Hearing Karl cheering and celebrating always makes me smile 😂
0fp❤
"Karl has won!!!" A classic moment.
I have a friend who it's hard to make laugh out loud but when I can it's a very good feeling
Karl screaming out at 37:10 sounds like his most triumphant moment in life. love it
Haha and the transition into the song is perfect.
It’s brilliant hearing Karl that passionate
I know, so so cute. In every other version of that track he's muted out much sooner, I LOVE him cheering. That guy's brought me so many hours, weeks, months and YEARS of happiness.
Karl sounds like Chief Brody just after he shot Jaws 😀
Possibly my favourite moment of all the shows 😂
I love the 'Karl has won' moment. Best of the entire run of shows 😂
37:15 - have never heard Karl so animated, it was a thing of beauty 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
32:04 an underrated Pilkingtonism.
"Because bricks don't fall, in wars."
BUT BULLETS FLY!
Two of the best lead ins to songs in this episode. "Karl has won" into Dope Nose and "i'm not gay" into Karma Police. Both great moments
So was Steves "id like to sleep with a woman" into Rock The Kasbah"
"And I don't like lying" 😂😂
Karl’s bond impressions 😭😭😭 dying
"Are there any blind women living on their own?"
I love Steves creepy sad persona, it's quite funny and he fully embraces it. What makes it even better is that you know its somewhat genuine.
He's done you again Steve
You're probably aware, but Steve played the part of an extremely creepy-looking serial killer in a true crime TV series recently. Can't remember the name of the show or the killer, but if you Google it you will find it. He was PERFECT for the role, but I did wonder how he reacted when his agent said, OK, so I've got you a part in this thing, and it's an absolutely freaky looking guy.
@@arturobandini4078 just had a look it's called four lives.
It's about those Grindr killings years ago, looks really good.
@@therealryan1329 that's the one, yeah. Goggle eyed freak
@@therealryan1329 Yeah it was very good. I think he acted really well.
Probably shouldn't be too serious here, but the failings of the police in that case were shocking. I believe a report found that lazy homophobia was a huge cause.
'because bricks don't fall in wars' will never fail to make me laugh.
I was eating haribo when Karls bond impression graced my ears again, spent the next few minutes choking!
37:05
I will always love Steve for sticking up to Karl in these moments. Of course of the time they take the piss out of the guy (as mates do, really) but I feel he was always underappreciated for these bits! And Karl of course going insane because he beat Ricky just warms my heart every single time.
Steve has a better understanding of loyalty than Ricky, who is always turning Steve and Karl against each other and stirring the pot.
I wish it was on video
I love Steve Mitchell
I prefer Stephen Mitchlings
TheTerrorUforgot lol ;)
TheTerrorUforgot i'm partial to MECHANT! myself
Lol I prefer MECHANT
At least Mitchell's mum doesn't cut his hair
Karl attempting impressions is hysterical! I'd forgotten about this.
hi!!
Hello!
+Nuie Corbeau its nice saying hi to fellow gervais fans.. I haven't met any yet in person who has listened to these xfm shows, have you? I recon when I eventually do I'll be unhealthily excited and end being best friends or something lol 😘
+babababababa oik fuck me, you're weird.
+babababababa oik fuckin hell lad
Karl worriedly saying “I’m not gay…” into Radiohead’s Karma Police always gets me in this episode.
one of my favourite bits aswell 😄
Aww man, Karl's little cheer is so heartwarming
I love when Karl does the "Hellooo" 😂
I didn't realize Karl celebrating during "Dope Nose" and saying "I'm NOT gay" during "Karma Police" were on the same episode- What a classic!
Lmao the Luthur Vandross bit was great.
Underrated segment.
Luther was famously gay in the showbiz world it turns out.
Second COVID-19 re-listen!
I should’ve been listening to this earlier in quarantine probably would’ve kept me from losing my mind
@Yeokay I totally see your point. I could be wrong, but I think most people continuously re-listen but have months between relistens. At least, that's what I do. And yeah, you do remember things, but that's part of the fun. You also forget which episodes are which.
But, again, I get what you're saying. It's a valid point.
Same!
I’ve been listening to these on a loop as I drop off to sleep every night for about 5 years or so now. Still never fails to make me laugh.
Alright
Sorry to get sappy here, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE our little, secret RSK CZcams community.
This is the best thing on, and about, the internet.
There’s a subreddit of us as well.
Because bricks.... don't fall... in wars
True enough
people do
THEY DO THO
BUT BULLETS FLY!
"........ah forget it, next one" :D
I love how the 'Jim will fix it' joke has taken on another level in recent years. Imo it went from funny to hilarious.
Everyone knew about Saville back then too. Johnny Rotten was banned from the BBC in 1978 for calling Saville out.
@@ofrenic that's actually a myth about Rotten regarding Saville
Rotten wasn't banned from the BBC for that comment, he AND the sex pistols were black listed for other things their is no documentation proving it was the Saville comments that claim only comes from him but as I said the whole of the sex pistols were black listed for other things
Rotten was never truly banned anyway as he appeared on the BBC again two years after that Saville interview
It's simply a myth that Rotten was banned for that comment
Karl says ‘that was a good day’ when talking about his brothers wedding before Ricky interrupts. Never heard him reminisce before.
Tic-tacs!
Saw Caernarfon castle in September while on my first visit to the UK. It was fantastic. Wales was lovely and the people were great.
Covies are certainly not great..
Glad you enjoyed it. 😊
"Tarmac it."
"You On My Mind In My Sleep" - apparently Richard Ashcroft never heard of the word "dream" before.
high five
Hahaha I love hearing about Karl giving away cigars at the youth club, it always reminds me of that scene in Pinocchio
"Don't walk through a river full of snakes."
"Good advice."
full of logs?
@@AtnaRecords1 Good one
@@AtnaRecords1 Lake, you said river, Lake, you said river.
I saw an old man carring a Twix yesterday. I have still to see one eat it. 😂
Still never seen it, although I did once see an old man sat on a park bench eating pringles.
Probably for his grandson, he stuck to his old man toffees in the end
19.40 "PERCY SUGDON! LICENSE TO KILL! "
creasing up
James Dearlove that one makes me actually laugh out loud every time.
@@craigmcmillan7401 Same here! However, I don't understand it (I'm American). He makes the same joke in an After Life outtake with the chick who was in Extras. What's it mean?
@@studkickass513 phyllis pierce and percy sugdon were characters in coronation street which is set in manchester
@@magicaIpineapple thank you!! So, is the joke that Phyllis and Percy speak like that, and that Karl's imitation sounded like them?
@@studkickass513 yes exactly that.
if it wasnt for karl actively saving these shows each week, we wouldn't be listening to it
Pilky's makin' history
@@JHA854 This tickled me way too much
32:06 one of my fave ever XFM moments
Dicky Anders are you the original dandy randers?
8:20S:cigars and dildos.R:same thing.
this is why i love this trio..quick witty and subtle..sometimes extremely so
@Derek Knight Agree~All 3 are equally funny and quick-witted in their unique style..What makes them my ultimate fav is that they compliment each other so well, including setting up jokes for the others knowing what's coming.
37:10
One of my favourite RSK bits. Karl going mental.
I know I’m a Ricky Steve Karl XFM noob when this is Probably just my 3rd or 4th relisten lol, best wishes to all of you listening again or for the first time as well!
This is one of the best XFM episodes. Good banter and funny anecdotes :)
Long Live Man Moth!!!!! Love from Devon xxxx
"That's mental. I can't think what's happened. Here's Radiohead."
Thats what Thom Yorke said when they formed 🤣
37:12
The only time I’ve ever heard Karl so expressive
Steve Mitchell is my dads name lmaoo
The Highbury Clock amazing
Well done...
Excellent
48:40 is one of my favorite links of this whole show. I want a full cut of it followed by the song. For some reason it just fits.
"Would you like to see us hug? Ooo."
Man Moth, thank you for helping us all through the self-isolation/quarantine. 🥳🙂👍🏻
7 months later, back for the umpteenth time.🥳👍🏻
40:15 -
"Ok. A bloke, just in his swimming trunks, walks in to a swimming pool full of man eating sharks. He walks around for a bit and slowly gets out the other side, and he's not bitten or anything. Why not?"
"Cos they'd already eaten?"
"No. They're starving hungry."
"H...He walked through the water..so.."
"Yeah."
"It wasn't like, there wasn't, like, a bridge?"
" No. He actually was in the water, soaking wet, the sharks..."
"He, uh, he had like a metal suit on?"
"No, he was naked apart from swimming trunks."
"Um. They were real sharks?"
"Real sharks."
"Swimming about?"
"They were real sharks, man eating.."
"Starving"
"Hungry, yeah."
"They were really hungry?"
"Yeah."
"This fella gets in to the same pool?"
"Yeah."
"It's the same pool."
"Exactly."
"He walks right... he gets in the steps, he walks down, he walks across, he's in the water, up to his neck and the sharks are near him?"
"Yeah, they're attacking him."
"They're attacking him??"
"They're actually attacking him."
"But he still gets out ok?"
"Yeah."
"Walks out the other side and he's not, he hasn't got a mark on him."
"....I dunno."
"Go on Rick, what's the answer?"
"...Well, I was lying about the sharks..."
"There weren't any sharks in there?"
"No, I was lying about the sharks. Complete lie. I just made it up. It was just an empty pool."
".......Well that's just stupid." xD
Cheers
+Joey Lock yeah, thanks for the script, we all watched it mate..
That's our point, they're rubbish.
Ha!
Sorry, Dave!
"oh... this is too much"
Lol I love when they take him to the BAFTAS and he thought it was shit. 😂
One of the best episodes by far! Karl's impressions and then his outburst! Incredible!!
Coming back around to this episode for the 10th time and remembering what Karl thought dog eat dog was actually about! X´D
@41:52 ¨Confended and Confused!¨ :D
Thank you Man Moth for your efforts, they are well appreciated! ^^
Long live the Holy Trinity of Comedy Gold!
\m/ ♥ \m/
"Because... bricks don't fall.. in wars..."
Kills me off everytime
37:00 hahaha Karl happy
+Belody Epic I love when Ricky gets proved wrong, you can tell Karl has been waiting to rub that moment in for months.
+Joey Lock lighthouse lights are on through the day though. in case of adverse weather. fog etc..
+tyler pat bateman durden Don't take this away from Karl
😀
16:21 🎵 Woke up today, looked at your picture just to get me started...🎵
That's FILTHY!! 😂😂
Shame on HEART 106.2!!🤣🤣
Impressions start at 18:25
The impressions kill me xD 1 of the best episodes imho. Hearing about their early gigs and overall, a cheery day. Tights and cigars for everyone! PS - I bet lighthouse keepers get knackered from walking up the steps to turn the light on.
Definitely one of the best episodes.
Oh god when Steve goes on about Jimmy Saville. ...
Even funnier now init
In Xfm series 0 Steve outs Philip Schofield 17 years earlier than Phil outed himself
@@kylesmith8135 really? You have a link?
@@AA-fn9xz I will get it for you when I get home
@@AA-fn9xz search CZcams for XFM series 0. There's only a few episodes so it won't be long before they start naming closeted entertainers like Andy Peters and Phillip Schofield. It's quite funny
Alternative title - "Bricks don't fall in wars."
How did they get away with this haha. "Kuntz" the composer. Childish but hilarious. Maybe I'm just drunk
"Because bricks don't fall in wars" ... An underrated Karl quote.
I was lying about the sharks.
Thats just stupid
4:17 - A shag was the one way you definitely didn't want your appearance on 'Jim'll Fix it' to end
“There’ll be a Gareth Gates day in 50 years or something”
Get Off Gates.
15:48 "cus I remember it was appalling" hahah Steve kills me
45:15 21 years later, she’s going to be the Queen in a couple of weeks. 👸🏼
God, another one of the immortal episodes. Man Moth, I reckon it could be either "Percy Sugden: Licensed T' Kill" or "I Was Lying About the Sharks".
22:22 OOHHH HE'S DONE YOU, STEVE!!!
We'll have to get Chris in!
They should've done the lateral thinking challenge a lot more lol. It was great.
A better solution to that one about the two people born on the same day of the same mother and father is that they were born on the same day in different years
Without fail, every time I listen to this episode, I have to go listen to dope nose
"we'll have to get Chris in" is an underrated moment
The way people talk to Karl “You’re a lucky boy aren’t you, going to the BAFTA’s with Steve?!”
listening to ricky fail to think of builders for so long was painful, swear he aint done a days work in his life lol. im not even a builder and its the first thing i thought of
His dad was a builder
About that shark thingy, you could say that it was a very shallow pool, so shallow that the sharks couldn't swim around
"Do you want a cigar?"
Karl laughing gleefully at 37:15
“Bricks don’t fall in wars, but bullets fly”
Was that Twain?
I'd love to hear one of Ricky's phone-in shows.
Rodger Moore
"Sorry Dave" Those who pay attention are rewarded lol
Is that Karl laughing at 37:13? Or is that part of the song or someone else?
+TheLittleFrey Either Ricky, or another dude in the studio or wtv...
That's Karl. A rare moment when he not only laughs but laughs hard in victory. Ricky even explains this afterwards. x
I can’t even picture him making those noises
definitely not the song, although I thought that for a second as well. Definitely not Ricky. It's actually creepy to think that's Kárl.
Though, it's only season one. He wasn't quite as disillusioned back then.
Does anyone else pick up when Steve's talking about the Fantasy Island Roadshow and about "I want to be a pirate and have a shag", and then him and Ricky mention Jim'll Fix It and say "it was like those letters to Jim'll Fix It to meet 5 Star and if something happens then so be it"..... if they knew back then what they were joking about was oh so true....
There were rumours back then about Savile. There was a documentary in 2000 about it.
allways makes me chuckle how ricky pronounces "gone" "GARN"
Karls James Bond 🤣 he should have said Percy Sugden Dr Nowt
So I’m trying to be Scottish ?
Perhaps a bit more specific than that, Sean Connery
51:40
"Dont walk through a river full of snakes"
"Good advice" 😅
Lol Karl was fed up by the end haha.
"You know I really admire your...you know big fan of yours."
"I really admire your big fanny? What did you say?"
😂
The light not being on in the day is kinda the whole point of the lighthouse keeper!
OMG im a huge Luther Vandross fan, so that was so hilarious!!
Hi there!!😊
Same here its the 2nd verse he starts with that line. 🤣
Steve's memory of Fantasy Island is being mashed together with The Love Boat, which was on at the same time and on the same network.
mine is. and I've never even seen Fantasy Island. I'm not even sure why the fuck I watched the Love Boat...
Fantasy Island n the Love Boat Gislane n Jeffery liked these shows.
24:44 I want Karl to do that for longer and I want to make it my ring-tone
I’d pay $100 for this
“We’ll have to get Chris in”
gets a dog winnin a prize en that
I wonder if Steve Mitchell realises the computer was invented in Manchester
Karl: "Because bricks don't fall in wars", hmm, I swear bombs have been around for a while, and I dunno if you've tried it, but bombing a house - well, the bricks just can't take it. They need to evolve.
Mind Hive "But bullets fly!" xD
49:16 one of my favorite Karl quotes
51:00 "We'll have to get Chris in"
Karl is pretty quick when he wants to be.
“Because...bricks don’t fall in wars”
The lighthouse keeper had been painting that day. Extra shattered.
