I have watched this several times and it hits hard every time 🤯 If Ren had a huge budget and the best people in the industry they could not portray this more vividly than he did with a guitar and his voice.

Dude. When I realized Jenny and Screech were twins, I literally threw my phone down. Ren needs to get well and immediately become a Hollywood writer. Every performance I've seen so far could be a full length Hollywood film

Even though I'm late to the Ren party ( I'm kicking myself for not knowing of him before "HI Ren") I'm thoroughly enjoying watching these reactions to him and you're one of the most enthusiastic reactor I've seen.. One thing that really goes unnoticed is Ren does these live, in one take. No extra production, just his voice, guitar and the sound of the environment he's setting his story in. He sings in an ally, the story is based in an ally and it sounds like, an ally. Its genius.
Little side-note. The reason Screechs mate Patrick wasn't home and his girlfriend was "Busy" is because they were together.

Someone said the twins are from her father sexually abusing (raping) his daughter and they are not Stevies. They sounded positive like Ren mentioned that or something.
And Jenny, 14yr old girls don't tend to wear high heels, it's set at night, she'd walked the streets a thousand times and wanted to escape. Also the fact they lay side by side in birth and death (only one street apart)
When this song finished I felt just like I did when I watched the movie The Usual Suspects. I was like what did I miss, why didn't I see that coming? This guy is just, wow!

Screech from Saved by the bell (Dustin Diamond) was diagnosed with lung cancer early january 2021 and passed 1 febuary same year. He was 44 when he died.

If you go back and listen he did not say "...baby die." He said "...babies die." You can See the S in a sound forge. Then, the street he ends Violet's tale on is between the alleys Jenny and Screech died on. Look for landmarks, the parking garage, and gang tags.
Ren did a live version a few months ago. Hundreds of us met at Brighton station and were then taken on a walking journey to an unspecified location. Brilliant night!

Jenny we have replied to each other’s messages before on YT. I didn’t go, but I would like to know if you were met, as per the post at the time, whether you were met at the station by a chap in a balaclava before being taken down through the North Laine.
As a local who loves local social history tours (and the city and knows most of the central twittens) I am looking forward to a commentary walking tour of the decorated and dark alleys in Ren’s videos when they start. I think it likely someone will set one up if not in time for Fringe this year, perhaps next.

Also, I love the way they did these as a series of live 1 shots... the walk through the hall and pacing it to reach the stairway/door just at the right time is masterful. Your reaction was priceless. It's how I felt the first time I heard it. Ren said in a recent twitch stream that his dream is to have a series on Netflix. He also said he has more 'stories' later this year with completely different characters.

He's so uniquely talented across so many aspects. His blending of melodic stylings and types of music influences is truly a 1 of 1. He's part poet, part bard (going go the medievil influence), part folk artist, with skills in rapping, singling, operatic vocalizations, some reggae, some classical guitar, with heavy metal, with punk, with flamenco.....the way he strings together his guitar pieces is just so crazy. Wow.
Not to mention, his story telling and lyricism is top notch. And he does it all with 1 live take.....which is kind of insane. Plus I don't know if he directs the videos, but the director and cinematographer are top notch as well.
The whole thing is just the genre of Ren 😁👌

Loved the way that the penny well and truly dropped for you at the end. It’s an amazing piece of storytelling, performance, camera work etc.

Great analysis! Ren and Sam are in such sync. Very low budget but seemingly highly produced. We get so caught up in the story that the great camerawork (and Ren’s) acting are sometimes overlooked. Give Ren and Sam a Grammy and an Oscar (this is better than most short films). Is it just me or do you hear a little acoustic version of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” as Ren is coming down the stairs at the beginning of Screech’s Tale? Ren's greatest talent is relating. He does not simply tell a tale or sing a song or rap, he becomes the story. Ren brings you into his world and makes you feel as if you are there, the emotion is real, the artistry is phenomenal and his talent across multiple genres, styles and visual arts brings to life the story in a way that NO ONE has done EVER before. One man, comes alive and creates a world in which you can't escape until that final line and last note.
Ren is and will be remembered as a master, the likes of which have not been seen since Beethoven, Shakespeare or Picasso.
The fact that it's a never ending cycle of violence is also brilliantly highlighted in Screech's tale: "Our story it STARTS, right at the END, of the life of poor Jenny, clocked out like big ben" and then again at the end of Screech's tale: "Our story it ENDS right at the START, young Screech and poor Jenny, lying one street apart"... Took me a few listens to notice that but that's pure genius!

loved your reaction! I had the same nooooooooo no no noooooo!! I couldnt believe it, totally agree with your feeling of having watched a film, the intensity of the feelings and how he puts the picture on your own mind just with his words and his guitar and the acoustics it's brilliantly nuts!
Btw, I dont know if anyone has commented on it, but normally in the first listen we always miss the fact that he rewinds with the guitar on Violet's tale, exactly after the line "we must rewind the hands of time" to take us to her past with her parents, and the story starts echoing in the corridor, made me think of echoes of the past, and then when he ends up with Screech after punching her in the room, forwads back up with the guitar again, to the present in the hospital room. Has anyone else noticed?
Yes! I did notice the guitar rewinding time but the story progressed and I forgot to mention it 🤣

Great reaction! I've been watching Ren's videos pretty much non stop for the past few weeks and he never fails to impress! His versatility of genre, his lyricism and story-telling ability, his voice, his acting are all incredible. Oh, and as for his guitar technique, I'm 65 and have been playing guitar since I was about 7. One day I hope to be as good as this young man!

Without even looking, I'm certain others will be saying a similar thing in the comments; I've watched so many reactions to this and all other Ren masterpieces (all his work). Just had to say this was easily up there with my favorites. Knowing the intricacies of each tale and when certain moments are/should hit like a brick... and BOOM, your eye's widen and I can't help but smile.
Long way of saying... absolutely loved your reaction, and I'm glad I've found your channel. Another reason to be thankful to Ren, I've found wonderful CZcams channels because of his work.
