Jake you are a fantastic spoksman and you have lots of great information
Thanks Harley
How is your father doing
Hay Jake have a great weekend
You should try and put a 27.5 front wheel and leave the 26 at that front and make it a mullet over all really interesting video keep the good work up!
Thank you, glad you liked it. Youâre right, thatâs the plan, watch out for the next one, itâs exactly what you have suggested đ
Might have to change the front fork .
Nice video Jake, really inspiring
Keep going brother â€â€
your new rig sure look the part! now I know what to get for my grandson! Keep braaping!!
Thanks!
Great job đ
I have Santa Cruz and I was riding with you at Beasley
Yeah I remember you! That was when we were shooting some of these clips!
Yeah but know I got a specialised e bike
@@MTBMadness51 Good on ya bro đȘ
Wow your so amazing your bicycle it so beautiful thanks dor sharing this video ..your new friend
Thanks and welcome
great video Jake, thank you! Do you know which dropper you have fitted to the Marin, please?
thank you Marco and Manuel
Hi Marco and Manuel! Glad it was helpful, its an Xfusion Manic 100mm dropper post. Itâs actually quite tricky to slam it all the way down. But there is a way to do it but the cable gets kinked so the actuation is not great.
It really depends on the standover
Get on a YT Primus Jake!!
I have the 29" Large RIft Zone 1 and it's been a great bike. Just wondering what your experience has been with the xfusion o2 pro r rear shock? I have heard that the rear shock can loose a decent amount of air over time.
Hi there! The xfusion O2 shock, it is okay, I haven't had any problems or failure in terms of pressure. However it's really difficult to dial, on normal 30% sag, it bottoms out very e easily, even at 20% sag it bottoms out sometimes even on a lip of a jump which is so annoying. If I put more pressure then it becomes quite harsh. I've been looking for volume spacers to fix it, but I can't find any. I will try to fit a volume spacer from a Fox DPS shock, and hope it works.
I wanted to upgrade the shock but its is very difficult to find a good one that will be much better than the xfusion, the 190x51mm or 7.5 x 2" size is really rare in today's standards.
@@RidesWithJakeThanks for the reply. Hopefully the shock holds up well in the long run. I might also order a DPS volume spacer because I also have that problem with bottoming out.
hi Jake my 10 yo boy would like this bike. What dropper post did you spec yours with? What other upgrades did you use and were they worthwhile? Thanks and great work.
Hey AJ, That's great pretty sure your boy would love it. I put an XFusion Manic 125mm drop dropper post, if your boy is on the smaller size you can go for 100mm, the TranzX lite dropper post is a good option too, that's the one on the Polygon D24X.
As for upgrades, I got a bunch of hand-me-down parts from my dad's bike.
I think for this bike, dropper post is definitely necessary, and then I would look at replacing the brakes once he gets into really steep trails.
Thanks and appreciate it, glad it helped.
@@RidesWithJake thanks Jake. Did you have any issues with the dropper post fitting into the Rift zone 26 and did it function smoothly? I read somewhere else that it can can't drop down all the way due to a curve in the bike's post. Also, did you spec it with lighter hubs and 26 tyres , given that the ones they come with are heavy - what do you use?
How tall were you on this video? Or when you started riding this? My son is 132cm now and both the 24 and 26 riftzones are on sale. Not sure which one to get for my son if I'll get the 24 which fits him now or will he be tall enough next summer to ride the 26. TiA
Iâm 135cm, and I was riding a 24â Norco before this. Check the standover height of the 24â vs the 26â if it he can reach the ground for the 26â Iâll go for that.
The other thing to consider is how easy it is to get a 26â wheelset later given the non-standard specs of the rift zone jr
One advantage for getting the 24â is it comes with shorter 152mm cranks vs 170mm on the 26â
Can you throw a link to the crankset you went with?
Sure, itâs a goldix 140mm from aliexpress www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005804968565.html?_randl_currency=AUD&_randl_shipto=AU&src=google&src=google&albch=shopping&acnt=708-803-3821&slnk=&plac=&mtctp=&albbt=Google_7_shopping&albagn=888888&isSmbAutoCall=false&needSmbHouyi=false&albcp=19373925530&albag=&trgt=&crea=en1005005804968565&netw=x&device=m&albpg=&albpd=en1005005804968565&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD6I-hGZA4YoGOyyBcWHqcQffe3fh&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8Pu198qBgwMVq6pmAh1tPg4iEAQYByABEgI3tfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&aff_fcid=3bc60af1a2c44dfaaa9c4193b041008b-1702098488612-02877-UneMJZVf&aff_fsk=UneMJZVf&aff_platform=aaf&sk=UneMJZVf&aff_trace_key=3bc60af1a2c44dfaaa9c4193b041008b-1702098488612-02877-UneMJZVf&terminal_id=f27839b302e846c7bbc1fe0ec0bd4626&afSmartRedirect=y
I am on a 26 full suspension now i probably won't get a new bike until i can fit a 29 as a front wheel because they role better and wont grow out of it easily so i dont have to get two more bikes
Yeah, 26" is a lot of fun. When I can fit a 29" I will probably keep the 26" as a slopestyle bike.
@@RidesWithJake I will probably give my 26 to my sister
Can you please review a dirt jumper I would appreciate it if you do
Hey Jack, I don't own one right now as most 26" dirt jumpers are still a bit too big, but yeah good idea. I might make a comparison video
@@RidesWithJake all good thank for replying.
