Great, now Apple’s gonna make a folding phone where you have to buy both parts separately.
They can't. Apple is generally 3-4 years behind Samsung in Hardware innovation and technology and Apple has never made a display. They buy them from Samsung and Samsung will start selling these in 1-2 years and only then can Apple release an outdated overpriced crap.

Mhmn, I got the note 10 a month after it came out cause I broke my note 5 April '19. I kinda regret not waiting for a flip since I could have lasted without a phone for a little while longer, but its better this way. Once I break this phone (likely in another 4 years, optimistically) ill most def go for the flip since id assume the tech will advance quite a bit.

I’m on 6s right now. In 12 months I’m getting my sis free hand me down 7. And 12 months from then, my moms free hand me down 8 plus. And the cycle continues

I got a free upgrade to the 8. I preferred my 6S, but the battery broke, I got it fixed... then it broke again, so I gave in and got the 8. It feels no different. If anything, I preferred the 6S
The nostalgic feeling alone is enough for me to buy a razor, man those were good days.

Startac and Timeport were more wider , like these, and ,even tho I do remember wide Razrs, the add keep reaching back to a more "narrower" Razr, which honestly I didn't notice that much of growing up.

It has been two years since the RAZR and Galaxy Z Flip launched and I have not heard from the RAZR since. Meanwhile, Samsung has established full dominance of the foldable phone segment. The design, specs, experience, and cameras on the Samsung are better in every way. You can only go so far with nostalgia. The Razr banked on its nostalgia charm to offset an underdeveloped product while Samsung improved on its pioneered technology. Both are good phones but Samsung’s foldables are on a different level with its quality. I admire how much they improve these foldable by the year. Just look at the original Fold to the Z Fold 2.
@@SeoWoojin55 you do realize that the Razr 2 already came out right? Razr 3 is already in the works. And besides, not everything comes down to pure specs. Yes of course Samsung has the edge in nearly everything. However, nostalgia aside, there are people who will prefer the design of the Razr, like myself. The Z-Flip literally looks like a normal phone when its not folded while the Razr has that narrow body along with the curved chin at the bottom. Again, I am not saying that it is better since it falls short in many areas like the camera and processor. However, I know there are people out there that will take those tradeoffs to get a design they prefer. Just my opinion.

I just bought the second gen of the new razr about a week ago after using iPhones for several years. And honestly? I love it. It does everything just as good as my iPhone 11 if not better, plus with the added benefit of being actually pocket-sized and having the use of the external display.

Honestly, if folding phones are going to be a trend, I hope that they follow the Razr. Build quality, battery life and performance can always be refined as new phones come out but the Razr phone just makes more sense. The way I use my phone on a daily basis does not require the full 6 or more inches that they keep putting on phones. That small interface on the outside just makes so much sense. Sure, it may have been the reason why the Razr has such a small battery but the SOC is pretty low powered and the phone is pretty thin so it could be a little thicker if battery life is a concern.
I used to have the Razer in high school, I miss that phone. It's good that phones are changing from just slabs.

That's why I think the book style folding phones like the the Galaxy Fold and Mate Xs make way more sense. Those actually have an advantage over current smartphones.

@Goofy Laws No, it's not for protection. In the galaxy fold samsung stated that without the plastic cover the screen will die with normal use. So it's more of a necessity and not a protective accessory item that you can remove. Also, I know that it has a thin glass layer under the plastic cover my comment is a joke, but as expected from the internet some 12 yr old will get a temper tantrum over anything lol.

I just happened to see your video and the surprising thing is I found my original RAZR phone last nite. I also found the charger. It is the pink, but have the black protective case. It charges and holds the charge as I charged it yesterday it was still full this morning. I just don’t have a SIM’s card for it. It’s amazing how much things change. I am 65 so remember the TV’s with tiny screens and actual tubes that had to warm up.
Anyway I just loved my RAZR when I got it.

The seclusion is easy : they can make the two parts of the phone have a spread screen and work together like a dual monitor PC and no bending screen problem , but they do have to make the gab seamless between the two screens.
I mean, c'mon, we already knew Samsung would trump Moto, but Moto did something really special too in focusing so hard on bringing people back that same experience the original razr line had!
