can it run without the battery?
I just bought one of these cars. I appreciate the video. Can you tell me how much that battery cost and where you purchased it? And any info on what u needed to reprogram the computer would be great too. I don’t need a replace yet but I’m just trying to get as much info as possible so I know what I’m in for down the road lol . Thanks in advance
$3300 from honda (just the cell pack). There are other parts like inverter, bms modules, etc that could go bad as well. Used ones online range from $500-$1500. There are companies that will sell and install a refurbished battery pack for around $2000 (years 2010-2012 only) for the NiHm battery. A dealership on Long Island, NY quoted me $5400 to replace hybrid Lithium ION battery on my 2013 model, but did not explain if anything else was included

I'm sure you've already done it but you could've just took off the fuel oil and spun it around 180° and would it fit properly for the driver side as it would for the original fuel rail 5.7 L intake

Cutting the lawn for the 3rd season now. Great little mower. Have fixed the 'turns over but won't start' problem by modifying the electric gas shut off carburetor solenoid. Installed a manual gas shut off valve in the fuel line instead. Runs like a beast now. It's a pretty simple design as far as most mowers go. The only down fall is all the government/lawyer mandated safety switches, but those can be bypassed as needed. Happy mowing to y'all. rocket

I replaced my battery a couple years ago and was $2200 and I did the work. I don’t know what a shop would charge.

I’m sure you could but it will definitely cost more just being a dealer.

I have a 2015 CRZ and this is the second summer that the fan starts making noise. After a couple times the IMA light comes on. Can that fan get clogged with stuff? Throwing that code? Its at 8yrs/84k miles. Im terrified because i cant afford a $4,000 parts/labor situation lol
Sure it’s possible especially if the fan motor is going south. You’ll need to pull it and check it out

Is there a filter in that duct work anywhere? I have the same car right down to the year & color. Glass lens fog lights lasted not even 2 years, one cracked the other had a hole through the glass. Just over 200,000 miles, no battery issues, yet! lol
Hello no filter in the duct work and I’ve replaced my fog lights three times. But them for the Civic same housing different bracket. They’re like $40 for the pair if I remember, just remove from the Civic bracket and install in yours. Save yourself a few hundred dollars.
@@alconk7129 I removed the glass, heated some lexan to get the same curve, sealed them on the front. Had to switch to led lights because the old bulbs would have been way to hot for the lexan. They've held up great for over 8 years now.

I bought a 30 H 2 yrs ago and that motor will pull just about anything. I bought a snow blade for it that fit on a ryobi and it has no problem pushing snow.

I recently purchased a 2017 ( really) like new condition! It is not hydrostatic, has a 6 speed manual trans but everything else is the same. I wanted the manual trans because I turned it into one of those disable buggy’s that are all cheaply made and electric 😷 . I live on 20ac , elec scooter don’t cut it so now I. Took the mowing deck off, a little bigger tires and now I have a awesome buggy!

I'm so glad i found this video... there really isnt much outside of Prodemand or Alldata as far as info for this procedure. One question I have is, after replacement of the battery assembly, did you have to take it in to have it reprogrammed? And do you know what that procedure is that they did? Mine had been showing signs of failure for a few months, so I knew it was coming. I'd much rather fix it and be good for another 10 years than buy another car or swap the whole engine for a strictly gas engine. And it failed right before a car show too, dangit!
oh, also I have access to a snap on scan tool that can do live data (I think it's a Solus). I wonder if I could just use the generic scan tool instead of a factory HDS scanner.
Thanks well I did everything myself including programming it using “Launch” software. You can change out the battery yourself then take it to the dealer. That would be fine as long as it’s not too far away.
On my 2011 with 168k miles,sometimes will start to smell like burning wires in the back where the batteries are located. Also the ima battery dies quick within less then a minute of wot. I'm sure the battery is going out,plus on a hot day or at a drive thru while idling it'll drop down to zero battery bars. It's getting really annoying lol was thinking of doing a battery swap but not sure I wanna go through all that trouble so..K24A2 with an lsd 6 speed tranny swap here i come lol
I don’t know what that swap is but yes your battery is pretty much dead. Be easier and cheaper to do a battery replacement but that’s up to you. Good luck

My Cub Cadet cc30h starts making a lot of whining noise after a few minutes hauling. Not sure if I am putting too much weight in cart. Is this damaging the Hydrostatic transmission??
Does it only do it when hauling? If so I’d reduce the amount of weight. Check the owners manual and see what it says. I no longer have mine and never hauled anything.

My 2011 Honda CRZ only has 80k miles on it and the IMA light is on the dashboard. Is there a cheaper way to fix it? Like charge it/ refurbish somehow?
Hmm one thing that kills those batteries is sitting. I would have someone scan it just to make sure it’s not something else. The 12v battery charges it.

Feels a little quicker for one since I opted for the 8kw compared to the factory 6kw. I’m in central Illinois but too busy to work on other vehicles. I can give advise if you need any

Engine is no longer made by cube cadet.In my estimation the brigs eng.with no oil pump and no oil filter is not as good.With Covid and shutting down to move operations back to the USA they are using in my estimation ,a eng.that is not as good as in 2002 .
How do you wire the gauges? Do all 3 hook up to the OBD2 port?
No each one (temp and oil) have there own sensor the volt you just tie into a 12v and ground

Well mine hit 108k miles and the Hybrid battery died. Leaking gas infact. Driven every day. 2010 model. So it happens.. Now in here to figure it out myself as Honda in the UK are money grabbers.
If you’re mechanically inclined you can do it no problem just take your time so you don’t break any clips. I don’t know where you can get batteries in the UK but if you can you can save a ton of money. Good luck

Li don’t believe so if you fully discharge it it will damage it. Those car battery’s are different from like say your phone.
Mine is at 127k miles and going strong. I bought it.for my daughter......hope I don't need to buy a battery anytime soon.
As long as your battery indicator stays on the charge side you should be good. I know these battery’s don’t like hot and cold climates.

Yes but performance will suffer badly along with fuel mileage. You will also have a few warning lights come up. Not recommend but you can.

I figured out a theory as to why the those batteries can last so long, 1: The facts it's a IMA, the batteries aren't heavily loaded as it's just there to assist the small engine. 2: It's a simple small battery without much heat to produce so it won't degrade as quickly as other hybrids and electrics.
Those are both good theory’s. On your 2nd theory the IMA battery has a fan that keeps it from over heating.
Actually once you learn who the batteries are made by then you will realize why they last so long. The actual cells used in the Updated CR-Z that uses Lithium are some of the best cells used by any manufacturer to date.
How much did this cost you brother?
The gauge pod I think was $90 and the gauges were custom made at $150 each. So roughly $550

It can but not the 12v however has mileage and performance will be terrible.

@@erendyalatorre7785 no the 12v is the one under the hood. The hybrid battery is a 6kw under the spare. If he car has been taken care of I’m sure it’s still fine. When they get weak the battery bars on the dash will keep going down and eventually you will get warning lights. If it runs good and shows a charge on the battery bars then you’re good.
