I Bought this on sale for 1199 plus 100 off for new store card that I just paid off immediately so 1199 after tax.. I am loving it! I have a regular size yard and had a self propelled honda that would take about an hour to mow and you had to stop to unclog the mower or dump the bag.. This machine is a little beast cuts and munches nicely. There are some corners this mower cannot get to, but mowing time is decreased to maybe 45 leaving time for a lil weed wacking. Mowing now puts a smile on my face, the extra time and energy I have goes to other landscaping needs, my yard looks better because I mow more often now. If you are on the fence its worth the money! Cub cadet if you are reading this please send me a bagger to fit the cc30h for the honest good review😉
Cutting the lawn for the 3rd season now. Great little mower. Have fixed the 'turns over but won't start' problem by modifying the electric gas shut off carburetor solenoid. Installed a manual gas shut off valve in the fuel line instead. Runs like a beast now. It's a pretty simple design as far as most mowers go. The only down fall is all the government/lawyer mandated safety switches, but those can be bypassed as needed. Happy mowing to y'all. rocket
The "H" stands for "Hydrostatic" as in the type of Transmission - I love mine, it's a bit 'jerky' on uneven ground - and boy! could it use some shocks! - I mows well, mulches well, and bags well (with the add on bagger) - Going from Forward to Back can jar your teeth a bit.. there's no..'smoooth' easing going on there. the harder you press the pedal the faster she goes. With future reviews.. this author could produce some very well put together reviews.. 'practice makes perfect'
I agree with you that it could use some shocks on the seat, after mowing my large lawn my back gets a little numb. I still love it though, I like that it's a rear engine so that you can see what's right in front of you and I like the 30 inch deck because it can fit thru my small gate between my front and back lawn. I don't find the light bright enough to mow in the dark so I jerryrigged one of my Milwaukee M18 Fuel lights to the front bumper and it is super bright making it really easy to mow in the dark! As for the hitch Cub Cadet make all sorts of things to attach to the hitch including trailers and spreaders etc. you can check them out on their website. I also like how it has the adjustable steering wheel and the adjustable seat! I think the fact that it has grease points on it to help the components last longer. Overall it's a great mower and I love it!
I bought a 30 H 2 yrs ago and that motor will pull just about anything. I bought a snow blade for it that fit on a ryobi and it has no problem pushing snow.
I recently purchased a 2017 ( really) like new condition! It is not hydrostatic, has a 6 speed manual trans but everything else is the same. I wanted the manual trans because I turned it into one of those disable buggy’s that are all cheaply made and electric 😷 . I live on 20ac , elec scooter don’t cut it so now I. Took the mowing deck off, a little bigger tires and now I have a awesome buggy!
it does have a backup. just disengage the PTO and step on the little pedal behind the accelerator pedal. The manual will tell you how to mow backwards also.
My BIGGEST complaint with my Cub CC30H - is that the Wheel Base is Wider than the Blade.. this smashes down the grass as you mow.. causing you to have to 'remow' areas... additionally, there's no BRUSH effect to 'stand Grass that has been run over back up again.. My main tip: MOW SLOW.. not real slow.. but not with your foot mashed on the pedal either.. Mow TALL (My blade has never been lower than 4 all summer long) and as often as you like.. Mowing Tall.. and Mulching HELPS the grass grow better.. Hearing protectors with AM/FM radio and AWAY YA GO!
I just bought the Troy Bilt version of this machine, called the TB30R Hydro. I went with the Troy Bilt brand because it comes with a Briggs and Stratton motor vs. the Powermore in the cub cadet. You don’t get the deck wash feature with the TB though, which I really don’t care for anyhow.
Cub cadet motors are pressure lubrication with filter, briggs engines are splash lubed. Not sure which be better, but Powermore engines seem well made on info on web. Had lawn mowers, walk behind years ago, briggs engines. Both engines developed bad exhaust valves (flat heads), I maintain my equipment. Likely briggs today are better made today. I hope for the best from my Cub Cadet. This cliff, Aura's husband.
Hi, after all this time, how do you still feel aboug this mower. We are looking at it and so far after much researsch, it is number 1 on our list. We have lots of trees to mow around I(may discounnet the safety switch for reverse to make this easier, Our kids and grandkids are grown now). Would you buy this mowere again and did you you ovecome the issue with the belt coming off when you went into reverse? Blessings - K&C
Snapper made a great mower 20 years ago. Federal safety standards ruined it with all the interlocking features that require you to disengage the blade to go backwards which is a hassle. Their "stand-up" feature made maintenance easy but it didn't overcome the hassle of disengaging the blade. I just bought one of these and didn't even consider the new Snapper which is now a Briggs& Stratton product.
Thx for the review. Just bought same mower. But right away the PTO belt keeps coming off every time I switch from reverse to forward. You have any issues like this? Any idea how to fix? Thx!
Hello... it does have a back up * Turn the key to the left push the button light comes on!!! : ) Ready to back up but you need to push the go to the back... Then ready to roll...
Hello did you check underneath the cutting deck? Maybe there’s so much grass up there it’s throwing the balance off or your blade could be out of balance. I would start there. Thanks
My Cub Cadet cc30h starts making a lot of whining noise after a few minutes hauling. Not sure if I am putting too much weight in cart. Is this damaging the Hydrostatic transmission??
Does it only do it when hauling? If so I’d reduce the amount of weight. Check the owners manual and see what it says. I no longer have mine and never hauled anything.
My investigation says that Covid and moving operations back to the USA has forced them to use a brigs eng. after 2002. No oil pump to lubricate moving eng.parts and no oil filter causes them to use splash lubrication where it just slings the oil to lube.internal eng .parts.I am going to wait for them to start using cub cadet eng. again.
Hi. I just picked one of these up. I feel like there is excessive vibration with the blade engaged. Of course Home Depot doesn't have another to compare it to so it's nearly for me to know. Have you felt this or does yours smooth out once up to speed?
Hi, no mine hasn’t had any vibration whatsoever. Did you check the blade to make sure it wasn’t damaged during shipping or it was installed correctly? I still really like mine. Best little rider:)
So another local store was having a Cub Cadet demo day and I test drove the same model and had the same mild vibration. I believe it’s just normal. Not enough to bother me anyway. Thanks for the reply. Just used it this weekend and perfect for my needs.
@@jamesn.4892 I just got mine today and I noticed the same thing, a little vibration but it cuts ok. My only complaint is I wish it had a wheel on the deck to keep it even when cutting. Also, I wish the throttle had more RPMs at full speed. But Cub Cadets are well built and are highly recommended in almost all reviews.
Danny D I agree. If there are any little hills of valleys the cut can be a little uneven. I think wheels on the deck would help but I don’t know of any in this style that have them.
Engine is no longer made by cube cadet. In my estimation the brigs eng.with no oil pump and no oil filter is not as good. With Covid and shutting down to move operations back to the USA they are using in my estimation ,a eng.that is not as good as in 2002 .
I was confused too...the oil plug is inverted. Use a socket extension bar to remove the plug. The plug has a square shape and the socket bar fits right in. My father in law who's an auto mechanic had to show me or I would've never figured it out. I was about ready to siphon the oil out.
Per the owners manual it is rated for slopes up to 12 degrees. I’ve towed a 200lb cart up a slight hill with it and though it certainly requires extra throttle it climbs the hill no prob. I weigh 170 if that helps at all.
I went out to double check mine and when you lift up the seat there is a knob underneath that you pull out and can slide the seat closer or farther out. There are three or four settings.
Your salesman meant himself high out put salseman. LOL. I am geting ready buy one of these. Will be turning 75 soon and walking is just too hard. But I still enjoy mowing my yard.
PS my 30" Rear Engine Poulan Pro rider has a USA built 10.5 hp Briggs it's also been stellar hasn't skipped a beat powerful & smooth running. I'm thinking most engines are pretty well 'sorted' these days regardless of where they're made. But its great to buy USA whenever possible. Heck, my Mercedes ML500 is 'made in the USA' [Alabama], as are all Benz SUVs...

@@chevy5137 where are the grease points?? Had no idea!

What is the highest setting in inches that you can mow at with this cub ? Thanks

You’re welcome
Really good mower never fails me
Snapper the original single blade riding mower company has a 33 in and they are very good quality if you ever want to check into them. About $1900

H is hydrostatic transmission
Just bought the same one
I wonder if it's big enough for my yard
I have .4 acre 30 to 45 minutes
I have one that and it vibrates really bad, I got mine in 6/26/20 and I can’t keep it running today.

I would have liked to see how you put it in reverse, do you just push that little petal?
Yes reverse is done with the same pedal as forward.
Nice review! I have one on the way. It should be here next week. Was there any assembly on yours? Nice 'vette BTW!
Thank you! No assembly whats so ever6 and the dealer even delivered it. Thanks for the compliment.
Thank you! Sorry for the long wait reply,
The new ones have briggs engines. were they having issues with the CubCadet OEM ones?

How remove battery ?
I wonder what the light is really used for. Who is dumb enough to mown his grass late in the evening and make that noise?
People who live next to you or out of city limits.
I am. fuck the neighbors. I own them.
that's it? no more videos? Do you still have it or is it scrap metal already?
Lol no I want to make more videos but not very good at it. Yes I still have it and is a great machine. I highly recommend it. Thanks

Does this come with a drain hose for the oil?... how much oil does it take thanks
Denise NT yes it comes with a long slender funnel to stick under the oil plug to drain away.
every model is different, I can't really find the oil plug Tech told be it is a bolt that has to be turned with a tool. Im so confused.
Denise NT if it’s the CC30H they should all be the same. I believe it’s a square head bolt. I can check for sure when I get home.

just bought one!!!!!!!!!
Nice you’ll like it I still like mine alot
The engine is actually made by a Chinese manufacturer under the name of Powermore. CC doesn't manufacture engines.
bigwilliearmitage good 2 know. Not much info on actual engine maker. Figures it’s China.
Cub Cadet doesn't really mfg anything. They're all MTD.
How does it perform on hilly area?
Per the owners manual it is rated for slopes up to 12 degrees. I’ve towed a 200lb cart up a slight hill with it and though it certainly requires extra throttle it climbs the hill no prob. I weigh 170 if that helps at all.
I went up a 20 ,degree slope with little trouble and only at half throttle. Better than I expected!
Where did you get your mulching cover from?
Hello, it came with the mower.
it comes with it... but you have to buy the double bagger separate.
High output 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
How do you adjust the seat to move forward?
That's a good question but I think it doesn't move or at least mini doesn't
I went out to double check mine and when you lift up the seat there is a knob underneath that you pull out and can slide the seat closer or farther out. There are three or four settings.
it does actually move, there's a thumb knob under the seat and you loosen that and move the seat around
@@flarenator Yes, I'm 4'11" and that was the 1st thing I asked! How far up does the seat go! :-)
@susan danielson i don't really know, i haven't measured it for myself
They are all made by MTD
The H probably for Hydro
MrGtopper thanks! That makes sense and my dealer told me it stood for "high output "

Chinese engine !!
It’s actually built in the States
Chinese engines are very good these days.
Like Japanese stuff, junk in 1965, sought after quality by 1985 !
