it is a turkey now! :)
How long did it take to print the chicken?
Great question Dave - That one took a bit I think. If I remember correctly it was like 8 hours, maybe a little less.
Cool. kobalt tools?
You guessed it! :) Too funny
@@FlynndoggWoodwork thanks
That seemed pretty painless and quick to first successful print. I've held back on this, waiting for time to thoroughly research printers, maybe I should just take the plunge on one to get started. Eventually I see my shop incorporating 3D printing, CNC, and laser cutting. Laser would be most useful right now for making precise templates of fine or intricate forms, but my project goals can't all be met by any one technology. Time to torture the credit card. 😁
Haha! I hear you. All of those items are on my list as well. CNC is definitely on my list next. I saw keith johnson woodworking did a pretty cool video using a laser to create box joints for drawer organizers and I thought that was such a cool idea. I've never thought about using a laser for templates. Makes total sense. I've always figured I need a cnc to do that. Thanks for the idea! and thanks for watching worstuserever!
I really enjoy your videos but the lighting issue is getting pretty bad I could hardly see most of the stuff you printed. Not sure if it's just all the lights in the shop or maybe a setting on your camera washing it.
Thank you for sharing Diggar72. It's completely my fault. I just switched to a new editing software and this was the first video I edited with that software. I'm working on it, but I appreciate the feedback! I'll figure out how to use is soon enough. Thanks for watching!
What does it cost
Great question. The current price on amazon is $319. Probably should have mentioned that. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching Frank!
Dogg, man, a 3D printer and no lathe? Well, if your son will use it, we understand. But, you did spend $400 on it and that's about half the price of a decent lathe...just saying. Did the app cost also? We got an MFT for you, right here. You're killing us, but we enjoyed the video, as always.
Haha! I know, I actually have a lathe in my cart on woodcraft right now. I'm in that stage of should I buy it or not?!?!?! Usually this means I'll end up with it next time I'm feeling in a good mood! :) Thanks as always for watching meat! :)
More Flynn dog footage
Haha! :) All you can handle! Thanks so much for watching!
