What did you need to know most when starting out? Think I missed something? Let me know In the comments!
And don't forget to beat up the like button.
Karate chops to the baby all the way!
This filthy scumbag was screaming YES! throughout your video. Oh, this would have been so helpful decades ago when I was starting on the journey. I'm glad you're around to help the "baby baristas" along!
Just a quick tip, I'd recommend asking for likes and subscription at the end of the video. This is the first time I see any of your videos. I don't know how, and what it'll get, but let us watch the content first, before you ask for feedback. 😉
Omg I'm so noob hahha what is purging lol... I got a bartender job and I've never had experience lol I got it based on my personality, now I feel sooooo unco lol
I would really have liked a glass jugg to be able to see better what was going on... eeeeh.. I would have liked to have you showing me in person! this is really challenging on my own... Had al lot of espresso an cappucino in Italy this year which gave me the motivation to pick this up back home in the Netherlands.. ps.. your video's are really great!
“…when you’re karate chopping your newborn baby.” 😂 In a coffee video! 🤣
Instant Like!! 👍🏼 🙌🏼 ❤️
Problems with dialing in because you don‘t know what espresso‘s supposed to taste like sounds weird but it‘s the realest thing ever. There‘s so much info on ratios, brew time etc. that it‘s easy to forget to listen to your taste (and train it by drinking good coffee!)
the karate chop joke killed me
as a 6 year barista who's worked in several cafes and with hundreds of other baristas..... HOW is this the first time i've ever seen someone give advice on how to better fold your towels??? that's the best tip I've gotten in months
Towels should not be overlooked!! I am also around the 6-7 year mark! wow.. time flies
Thank you for approaching coffee without the an air of superiority. I look forward to more of your videos, please keep this going.
Thank you! Coffee is def a bit snooty at times. I always vibe with, drink what you like and have passion in the things you do in life. for me that's coffee, and I would never look down on someone who didn't like what I happen to like.
She's such a natural public speaker.
Hey a newborn baby barista here, just to say love the way you teach without being overly serious - now all I can hear in my head is you saying crack....... subbed!
I've been surfing coffee channels for a couple of years now, this is the first time i have seen yours. I loved it, good job👏👍😁😎🇬🇧
LL Cool Ray! What's happening my brother? 🙋
@@MikeFLHT hi mike, haven't seen you post any content for a while. I'm doing good, life has returned to normal again in the UK. (Back to work etc). Still surfing the channels but not on chat as much because i don't see live broadcasts, always catch up after work. Glad to see your comment, hope all is well with you. i still see Hoons channel and Dylan's but no one i recognize in the chat plus i can not reply when its a repeat. Stay safe will talk again llcoolray👍😉😎🇬🇧
@@l.l.coolray It's really good to hear from you. Also very good to hear that life has returned to normal for you over there. I'm the same way. Don't vatch Hoon's channel live anymore. Only know a few people I know over there now. Stay safe and stay with the coffee!
Dear sweet Mary mother of Francis, I am so glad you talked about tasting notes. I was beginning to think I was going insane because NONE of the descriptions make sense to me. You just saved me enough money on therapy to buy a new round of accessories I don't need.
Keep up the great work.
Flavor notes are lie. That was the best one. I always tried hard to identify the taste and could never taste same as on the notes. Thanks Emily
Hello, I just became a Baby Barista.
I loved your video, it helped me a lot.
Hugs from Brazil. ☺
Number 9 is so trueee. I used to think that there’s something wrong with my tastebuds because it didn’t taste to me as it was saying on the bag😅
You're my go to for learning how to make great espresso at home. It's your crystal clear expression and lack of bias that draws me to your channel.
Your videos are not only INFORMATIVE and SATISFYING - but also CHARMING beyond description! :-)
Nailed it. I find many CZcamsrs who ask me to like and subscribe at the beginning of the video. I have no idea if I'll like your video let alone if I want to subscribe to you. By the end of your video I might want to like and subscribe BUT I'm so impressed with your video I forget to like and subscribe. I think you are the first person to ask at the beginning AND again at the end. Thank you for reminding me to like and subscribe.
I just love watching you, Miss Emilee.
Subscribed for the hint on flavour notes. THANK YOU! I kept trying all these different coffees that said "watermelon! peach! plum! jasmine! vanilla! chocolate!" and they all just tasted like different coffees to me, not like any of those other things! I thought maybe I could bring out those flavour notes if I got better at dialing in my espresso! Now I don't feel so bad that my espresso tastes like coffee. Thank you so much!
Was NOT expecting that outro but I FUCKING LOVED IT
Love #9. I think lemon is about the only Specific coffee note I have ever actually tasted XD
Great video, real stuff, no nerdy BS.
After 10 years of exp. that is just how i see espresso, just stick with the basics and trust your own taste.
First I could listen to Emilee for hours - what a great voice! But I love her thoughts in this video - especially the tasting notes!! Well done all around and thank you.
I knew my extensive baby karate chopping experience would come in handy for other hobbies I enjoy. Thank you! I was thinking the same thing about the squishy toy, always have, but then you illustrated perfectly and now I’m convinced we were right about that. So glad you didn’t shy away from that point. Great video!
SO MUCH #3. I literally discovered this by accident recently because I was tired of needing to find somewhere to brush off the top grinds into the bin. I then polish the puck with an OCD (JK, it's an imitation one that cost $80 less ) and finish with a tamp. Without the gentle bumping step, my pucks tend to do well but still end up overextracting towards the end of a pull unless I cut it short. Science is weird.
This is phenomenal. Thank you for passing on this knowledge to the next wave of baristas.
I’m currently a supervisor in ASM training at Starbucks, so a lot of my coffee knowledge is somewhat fast food-ized and not as detail-focused as a traditional café environment is. I picked up so many tips to bring to my team and I want to thank you for helping grow the art :)
I just became the manager of my local coffee place and have been watching your videos for a while now. This kind of content is so helpful for me and my employees ❤️
I how have o never found your channel before now, as the proud owner of my first espresso machine, I have been searching for tips and tricks. I have learned so much, I never would have thought of karate chopping it like I would have chopped my newborn baby 🤣, but seriously your videos have so much good information in them thank you
please keep doing this kind of video Em! - baby baristas -
This is so beneficial to me as a beginner Barista from Kenya. I just started watching your videos yesterday and really loving them. Thank you
A BIG shout out to the flavor note part, it just makes me stop my delicious steak dinner for this comment. I was always confused, WBC champions, machine sellers, bean packages, baristas in cafe… they tell people what to expect. I explored some of the best roasters in some cities, never have tasted the same as what the baristas suggests. I asked chatGPT and it doesn’t know how to describe the sweetness in espresso. the reason I enjoy a cup is always changing with my mood, sometime i just enjoy the strong caramel bitterness, sometime it is not bad to have a well acidic cup, sometime a cup tastes like shit but the terrible-ness magically expands afterward into a concert in my mouth and I don’t even want to flush it with water or milk.
I became a subscriber only because you said
Karate drop your baby. I was laughing for hours it's so funny.
🤣🤣
But the most important reason is the knowledge you have that is fantastic thank you for all your help and your fantastic video kudos. 💙❤️🌈💜☕☕
I've learnt more from you in 2 video's than all the other's. Thanks cheers 🍻
i now know more things than i did before the start of this video❤
I loved the lesson. Such a good sensei😘😘 deserved my subscription, certain of learning from you😘😘
I was about to not leave any message on this video, but when you said filthy dirty scumbags, you got me! 😄 Thank for your videos, you're a complete legend!
A term of endearment here on this channel!
Welcome to our coffee cult
Thank you very much for these efficient and useful tips, I really need to know more . I love your latte art tips but I would be so much grateful if you mention also these kinds of tips about espresso and coffee . ❤🥰
Epiphany or CZcams algorithm …whatever it is…I am glad that I landed here. Very informative. Thanks. You got another subscriber…
So happy to have you!
Thank you!
My next video will be even more fun 😇
Emilee your words are a delight, I love your videos.❤
Loved this. Thanks for advancing my coffee education.
I love the tone of your channel. So chill and conversational! Good info in the vid too, thanks!
One of the qualities of your longer videos (like this one) that make them so valuable is how well organized they are. Thanks!
Karate shopping your new born baby, you killed me there.lol
Great info! Can you do a video on your favorite Espresso machines? I’m curious what you use at home.
Hey, great to have you back. I always look forward to you informative, fun, and unique posts 😊
Love all the tips especially the flavor note part. 😊😊

I just got a boost of confidence to go out and try more coffee. Thanks for the great tips.
What a refreshing and practical video, I loved it!
this helps me a lot! thanx for the treat👍
A guy walked into the coffee shop I work at & recommended I follow you (never caught his name unfortunately) but, I am so glad he did! ✨️
Great video, thanks for the tips. You explain things in a very sweet and clear way, just a joy!
you're amazing, awesome video! thank you so much for all the tips 🙌
Great video! Refreshing!
Totally agree, channelling is the number one thing to avoid when brewing coffee. My espresso game went up a level once I understood this. Yet, in a lot of videos, they obsess over temperature and pressure. Even with something like grind size, the main aim should be to get an even extraction rather than controlling the shot to the nearest second.
Makes sense.
Thanks for being awesome!!
Always great watching your videos
Very informative
Good sense, sound advice !!! Thanks Emilee you're awesome , bravo!!
Absolutely digged the tip number 9 !!! Thank you, Emily. The more videos i am watching, the more I am realising how genuine nice person you are. ❤
Can't agree more! Coffee tastes like coffee, tobacco tastes like tobacco, wine tastes like wine, it just remainds you of different flavour.
Hey this is great! That bonus tip resonated!
I did right away because of your comedy and knowledge! Plus your personality is intoxicating!
Great content and
Delivery. Thanks!
Great Video!! Thank you!
Yes it’s really informative video thank you emilee

Great video, and love your delivery style.
Keep them coming.
Loved this.
Karate chop babies, equals excellent espresso, got it 😂😂😂
Love your video closing! 🤣🤣🤣
Fantastic video, thank you so much. I've loved coffee since I was a drip, good coffee at that. I've been a huge fan of press, but recently got (back) into filter coffee - thanks to James Hoffman's channel.
You're really only the second coffee channel I've found on CZcams that I really enjoy. Even though this was the first video of yours I've seen, I love it.
Again, thank you! Looking forward to seeing more!
Your videos are AMAZING 🤩 I discovered an old La Pavoni of my mom that was pretty dirty and desgusting, but I cleaned and start to learn the world of espresso. Your videos really help me to understand a ton of things about coffee because I can understand perfectly how you explain everything. Thanks for your GREAT job and enthusiasm! Gettings from Mexico 🇲🇽
Thanks for all the tips!
She is the cutest of all. I learn so much looking at her videos. And I like her hands, they can speak and fly.
Fun and informative video, nicely done ☕️☕️😊
This is great info - thanks for sharing!
Wow, just discovered your channel tonight and so glad. You have a talent for teaching … and the metaphors (pencil, sharpie, marker) are informative. You have great skill for coffee language.
Your videos are so awesome, and your way of explaining techniques is superb. In just a short time, watching your videos has given me such an improvement in my taste and overall quality of my expresso. You are the best. Thanks, and keep the videos coming.
Thank you!! ☕
I am a baby barista! Glad to have found your channel that soon. This is very helpful!🧡

You helped me a lot.
Super informative as always. Thanks Emilee!
Thank you! This one was fun to make (as opposed to the ones where I have to pour ten drinks back to back )
Most deserved subscription i have ever clicked :)
Very helpful!!!
I actually learnt alot expecially the last point of flavor notes
Love you too!❤😂 kiss from Berlin, Germany!
I’m a pretty good home barista and I can make very decent espresso, but watching your videos makes me feel like I’m learning all over again. So much practical, useful, relevant information. Thank you. I only wish I had discovered you sooner.
Great video Emilee. Particularly liked the note about flavour notes. Keep up the great content!
Thank you! I promise not to stop! Its a great point to bring up. People shouldn't punish themselves for others Labels of flavor.
Great video!
