The Base you make is the foundation to the rest of the pour. So it's up to us to have a strong base form the very beginning. Here we teach three styles at light speed. Hope you find some nuggets of knowledge here. Bases are aces.
ALSO behind the Scene fact: I used 4 month old coffee for this video (You can for sure tell) It has lost much of its cream and flow like qualities.

I had to stop halfway in this video because a couple thoughts I did not want to forget. 1 I can listen to you talk about anything as long as you are as into it as you seem about this subject. 2 on this subject I think there were a couple things you said that clicked with me that no other teaching description of how to do the process has landeded with me like you have, very helpful. the third thing is find watching your hands while you talk is captivating, I can see your hand movements making it all happen. Ok back to the video....... 😀
My heart is so full after reading this! Thank you!
Some people hate my hands when I talk but I am very physical in my communication.
There are so many hidden gems of detail for (well all things) latte art.
@@EmileeBryant This is a surprise, Pinned my comment, wish I had done a better job with writing it. I'm pleased to have made you happy, always a good day to bring some positive to another person. Maybe some day our paths will cross and I will have the luck to see you express yourself in person and see your hand do your talking.
@@01748murphy Bruddah that last sentence 💀😂
I’ve been struggling so much with this and no one has explained it like you just did. A million wrong videos and then you. 🙌
Creating that current is exactly the thing I’ve been missing to take my pours to the next level. I never got how in all these videos people are able to pour so “far back” into the cup like that. Thank you!!
Hi! My partner and I recently got an espresso machine and since then we've been drinking ridiculous amounts of cappuccino to improve our skills. I've watched so so many videos on how to steam milk and how to do latte art and yours are by far the very best! After your video on steaming milk I was finally able to create beautiful microfoam. Thank you so much for posting these videos - I am so grateful for your hard work 💛
I love the reverse plane landing analogy and the off beat concept. It really seems to help me.
you've gotten more and more comfortable in front of the camera, as a result, your tutorials are better than ever as well! Kudos! 🎉
You're videos and explanation of detail is very helpful
You are the best at latté art / coffee description! Very helpful.
Wow! Makes me appreciate all the latte art that every Toronto barista makes looks so easy
Your analogies and descriptive words are the best I've heard on this topic!
I really appreciate the detail that you put into your videos. I haven't seen much else that shows how to get these bases started. Thank you!!
I’m slowly getting better,
keep doin what you do, because it’s very much appreciated,
love your channel x
Emilee is such a gorgeous gal. Love her enthusiasm. I love my coffee.
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Absolutely love your explanations. So easy to understand.
Wooo-hooo! Emilee does the best and MOST FUN latte art videos on the planet. Lucky friends who get to hang out with her in real space! Some day...
Thank youuu!
And hey maybe someday we will hang!
@@EmileeBryant That would be seriously lovely!
@@DenScan let me know if you find yourself in nyc
@@EmileeBryant Why did I picture you as a left coast girl? I'm in lovely Vermont, but I do get down to the big city from time to time. (We don't get into town often, but when we do -- Bang! There goes the egg money!)
Don't be surprised when I come knocking on your door...
@@DenScan haha! I was born in the South and am in love with the West but I live on the East.
You are an excellent explainer, Ms. Emilee.
You’re the greatest! I’m getting better and better at the heart - now I can’t wait to try these! Love the info - love you’re energy - love your humor! Thanks for the video!
Great vid!
Hi Emilee. That’s very insightful! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Em!!!! Seriously love this vid! I’ve watched hundreds of latte vids but I love yOU the best 🤗🤗🤗
This was it, this was the one that I needed. I was getting mostly good designs, but they were limited in size/area. Creating a current was what I needed to really pull the designs out. Awesome stuff, thank you so much. Watching your videos has made me improve a ton really quickly.
These tutorials are great because they're packed with info. Nary a wasted image or word. Also, I was just wondering what people call the "drifting base." Good to know.
Thank you!! Glad you enjoy them. I try to make the points clearly so Peale don’t get confused.
I’m sure there are other names for it. I used to call it shooting the line.
I came to youtube today looking for this video and DAMN ! you nailed exactly where my attempts at latte art were not working. Milk art is about flow and this video in 5 minutes was ( I hate to use this word ) perfect. Please do this some more....3 quick strategies in 5 minutes. I am off to explore Patreon. Your video content deserves support. All the best Emilee.
I love your videos ❤ I’m a baby barista from Norway and I’ve been making coffee for about a year. I’m working on fixing some mistakes that were given to me in my training, and seeing that I make better and better coffee’s and your videos are great! I learn so much, and I have words on things I might suddenly have done that works, but haven’t picked up the exact point of what works and what doesn’t. So thank you so much!❤
Amazing stuff. Thank you
I've been looking for something like this for such a long time. Thank you.
Thank you again Emilee! I know you spend a lot of time creating these and they are always SO helpful! This is exactly what I have been wondering about - and can’t wait to talk to you about this on our lesson!
So excited for our lesson! And thank you!
Just concept of "the current" itself literally improved my game the same day I watched it))) I used to wonder "why the heck sometimes my bases look so delicate and colourful, but most of the times fat and white"))) Now I know the answer. Many thanks for that!!! Never heard anyone else noting the importance of the current, cool👍🏻😊
Thank you Emilee! This video explained a part I was lacking in latte art. I wasn't aware on the need to create the current in the cup. I couldn't understand why all my designs were really small.
Best explanation ever ❤
Thanks. This does help
thank you for your teaching I gained a lot of knowledge from this video.
Now THIS is a useful and helpful video, many thanks! Fantastic
Beautiful!!❤
Thank you for this tutorial emilee🙂🙂
This helps me to improve my latte art most especially in making wing tulip and Rosetta 🙂🙂🙂
Thank you!!!!!
I learnt, and then created an Arty Latte from your 'what not to do video'!!!
So excited by this, and I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in my lil town who can do anything like this 😊😊
Nice! Thank you!
This is great. Latte art is really fantastic.
Thanks! Love your videos. Old Noob with new gear. Thanks again.
GodDAMN that was clear, concise and coffee correct. 🤩
Very informative and easy. Thank you
Concise and clear, lovely, thank Emilee
Thank you so much! Glad you like it!
So helpful~~!!! Thank you so much~!!
Great video, but you forgot the indistinguishable blob method which is my personal favourite. Texture the milk with too much or too little air. Pour the milk and wiggle madly in panic, trying to get lines to form, overfill the cup and spill milk on to the bench. And voila, you should have some abstract masterpiece in your cup. Seriously though, you are a Jedi master when it comes to latte art.
You are a coffee hero 💪🏻, great video
Love your content I have learned so much so far
Thank you! I am learning a lot from you!
Thanks very helpful😊
Emileeeeee thanks!!!!
Thanks so much dear
I'm gonna try that today
Thanks your videos helped me a lot with practicing

Awesome advice ❤ thanks 🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂
I watch Em’s videos in half speed so I can watch her techniques in slo mo. Bonus, she sounds super drunk the whole time which only adds to the charm of her classes.
thanks for these great videos!
Love your videos. No fillers no bullshits. End up rewatching this 4 times. 😂❤
i feel like i'm eventually going to get it figured out watching your videos
fantastic teaching you do
How you describe latte art techniques is so unique and helpful. 👍🏻
Love your softly spoken voice too! ❤️
Thank you! I just this helps many budding latte artists along the way!
I agree. Emilee's presentation is engaging because they are so softly spoken backed up with her passion and expressive hands.
Every day I try to do a better one with your help. I think it’ll work tomorrow. Thank you.❤
~Getting my milk right (even when I thought it was right, it wasn’t) and introducing the current were the two things I’ve been doing wrong. Fantastic tutorial, thank you!
Thanks!
This was great!! Thanks!!😊
This is indeed art! I have a Rancilio Silvia Pro X and I am so bad at this... your video and advice is the best yet... thanks!
This video is PACKED. Thanks!

Informative, cheeky funny and well worth the sub!
Hi Emille!!! Thanks for your fantastic video am learning alot from you.
thank you spidey
thanks yo Emilee !!
so very nice 👌
Thanks a lot
Legend 😎
You are probably the best teacher of this subject on CZcams and I appreciate your input but attempting to acquire your skill set would probably take a lifetime. I cannot after three years of practicing understand how you achieve your level of skill without being ninety! Guess I’ll be ninety before I crack the code.
I just discovered your videos a few days ago. And I cannot stop watching them. You are so passionate and informative. I recently upgraded my machine to a Profitec GO (coming from Bambino Plus). So I am very excited to try out all these techniques and steaming my own milk rather than the auto froth. Yes I did watch your video on how to steam milk and countless other videos. Keep up the great work!

Finally someone who doesn't ask us to hit 'like and subscribe' in the beginning of the vid before we even know if we're going to like the content. The simple, ”if you like, then hit like” means a ton. That said, I immediately subscribed after being called a scumbag. 🤣
Love your content. Thx for teaching us!
So glad you enjoyed! Welcome to the scum club.
I’m sure in the past I have asked at the beginning here and there but I mostly forget to ask at all 😅

You make it look so effortless, but whenever I try I end up with a disaster lol. This video is awesome, it has really detailed descriptions and comparations (like the one you did with the plane) that are really helpful, thanks!
Would love for you to make a video on pouring latte art in paper cups!!
now I love you❤😊
Great tutorial, thank you 😊, by the way witch pitcher use? Brand and ml , cheers
Interesting
الله يجزيك بخير وشكراعلى المعلومة🌷🌷🌷🌷
First comment! Keep up good work we love you!
Thank you! Love you back!
Everything drifts away eventually. BTW you're really good at this whole latte art thing. You should do something with that.
Em what coffee beans what you use? Amazing job!
Emilee, Thanks for these awesome vids! Question: I've got a Rancilio Pro as well - given the steam output, what's a recommended pitcher/amount of milk in that pitcher, for the best foaming ability?
I have a Fellows pitcher, and typically put about 10oz of milk. Using the techniques I learned on your channel, for steaming (position/timing), I've achieved a foam where I can get solid heart shapes, however, I must use a spoon to hold foam back as I'm integrating, and then have a little milk left to swirl the foam in to, before going for the art. Otherwise, all the foam gets integrated in the initial pour, and there's no foam left in the pitcher to art with. :/ I feel like maybe the pitcher is the wrong size/shape? It's a Fellows 16oz. The flow of the foam on the top never quite achieves the rippled/flow-y effect I see in videos, but it does flow well enough to make solid hearts, so I feel like it's close, but can't isolate the problem.
I just needed a forking current?!!?! In two minutes you solved a problem that I've been trying to solve since months!
oh that's just impeccable ♥️ are you in Melbourne Australia?
תודה אמילי , ניסיתי שוב , יצא לי מזרן זוגי נחמד .... 🤣 ננסה שוב בערב
Your idea about only going on the offbeat is great. Do you think you’d be able to record a short video looking down into the pitcher as you’re pouring, saying the push push push line as you’re doing the action? I’m doing a push pull right now and I’m not consistent so it be great to see a visual example with the audio queues in there for rhythm. Love your method of explaining xx
