  • This have to be the quickest video on YT showing the actual differences in rolling shutter on the Sony A7 IV in full frame mode vs the APS-C mode. According to www.cined.com, the difference is 26,8ms for FF and 13ms in crop mode.

    Without the mech shutter - rolling shutter seems more dependent on how fast the camera reads the sensor.
    I found the Sony A1 the best Sony for reducing rolling shutter.
    Other fast reading cameras are the Nikon Z8/Z9 and Canon R3 ... 🦘

      That's my understanding also! The A1 have a stacked sensor which gives much faster readout speeds than the type used in the A7 IV so that's why it can produce way less rolling shutter in video/ electronic shutter, but then it's also like twice the price. An awesome camera, no doubt, I got to try one at a Sony camp in southern Sweden a few weeks ago and it's a real beast with its burst speeds.
