Thanks for this video, I've been riding a 24" Norco hard tail for the past year, and thanks to your recommendation we're going to get a Norco FS1 24" soon. I was deciding between the Norco FS1, FS2, and a used Commencal Clash 24. And based on the reviews, I'm going for the Norco FS1.
Thanks a lot for your reviews, insights and tips, it's really helpful. You really have a niche for us Kids (and Dads) who are riding together on the trails.
    Subbed! Thanks.

Short cranks are great -- we currently have 102mm cranks on my son's 24" -- tried to move him up a little when we moved up from 20" but he complained about wanting more ground clearance.
For my own bike I dropped down to 152mm with no noticeable negatives and ran most of last year trying out 140mm. 140mm gets a little harder to apply leverage and generally requires gearing to be a little lower, but I've adjusted well enough that I'm 50/50 on whether to keep them or switch back to 152mm.

What was the 2nd fork you mentioned? You said it comes under several brands with a carbon brace but never gave it a name to google. Many thanks.

Thank you! Loved it as we are looking for one soon. You mentioned a hard tail may be better. How do? I know they are lighter and more efficient. We have lots of rocks and roots here in Kansas and the occasional trip to Bentonville . Was looking at a 1k-ish hard tail or the Marin 24-26 or reaper

Yes, much lighter and less expensive...Bentonville would be perfect for a hardtail. Full suspension bikes and flatter terrain and most 24 full sus can be slow going...the exception is the Maxwell 24 as it’s light weight/hard tail geo.

The Bike Dads awesome. Thank you. So when would you go for full squish over hard tail? We are mainly trying to dial up confidence on jumps and drops

@@FlatLander121 Depends on the skill and strength of the kiddo in addition to the terrain he/she rides. Lift access and shuttling for sure. If they are non-complaining strong climbers and riding steep/rough tracks...go for it.

What do you think of the Cube Stereo 240 Pro in regards to specs and geometry? Thinking about getting this one for my little one.

Great Bike, 130 cranks a nice touch, but hard to swallow the price compared to a YT primus which is very similar bike.
