When you said you were holding back your emotions during screech all I could think was "man, you are fucked". Hugs to your past self.
As someone pointed out to me, its crazy how deep the song goes. Jenny grew up and inherited her mothers tendency to stay silent and freeze up, whilst Screech inherited his father's propensity for violence, and their story ends how it starts, laying side by side, but this time one street apart
Also screech was only 14 and already a lost cause and being the twin Jenny was also 14 and walking the streets late at night on the game...14!

Don't forget Violent also inherited her mother's silence too. Since she was quiet to her daughter being abused by her husband.
I was married to an abusive man and the way Ren pulls you in with all he has (voice, guitar, acting, knocking on doors, etc) which makes you feel scared, nervous, sad, and very emotional…as a survivor of physical abuse, he gets you pretty close to how it feels to be a scared young woman getting beat up. I’ve never seen anything like this or heard anything close to the brilliance of this young man. It’s also nice to see a young man like yourself embracing your emotions. It helps me to feel like maybe the younger generation hasn’t succeeded in trying to cover up their emotions by pretending they don’t have any. Thanks again!

I, too, am now free, for years I'd lie awake, waiting to see what state he'd return and then lie there pretending to be asleep for hours while he just shouted and screamed abuse at me, sometimes violent but not if I was quiet

One point I haven't seen being conveyed is what Jenny does. She's a 14 year old girl, that walks the streets of London for 1000 times, in high heels... Her age is hidden during her tale, presented as a young woman, but then you understand she's Screech's age, 14 year old girl... the amount of layers you can thought through this trilogy is mesmerising. There is one tell in Jenny's Tale that Jenny is very young... Screech calls her "girl".
14 year old London boys wouldn't call a woman "girl" beyond about the age of 17, it would be "lady".

I'm here for the waffling. I'd watch the original (for the hundredth time) if I didn't want to see what you thought, and felt, about it. If the emotion overtakes your ability to commentate, well that's an indicator that Ren's artistry is truly something on another level

Ren is a master story teller and this trilogy is an absolute work of art. Challenging, visceral it leads us down a dark road with twists and turns right to the very last word.
Not at all bored. And we're kind of the same, we're both lovers of strange, especially when it is magnificent strange.
You’re SO right - Blind Eyed does expose Ren as a freaky dude and it’s magic because it allows him to do things, from moving his mouth in an odd way, or putting a weird look on his face, that would make other people uncomfortable because it’s “not done.”
I think your reactions are genuinely some of the best on the entire damned inter web. Your emotions are so evident from beginning to end and yeah. You’re a joy to watch. Especially experiencing something as profound as Ren.

I didn't know what I got myself into the first time I listened to the tales. It hit close to home as I could have ended up like Violet. Just made me realize once again that sometimes it's not just okay to run away but absolutely necessary

We appreciate you! Love going down the Ren Rabbit Hole! Keep playing him. His catalog is huge and every song is different and amazing. Ren is not in any genre out there. Ren is a genre that others will try to copy but will never reach his immense talent.

Violet v violence. Patricks not home, his girl is busy. Yep. Violets tale was written later but set in 2005. Jenny and screechs tale was written in 2019. 14 yrs later.
Dont worry about the tears man, they tell their own story and you are not alone with that response. Ren's work is just so honest it grabs you from start to finish and captivates you. I have not been so spellbound with full on attention to music since Dylan's Blood on the Tracks... this is as good.

Ren and his talent is unique, singular and brutally honest...
I think what truly makes REN A TRULY DIFFERENT ARTIST is that he is an extremely intentional artist in all aspects(Lyrics, Videography, Costume, Vocalization & Tonality, Cadence, Body Language & Facial/Micro-expressions, Lighting, Acoustic Instrumentality, Narrative Skills). He is so exquisitely intricate, meticulous & intentional about every single facet of his art from top to bottom, from start to finish, from idea in his beautiful mind to the beautiful minds like yours that do reaction vids lol It’s almost scary how a single human can do this and not just like once but like consistently. It’s Dope but almost alarming haha I just got hip to Ren about 3 months ago so I am still getting through his catalog. You can’t really binge his music back-to-back like most other artists. You have to listen, absorb, listen again, absorb more & then sit with what you’ve extracted from that specific piece of artistic expression and then move on to the next piece. He’s just that type of artist really just that type of human being from my limited understanding🤷🏾♂️

Wow. I hadn't heard this one to the end before; reminds me of "King Park" by La Dispute. Just, British 😅 His delivery and vocals are absolutely amazing. I'm not generally fond of guitars because they're sharp and jarring to me, but in these performances, that jarringness is perfect. No other instrument would do.
I've never thought of Ren as weird, perhaps because I'm weird myself and just register him as "normal" 😂 What makes him so powerful, to me, is his raw, honest, heartfelt authenticity. It's a rare quality.

Us RENegages truly Rensonate with Ren's music and each other in the community he has built and personally I see you have that same good soul Renergy - yeah I know all those play on words was cheesy😄 but in all seriousness, I really appreciate Ren, his community and the Reactors who are sharing the love for Ren and opening up with their own vulnerabilities and experiences that flavour their take on his music - ive literally binge watched 100's and each gave me something, a different observation or trains of thought, but only a handful of those stuck in my mind - and you're one of those. It's that need for a sense of connection with others I think, we feel Touched when we see someone else's Feels and Recognise parts of our gentle, empathic selves in whats quite often these days a hardened world that can feel alien and inhospitable to us - or it does to me at least. Agreed, out of the ordinary: EXTRAordinary - is capitivating. One of the things that really amazes me about his stories & the way he delivers them is that he manages to convey an entire story and get us to care about/ become emotionally involved with the characters (including himself) in a few short minutes when even many feature length films just about ( or even fail to) do so in an hour and a half. "It's like watching the greatest movie but from the Inside" - perfectly put, that's exactly it👊

I found your channel through your reaction to "Hi Ren". It's your realness and obvious personality that has kept me coming back. I've dove deeply down the rabbit hole of your videos. I feel now like I'm watching a friend. Wanted to share my view on why Ren affects so many people in various & deep ways. This will probably be convoluted, I hope it makes sense.
Ren is a once in a generation multi talented genius. He is our Paganini, our Mozart, our Vivaldi. He is a Bard, a gleeman*, of immeasurable depth & talent. I believe he is all of these things in part, because his talent for music & words comes from a place of honesty. He has spent his life, as young as he is, perfecting his musical abilities. While at the same time, he has Lived. Capital L lived. Illness, it it physical or psychological that is experienced for many years and survived changes the prospective & view a person has on life, and everything it encompasses.
*Gleeman: a medieval wandering musician who performed songs or recited poetry with instrumental accompaniment.
Honestly, choking on what words to say is something I find is the norm when listening to Ren, his work us a masterpiece and everyone I know including me always struggle to even put words together nevermind saying how ut made us feel after listening, he's truly unique and you can feel his passion, and the way he uses the guitar to play the going back in time and forward in time beats, and how he uses it as the punching noises, damn, Ren is an actual genius

Every reaction I've watched of Hi Ren, after it ends, silence. Wiping tears and silence. People, rappers, metalheads, musicians, neurologists, psychiatrist, therapeut, everyone. You dont leave a Ren piece without feeling "gobsmacked" 😅 Ren is a whole experience, is like he invented a new genre, cause just Bardcore seems too... little. Is like busking meets bardcore meets ska meets eminem meets lin manuel miranda meets bob marley and so much more. At the same time he's unique and rare. I'd even say he's the Everything Everywhere All At Once of music.
Loved the genuine reaction, it's always nice to see someone else who loves music and can relate to Ren's journey. And the trilogy... oof, is tooooooo much. The melodies, the guitar, the way Ren enunciates his words and how he goes from speaking music to beautifully singing, to rap, to anything else we don't expect. The scene reminded me at first of Joker, the alley, the coloring of the scene, the photography, everything. I wonder if Ren decides how the video will be or someone else does it with inspiration of his songs. Is very scripted and absolutely free at the same time and my brain can't understand but it is, and it works, it works. Isn’t this just what we are all needing in a vacuous world of toxic superficial messages which have shaped us into something other than what we are always going to be!
We are human, and means we have to accept we are all the wonderful and disgusting things humans can be in various mixes.
We need reality. Ren had given it in these stories for a few years now and we are only just starting to properly respond.

Great reaction again fella. The last time I felt really emotional about music that told a story was in 1979 with Pink Floyd's The Wall, (that's right, I'm a crumbly old geezer).

I watched my first Ren reaction a couple of months ago now when Hi Ren came out.
I have watched over 50 now and yours on Hi Ren and the Trilogy were some of my favorites.
You don’t mask your emotions and your voice is so calming and you make sense.
Every time you say “****ing hell” or “you know what I mean?” when you are at a loss for words is exactly those moments when I’m thinking the same thing.

The videography and production of the organic environments ... coupled with some of the best classical guitar playing on the planet ... with his storytelling/singing capabilities ... allows everyone to paint a picture in their mind of exactly what is going on. No matter if you want to see it or not. He puts it our there, raw, naked, and you have no choice but react ... emotionally ....
