I've found that a good way to achieve a cohesive look is to make sure that you're exposing your images properly while shooting in RAW so you can edit the images in a way that works well together for the grid.

Waseem Asmar hey, one good tip would be to always upload 3 pictures in a row with the same or similar theme - that way they are kinda sorted but you still can use multiple themes :)
So, take landscapes with stars, take landscapes with stars while your traveling, take an astro photo with a person in it, take a portrait with a mountain landscape in the back. I think you’re misunderstanding what “one thing” means.

Mvson here's what I do. FOLDERS. organise by year > month > shoot (date and name your shoots) > RAW > exports (these are your finished edited files saved in an uploadable format). For example: 2017 > JANUARY > 2704 London > RAW > exports Also get an external drive to back up your shots (I personally use a Western Digital drive as you can encrypt and password protect it) Hope this helps!

I always recommend it. Small, powerful, versatile. Crystal clear stills. The autofocus is super fast and it can shoot 11fps stills and 1080p/60 video. Also right now its cheap since the newer models have come out. You can probably find it for about 400 bucks used and 500 new. All around I say its perfect for a hobbyist who wants to do a little bit of everything.

It would be super helpful if you could make a video on posting full size images to facebook and instagram without cropping or sacrificing quality. I'm having such a hard time with this for some reason.
You have to sacrifice quality for Instagram or they will do it for you but they'll make it look far worse than reducing the pixels via lightroom export. And besides people are on their phones and it's a small screen doesn't have to be tack-sharp. I export with the longest side at 2400 pixels and 4:5 vertical crop.
My Instagram is a staple for me as a Miniature painter. Being able to showcase proper high res images of my finished work is amazing! The outreach is also amazing with the proper tags, I was super jazzed yesterday when I got a comment from Benjamin Hartley (Red 7 in Rogue One) because I am a huge Star Wars fan and paint a lot of SW models.

I had gained a lot of followers on alexpaullcofficial, but this started as a spam account for my gap year I did with my mate, and I then started CZcams and it was a place for me to upload everything and let everyone know about my uploads. But now, with everything in mind, I'm going to start from scratch. THANKS PETER. BTW, I've only been watching you for the past 2 months, but you're my favourite YTer right now

i like the fact that we can repost a story down the road if you're in a jam. your followers might not remember seeing the story before and wont realize its a repost..? just dont over do it
Pete, this rolls over to other industries as well. As a steel fabricator I use instagram for the same reasons. I've had people ask name about side jobs and gotten work in at my day job because of the things I post there. Social media plays a much bigger part in peoples lives than they think.
screw air drop, use Grambler and you can just upload videos to Instagram from your computer, and you can schedule your posts, however i dont know if that will work for stories so you may have to get it back on your phone with air drop or drop box for that

Could you do a video on how to film fast-moving/unpredictable subjects? My subject of choice is dogs (my bias as a dog trainer), and I'd love to hear your advice on how to film & photograph dogs, kids, people doing sport, etc. It's so hard to think about composition when you're struggling to even get the subject in focus! I have to film using manual fine focus because my D3200 makes a lot of noise as it's adjusting in automatic. This can be quite a hassle when your subject keeps running up to lick the lens!! XD Is there a particular camera you'd recommend that has a fast, quiet, auto-focus for video? Or maybe certain filming techniques that would help?
This is a very informative video. Thanks Peter. Just goes to show how important being meticulous about quality output is. This gave me a lot of perspective and learning to better my Instagram game.
I think what he's more concerned about is how some of us mix our photography with like just regular photos of coffee and stuff. He might feel that clients think this isn't a serious photographer by looking at that mix. How I feel is that a few pictures showing our own daily life and the objects we live on (coffee, for example lol) give out a feel to prospective clients about the person we are and if they'd like working with us. However, Pete here is the legend (I bow down to his greatness lol) and I am literally just starting out as a photographer (I'm not even sure if I am one).
Saeed Husain that’s not what he means. He basically saying you need to brand yourself, and branding yourself requires you stay true to a specific niche. Obviously if you post photos of backcountry hiking frequently, and then post a coffee at a coffee shop, no one will like the coffee shop photo.

Saeed Husain that’s not what he means. He basically saying you need to brand yourself, and branding yourself requires you stay true to a specific niche. Obviously if you post photos of backcountry hiking frequently, and then post a coffee at a coffee shop, no one will like the coffee shop photo.
