DPS Recovers 23 Illegal Immigrants Smuggled Inside Flatbed Trailer

- DPS Troopers were led on a short pursuit after the driver of a white-truck tractor towing a flatbed trailer failed to stop for a DPS commercial vehicle safety inspection in La Salle County. The driver finally stopped and fled the vehicle on foot. DPS Troopers and law enforcement agency partners then discovered 23 illegal immigrants concealed in the floor of the vehicle’s flatbed trailer without proper ventilation.
The group of illegal immigrants included 15 males, six females and two juveniles from Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala. One illegal immigrant was treated for dehydration and transported to a local hospital. All 23 were referred to Border Patrol.

While you have people that actually live here they were born here they have papers and sky is the limit. They can be anything they want to be, but yet some of them are on the side of the street, begging for money, trying to get a hand out from the government.

When you are born in a place where everything is given to you , you start perceiving this type of life as you don’t have to earn a living. You start expecting things to come to you because that’s why you’ve known. Some parents skip the part where they are supposed to teach their children about effort and then reward. Just because we live in a well developed country and have abundance in money, food and liberties doesn’t mean it will all be handed out. That’s where folks get it twisted.

Thank goodness those people were rescued by the responding LEOS. They should be processed out of this country but they are human beings deserving of dignity and respect. My deepest respect goes out to those DPS troopers, county sheriff's deputies and USBP agents who worked together to save these folks from unimaginable peril and misery.
