You can find all the sweetest baby goats here! 60 playful little goats are born on our Maine farm each spring and they love to run, play, hop and snuggle. We love each member of our herd like family. Each goat has a name and distinct personality and every goat born here is honored with a long happy life. It is the least we can do for all the joy and delicious milk the goats bring us! Little baby goats are getting hoppy.
I love how in the first week, baby goats lead into every hop with their head! It’s as if they have to gather up enough steam and courage to get their feet off the ground. They getting stronger and more playful every day. Some of the big kids have figured how to hop out of the kid sleepover stall and back with mom before I get out to milk in the morning…clever rascals! Today is in the 90s so we let the kids out early to play so they could spend most of they day in the barn stalls relaxing. We’re bringing them plenty of water. Just one more day and temps should be more normal.

It is always such a relief once all the goats are fed and content! We work fast in the morning to get everyone breakfast and out to pasture!!

Oh my! The last few days have been a blur of new baby goats arriving! So many cute new friends just finding their hops!! The contrast between the big kids and the little kids is so fun! I’ll have to show you that in the next video! Today it’s all about the new little buddies!

Amelia had three matching kids: Neddick, Narra and Nore about a week ago and today they really came onto their own! While their favorite thing to do is snuggle up with their mom in their stall, they also like to get out and have some fun! Suddenly they are bursting with skills.

Saturdays are a blur of milking, chores, getting goat milk fudge ready for the shop fridge, morning yoga, visitors through the day, flipping the air bnb, making cheese and getting all the goats fed and ready for sleep. A miracle every time! Today Amelia had three sweet fluffy white kids! Super easy birth, just 2-3 pushes for each! The last one came out back legs first no problem! They all look like mama! The goat babies had such a fun time this morning chasing each other and copying the most impressive leaps of baked if shavings! I could at h them all day! The youngest kids are almost 2 weeks and the oldest is just over 6 weeks! New babies are due any time now!!

I love morning on the farm, but it is also the noisiest time of the day. Everybody wants to be fed at once and set out to pasture. With 25 baby goats and 30 adults that takes a little bit of sorting and time in the meantime there are a few minutes of mayhem, but then, peace. Everyone is fed and watered and has plenty of hay and is ready to lounge and play.
