- Thanks to its NWX (Natural Wood X) keyboard with synthetic ebony and ivory keytops and escapement, you'll enter a new world of realistic playability when you sit down in front of the Yamaha Clavinova CLP-645. And it sounds as great as it feels, with meticulously sampled Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand pianos onboard. Yamaha calibrated the CLP-645's cabinet for full-bodied resonance, so it sounds natural at any volume. And everything is packed into a gorgeous traditional-styled cabinet that will look great in any room. Also onboard is a 16-track recorder, so you can capture inspiration when it strikes.

great balance of entertainment and info. your hard work has certainly paid off.
Joseph Ross, you are so right. Without connectivity the functionality for so many others uses is non existent. This is a very nice piece. My very old Casio Privia has it all except it is USB 1 and with that has taken me thru the last 14 years. Upgrading to a Clavinova and looking forward to it
Enjoying your presentations!
Connectivity is everything! L/R out, phones, Midi in/out/thru, USB 2.0.. IMO, every keyboard should have them, regardless of make or model.. 👍🏼
Man that's what I believe as well but the CLP 625 is definitely just headphones out. The 645 has everything though
Are the outputs balanced or unbalanced?
You forgot the most important feature for most users: USB Audio Recorder, which allows to avoid so much ass pain for users to make their own piano recordings (no need all that mess with computer, audio interface, cables, connections, software, knowledge etc.). And also built-in USB Audio interface, which allows to transfer through one USB wire both MIDI and digital Audio. No Kawai, no Roland, no Casio etc. can offer this built-in USB Audio interface.
I have this...........great sound....
the 645 played and sounded better to me than the 665 "grand" version, but of course, if furniture value is an important factor for you...
Hello! Someone will say about this piano? I look after myself (used to play the Roland 401, I really liked the sound)
is this audio of the piano recorded digitally because i want to know if this is the exact sound quality it has.
Mr Hawkins is amazing, I want an autograph. What an asset, does he work at Sweetwater?
Thanks Rick. I truly enjoyed every second of my time at SW but I'm currently back to touring the world.
@@erskinehawkins3419 hi sir what is the song you played using the concert grand and the bosendorfer imperial concert grand @ 1:51?
Hi there. Just a short question. In YAMAHA CLP-635 both speakers are fixed under the main unit and the sound is directed "towards the knees of the player". What about YAMAHA CLP-645? Since it has 4 speakers instead of 2, I imagine that two of them are still faced down towards the floor but I'm not sure about the other two. Are they separeate from the bigger ones and are they directed "towards the face of the player"? Thanks for they reply and sorry for my English.
Other 2 speaker are inside cabinet.
got the piano!
Congrats!
Thanks Benjamin smith. i'm really happy with it....do you play piano, or any instrument?
Yes, piano.
does it let u hook it up to a bigger set of speakers?
what song is that you played using the concert grand and the bosendorfer imperial concert grand?
It is Peer Gynt Suite no. 1 by Edvard Grieg, beautiful stuff
Does it have inputs so you can connect your computer and play software instruments from the computer through the clp 645 speakers?
Hello! The CLP-645 has a single 1/8" TRS input, meant to use an aux cable to plug your phone or computer into the piano and practice along with backing music. So yes, you can do that!

The Yamaha CLP 645 has gradually weighted keys ?? please answer
Yes, it has GHS3 wooden keys, the feel is awesome
it has graded weight with natural wood keys
Does this need to be plugged into an outlet for it to work?
Hello, Christiana! Yes, this is an electronic (not acoustic) piano, and will produce no sound unless it is plugged into the wall for power.

What's the price of this CLP-645???
This or 635... I’m on a budget, which is more worth it? Also the 625 is only like 2k... I wasn’t particularly looking for an “entry level” piano, but is it worth it for the price?
I think the CLP635. The only big difference is more powerful speakers, blue tooth connection and wooden white keys on the CLP645. They sound identical in headphones. But, there's another piano coming out soon. The YDP184. It's, to me, A CLP630 or CLP635 lite. It's without the Bosendorfer. It may say Arius on it, but it has the same cabinetry as the CLP635, speakers and all, the same CFX sound minus the binaural sampling, but will be $300 to $600 cheaper (in the US, not sure of other countries but likely to be cheaper). If you can forego the Bosendorfer Imperial sound and upright piano, that will be an even better bargain. The CLP625 lacks the menu on the CLP635 and above, or the YDP184, also lacks VRM and piano room but has the Bosendorfer sound. I don't think that one is a good buy. The CLP645 is the best piano of the three. But, for my money and what's important to me, it's not worth the extra you pay for it. If you don't need the powerful speakers and bluetooth, the CLP635 does all of what the CLP645 does. But the CLP625 doesn't. The CLP635 is worth the money over the CLP625, in my opinion. I'm going for the YDP184, it will be announced sometime soon this month and may end up costing the same, or a bit more, than the CLP625.
I want to use the piano mostly with headphones but the wooden keys, are they 500€ more worth it? CLP635 or 645 hmm..
I'm looking for a new digital piano and today I tried both the CLP 635 and the 645. The CLP645 feels soo amazing. Feels soo real and pure! The feel of the wooden keys is soo much better and together with the much better speakers its worth that price imo. I think i'm going to buy it.
I love Kawai piano sounds too but I like that key action on the CLP 645 better than the most expensive Kawai digital piano's!.. cant believe it but its true. They feel to heavy and to rubbery imo. The key action on the CLP645 feels a bit more mechanical, but still real and smooth. I like it much better personally.
There's a big difference where I would take the 645. The 635 is basically made of plastic keys. The 645 is wooden keys...
Can I record MIDI to my pc or mac via 645's bluetooth?
Hello! Bluetooth on the CLP-645 is just for audio, so you can practice along with audio streaming from your phone. If you want to record MIDI, you'll have to do that via a USB cable. If you want to go into more detail, feel free to call!

@@sweetwater I asked this on so many reviews for the 645 but no one awnsered but you, oh my you monster MVP !
Thanks a lot!
Really honestly, do you think it's worth spending 500€ more euros for "wooden" white keys and better speakers on the 645 instead of the 635 ?
@@SanduTheMountainDweller Honestly, I do think the wooden piano key feel is one of the most important features of a high end home piano like this - action is incredibly important to a great playing experience, so I think the CLP-645 is worth it. If you want to dig into it, click on "specs" on Yamaha's page below, and you'll see a comparison chart of all of the pianos in the CLP range, and how they differ from one another:

@@sweetwater So does it have any usb port for using it as a midi device? ?
What happened to Mike from Sweetwater?
He works with Jake from State Farm now.
(kidding)
Does it feel like grand piano? The touch?
Hey, Taavi! Yes, the keys on these pianos feel excellent. These instruments use real wooden keys with synthetic ivory key tops, similar to the ones Yamaha installs into their acoustic grand pianos, and the action is scaled and graded across the keybed. If you want to talk with someone who has played these (as well as the Yamaha acoustic grands) give me a call!

So what's the point of buying this if I can't connect it to anything? What if I wanted to use the sounds on my DAW straight form the engine?
you can download your recording onto a USB and it will be in the WAV format.
My 645 speakers do not sound like yours.. what happened to my 645? any fraudulent replacement of the original speakers or your recording technique making the sounds much better than the original speakers?
