- 13 kids were born in just over a week!! So many new cuties in the barn! Their father is Texas Hold’em and he is polled with blue eyes, so many of the kids will not grow horns and have very sweet baby blues! Today we let the littlest ones out to meet each other! May’s single doeling Rama is just one day old, but she held her own with babies who are up to a whopping 4 days old! Tomorrow we might see if we can get the big kids and the little ones all together for some hopping good fun to celebrate an exciting month of May! Yes, I'd be much more inclined to want goat's milk or cheese from Sunflower Creamery but, alas, I'm over 1500 miles away.
I always felt that way. I imagine keeping their surroundings and the goats themselves clean is a good way to keep them relatively disease free and very little illness in their lives. Anytime I see a farm like that I imagine it’s a lot of work to keep it that way but it’s worth it.

The quiet daily rhythms on your peaceful farm are the perfect balm for my stressful life. I love how no matter what is going on in the world, the goats calmly go about their day. I just saw a video on another channel from a woman who had her land cleared by a herd of 40+ billy goats over a two day period. They did an amazing job of it! We REALLY need a service like that here in Florida, where invasive kudzu (potato vine) can choke acres and kill off everything else in it. I’ve read that the only way to truly rid land of kudzu is goats, because they’ll pull up the roots and consume those too.
So if the billy goats born on your farm need an occupation, and a Winter holiday (Winter is the dry season here-best for building and land clearing) I KNOW they’d be kept busy here in Florida! All you would need is a sun loving friend with a trailer, two herding dogs, portable fencing (likely solar electric) and 40+ hungry billy goats would be very busy indeed!
Oh, and Walt Disney World has some forest on the North side of their property with a longtime kudzu issue. That might be one place to start!

Genuine Question, is the Ram bred with all the Does naturally or do humans collect and introduce his DNA?
I can't imagine he'd do it all himself due to the amount of goats on the farm- but at the same time Rams are pretty feisty and energetic.
3 boys did it all by themselves in three shifts! :)
