    Thanks for recording this video. This one was essencial to help me choose which one to buy for my mother. She had to sell her piano 26 years ago to pay some debts and she’s never got the chance to buy another one. Almost 3 decades later I can finally buy her a new piano! Thank you so much for your support.

    Thanks for the video :) I am torn! I am thinking of getting the CLP-675 but there are no reviews out! Apparently it has a new mechanism where the keys are the longest on a digital piano! Though the PRICE of the CLP-675 is close to the CLP - 585. Which one is a better deal? I play just with headphones 90% of the time. Or should I wait for the CLP-685?

    For me it would really be helpful to get a comparison between the different brands. You obviously have an upgrade of one or the other feature (and the price) if you go up within the same product line. It would be interesting to see the difference between the different manufacturers.
    For example is the semi-wooden keyboard of the Roland HP 605 really so much worse, is the Grand Feel II of the Kawai CS 8 really that much better? Or how about the compact version of the CA 58? Are the differences in technology so much better in the Roland and what am I missing out when going for the CS 8 with no Bluetooth for example? Is there a huge difference in UX between the small display and plastic keys compared to the touch screens of the CA 78/98 or does it just look a little fancier?
    I guess once we understand the differences between the brands it will be easier to compare models, no matter what price range you are looking for. Thanks a lot!!

    • @goldenshowercap9395
      @goldenshowercap9395 Před 6 lety

      I suppose I ought to elaborate a little: the 635 sounded 'nasal' and I thought that even before comparing it to any other models in the shop. By comparison the 645 could just 'breathe' and relax and sounded fuller and richer.

    Thanks for this video. Just bought the CLP-645. I was going to order the 635 but went back to the shop and compared the two side by side. As you mentioned, the additional speakers in the 645 make quite a difference. It sounds more open and less muddy. The wooden keys are nicer imho as well. Glad I saw this video before making my purchase. Cheers!

      Is NWX key fast responsive compare to GH3? Is the wooden key easy to break or loose compare to plastic key?

    • @1rcproductions
      @1rcproductions Před 5 lety +2

      @@townnet I am not much of a piano player, but I do play an acoustic piano almost every week day, and can say that the wooden keys on the CLP-645 feel very much like the keys on an acoustic piano. The plastic keys seem to respond a bit slower to me. The back keys on the 645 are plastic as far as I know and they seem to be pretty good, although the fake wood grain on these black keys feel a bit strange. I think the idea was to help keep your fingers from slipping. Overall we are very happy with the CLP-645.

      @@1rcproductions Is the CLP645 50w+50w sound level close to acoustic piano?

    • @1rcproductions
      @1rcproductions Před 5 lety +1

      @@townnet The CLP-645 is plenty loud in our living room. The sound is a bit more direct than an acoustic piano. I think the next level up in the CLP series has a sound box that may create a more resonant/dispersed sound similar to an acoustic piano. I am fussy when it comes to sound and am happy with our choice.

    • @ePianoscouk
      @ePianoscouk  Před 7 lety

      It's tempting to get a CLP545 on sale www.epianos.co.uk/product/yamaha-clp545b-clavinova-in-black-walnut/ currently about £400 cheaper than the new CLP645. I would say the major thing you'll miss out on is the Virtual Resonance Modelling (VRM) sampling technology, as you've seen me refer to in the video. If you plan on having the piano a long time you will really appreciate having this as it makes the playing experience so much more authentic. Also you'll not have bluetooth built in but this isn't such a big thing. Hope that helps

    • @BB-kw5bz
      @BB-kw5bz Před 5 lety

      For me it’s a clear yes. I like the feel of the Kawai much better than the semi wooden keys of the CLP 645.
      You might also want to check out Casio Celviano gp-300. I was surprised to see a decent Casio piano in this price range but I even preferred the Casio wooden keyboard to the clp 645 one.
      I didn’t like the Roland and the CLP 645 was ok. My clear favorite here would be the Kawai.

    • @alinutzalin6346
      @alinutzalin6346 Před 5 lety

      @@BB-kw5bz Welp, I'm sad to say that I've bought the CLP-645. And its hard to play inside the black keys since the keys are not long like the real ones. But well, its fine either way until I get some space for an acoustic one.

    • @BB-kw5bz
      @BB-kw5bz Před 5 lety +1

      Alinutz Alin Too bad to head you‘re not too happy with it. I think it’s hard to get the feeling of a real keyboard with any digital piano. And if you need to spend more money. I’d say starting with the CA78 onwards it becomes a bit better. But obviously nothing beers the real deal.

    • @alinutzalin6346
      @alinutzalin6346 Před 5 lety +2

      @@BB-kw5bz True, I had the opportunity to go into a store with grand pianos which cost 20k-200k and you can clearly feel and hear the difference.
      But I had a big problem, I was with a friends car and the parking was expensive af + he can't just wait for me.
      And I usually take around 10 hours + 2 weeks to decide since I compare and see what its best.
      The 4 things that really disappoint me about the Yamaha is:
      1. the thumping sound along the sound it does, really annoying, even more while wearing headphones.
      2.The key bottom out noise. If you play something forte, its like why do I even have a digital piano.
      3. As I mentioned in the previous comment, the tech i.e keys used are not long enough to balance the weight. So when pressing them near the black keys, you need to exert a lot more force.
      4. The sustain pedal is not mimicking the real one at all. This is common thing with digital pianos so its fine but still.
      I looked up and just the piano without the wooden support is 600 GBP cheaper which makes me wonder where does all that wood go.

    Hi there. Just a short question. In YAMAHA CLP-635 both speakers are fixed under the main unit and the sound is directed "towards the knees of the player". What about YAMAHA CLP-645? Since it has 4 speakers instead of 2, I imagine that two of them are still faced down towards the floor but I'm not sure about the other two. Are they separeate from the bigger ones and are they directed "towards the face of the player"? Thanks for they reply and sorry for my English.
