Sir, partitation ka hme dukh toe hai. Par ek yeh bhi sachai hai ke agar partation nahin hota toe border Afganistaan ke sath lagta aur Hindustaan mein disturbance jyada rahte. The trouble with Urdu was not that Muslims took it as their literature of identity. It was that for decades, from 1857 onwards, there was a conscious and growing movement to revive Hindi, and to leave behind Hindustani and Urdu, which were two registers of the same language, written in different scripts. It was after this conscious effort by the likes of the literary genius Bharatendu, and of Madan Mohan Malaviya, that Hindi became increasingly a language representing the aspirations, social, economic, political, of the Hindus. It also led to the gradual squeezing out of the regional languages that had been in common use until then.
So, from a matrix of regional languages with a layer of Hindustani/Urdu over them, the situation became two hostile camps, one speaking Urdu, the other speaking Hindi, and the regional languages losing ground every year.
Urdu is the language of bigots formed in Mughal harems where women were r*ped.
Urdu was the attempt by Muslims Islamize indian culture. The long term goal was to wipe out indigenous cultures.
Partition was done by Muslims of uttar Pradesh, Punjabis didn't wanted Pakistan as a nation

To the best of my knowledge, Punjabi is derived from proto indo persian and can be written either in the Shahmukhi script or the Gurmukhi script.
There is one saying in punjabi "jis ne Lahore nahi vekhia oh aje jamia hi nahi" (one who has not seen Lahore, has not yet borne).
Lower middle class still is punjabi speaking but they write punjabi in "shahmukhi" (urdu) script.
Our elders who lived in lahore use to say walled cities, dilli and lahore comparatively (though not exactly) were same.
