  • Hey everyone in todays video we will be installing Hybrid Racing detent springs on my 2021 Honda Civic Type R! The installation is pretty simple, all we had to do was take out the intake, battery, battery tray and then the 2, 12 mm bolts that has the stock oem springs inside. After installing it my first initial impressions were that the shifter wanted to go back into neutral from any gear position making it less likely to miss shift into another gear. The way the shifts are set up now is that it feels more rigid and you NEED to put pressure into your shifts which is a good thing when shifting hard. All in all for $20 it isn’t too bad and any stock shifter should see a more beneficial gain/feeling.

Nice install . I just found out about these springs. I think im gonna do these and the cable bushings together. I also need to change my tranny fluid. So ill be in that area anyway. Should make a nice difference doing all 3 things at once.

Looking to do this on the Fit, since the springs also work on the L series

I felt a noticeable difference in shifting from these springs, I’m sure you’ll probably notice a difference too on the fit

Is this a big difference than the oem detent spring? Worth the job?

There’s a pretty noticeable difference, it’s definitely worth the job, it’s not the hardest thing in the world, more tedious if anything but take your time and enjoy the process along the way. Majority of mods for this car you have to take the intake off anyways so once you get comfortable doing that, the install will be easier the next time around, I’m thinking of switching out my transmission fluid so the intake has to come out once “again” lol
