Also he is has actually been ill since he was a kid. He has an autoimmune disease and Lyme disease as well as other conditions. He's just had surgery to help with the autoimmune disease.

Yesterday Ren premiered his new track Sick Boi. It's a lot shorter and stylistically different but also brilliant in its own way.
I would highly recommend a deep dive into his material, as it's impossible not to be impressed by the diversity of his talents. Tracks like What You Want are just pure fun, Beastie Boys style hip-hop and then there are the busking sessions with his band The Big Push, playing amazing covers of Rock and Soul classics.
I've seen Ren around Brighton for a while, and couldn't be happier to see him finally getting his due recognition having done it in spite of the music industry. His talent is just undeniable.

There are so many more incredible Ren pieces. Each one I see blows by mind more and more. The Tale of Jenny and Screech (Full) is a trilogy that is mind-blowing. His new release dropped yesterday called Sick Boi is incredible. Chalk Outlines in collaboration with Chinchilla (czcams.com/video/35yALr_opeg/video.html) is so good and showcases his singing voice, which is incredible. Money Game part 2 is so clever. It just doesn’t stop.

I didn’t know it was a trilogy and happened upon Violet’s Tale first. It was still great, but at the end I thought, okay, now I need to find out who Jenny and Screech are. Instead of a flashback it was a flash forward. Not terrible, but I can see why it’s better in the proper order. I wish he’d delete the individual videos and just have the full version available.
Look into Ren’s life story, this is a lot more of a personal opening up of his whole being than at first is taken from the performance… the man deserves all the respect he is now getting. Hope things are looking up brother, lots of people are seeing your talent and taking positivity from your talent… you are needed and making a big difference, never forget that. Great reaction Lee, I only discovered Ren recently but I'm hooked on the pure art and storytelling. It's also worthy of note that this was a live recording, no backing track or lip syncing and I'm fairly sure it was a one and done shoot. No retakes or edits other than switching cameras which all ran together. Truly a masterpiece

I really enjoyed your reaction video and that you responded to Hi Ren with all the enthusiasm it deserves! Thank you! I read that Ren had a record deal with Sony at a very young age but could not go through with it due to a severe undiagnosed illness that effected him both physically and mentally and lasted about 8 years. It was finally diagnosed as Lyme’s disease and he is now getting treatment but has still not fully recovered. Thanks again for acknowledging his brilliance!!

Calligraphy and poetry were my two life-obsessions before Ren. Now I'm especially convinced about the power of words when amplified by music genres and theater arts.

Ren just got to Canada for treatment's, a couple times a week & could be there for up to 6mo's... but he brilliantly pre-recorded song's/vid's & will be releasing them in due time. Also... he literally visualized his lyrics. Tiny light in the back casting a darker shadow in front of the brightest light showing lightest shadow. Him being sickly/stiff, then loosening up. Standing (growing) & fluidly moving about in full expression while his feet stay planted.

Wow!! I think I just discovered a new talent (to me!). This was great, thanks Lee!! I enjoy your reactions even when I don't particularly like the music. It's even better when I do like it a lot!! This resonates especially b/c I have a (different) chronic but debilitating condition. It's amazing that he can continue to make music when being so ill. I am very ill like he is! Tomorrow I am getting tested for Lime disease. The 9th so hopefully I will know soon. I’ve been sick for 23 years and I’m still a Mystery! Ren gave me the courage to get more answers and see more doctors! I am so sick it sucks so bad! So Ren is the reason I will not be dismissed again. I had a tick on my neck for a month. I thought it was a mole and I had long hair. I also had another tick on my thigh for 2 days at the same time. I found that one. I do remember starting slowly to get sick for a few years and the pain omg!

Evil Ren has the light behind him, so his face is in the dark, the lights flicker when he speaks and he strums his guitar more aggressively.
Ren himself has the light in front of him brightening him, lights don't flicker, and guitar strumming is smooth and low.
I watched Hi Ren 842 and 1/3 times (1/3, because a thunderstorm knocked out the power to my house partway through the song). Each viewing was like seeing it for the first time, and it still gives me chills (and brings tears to my eyes).
you’re probably my 20th reaction for this song and at this point I know where to skip to in order to see your reactions. But I always listen to the monologue at the end. It stuns me to silence every time.
I had pretty much the same reaction you did. One of the most creative things I've ever seen done by one guy sitting in a chair. It's also a live performance. I don't see anyone else out there doing something like this - e.g. creating musical theater single handed.

Unfortunately, the band called it quits very recently (nothing bad! Just all members were doing different things) you should check them out they're rad!

@@infin8reactions Great reaction video! The Big Push was Ren's Brighton-based band. They have tons of amazing busking videos that really show Ren's skills (and the other guys). Amazing performers and musicians. Just dive in. Guns of Brixton, War Pigs, I Shot the Sheriff, Wade in the Water, are all great covers. I'd also love to see a reaction to the Big Push's "Why My Woman" official video with Ren singing. I feel like it's gotten overlooked in a lot of the deep dives. It's far more accessible indie-rock, but a fun video. The live versions of their originals especially have great energy. I also like a lot of the videos with Ren just performing with his telecaster solo (Could This Be Love/So Lonely, Back to Black, etc.). But his solo stuff is really unique in a world of sameness. "Money Game" is tremendous (part one for video, part two for the song)

Basically the beginning of the song is his Evil side talking him down and telling him he can't amputate it - which is true because we are all good and evil.
The middle of the song is when evil get so upset with Ren arguing with it that it takes over as Ren's dominant personality.
Then the last part of the song is the Good side, the godly side, rising up and saying that Evil cannot have him because Good is just as much a part of Ren also, and the two sides must work together to make his life better.
And then at the end Ren is singing and dancing and the evil is flashing the lights chaotically, signifying that they are indeed all joined and going to work okay together. And that is what we all must do, as human beings, we must accept that we are both a Good and Evil, and work with that.
-At least that is what I personally took away from this piece amazing music theater.

I believe that the other side was Fear anxiety doubt and in the worst times he would look to that side for protection but by doing so it trapped him from mobing forward sonhe learned how to stand for himself.and navigate the dance he calls it in a positive way to listen to that side.but also know that there is hope.to everything and hes left dancing in the middle.finding rhat balance between normalcy and chaos

Usually I criticize ractionist for places where they stop music. In your case is completely opposite. You chose perfect places, alomost like you knew song before. But thanks to this and for not doing to many pauses your reacions are great. peace!
