That’s why you don’t buy them at Disney.. Buy them at saber forge or something. They sell slick Hilts, their blades are on a totally diff level, and it’s shiny metal. Not some chungus painted on metal

@@andrewchu6370 The ones you build at Savi's are meant to look 'rustic'. Meaning, that they're not supposed to be slick looking or fancy, because (as the story goes) they are built with scrap metal and scrap parts gathered by the Gatherer's - a group that, well, gathers discarded components for Force sensitive people to build Lightsabers. I get the appeal of the fancier, slicker sabers, and in fact, they do sell those in Galaxy's Edge as well.
Except Saberforge takes almost a year.
The hilts are significantly wider than they really should or need to be.

@@way.noon1 if you see photos with the blade inserted, the hilt is still much wider than it would really need to be, even were such sabers sparring/combat capable, which is doubtful for anything other than very light sparring due to the neopixel blades. LED blades tend to be easily damaged.

I agree. They look to be greater than 1.5" diameter which is very uncomfortable. I built a saber that runs on drone batteries and has a 100w light driver that is 1.3" diameter. The Disney sabers are lowkey trash.
Even though the sabers in Rebels seem very thin, I can say that those sabers are not that wide because I have them and they aren’t as large or wide as they seem on camera.
I'd agree with the assessment that the hilts are too thick. They look a bit oversized, but other than that seem good.
TAW 1986 look at the old ones they used to sell! I’m just happy that I get the option to do this now! But I think as time passes they will change
Of course two years later, now that we have a live action Ahsoka, the size is spot on as they just give Rosario the ones they sell. Actually all of the lightsabers for characters introduced in live action in the Disney era have been designed with replicas in mind. Not something Lucas did in the prequel era which is a bit of a surprise.
Nice review! One thing I will say the "wobble" is a design choice by Disney engineering. If the blades where to be in there tightly and you where to fight with them. The vibrations would more than likely destroy the electronics inside. By having a semi loose blade those vibrations stop at the end of the blade and do not transfer as much into the hilt.

That actually makes a lot of sense
This has been confirmed by Disney imagineers. It was done because the internal plastic is relatively weak, and the hilt pieces(made of pewter) are very weak to shear force. You can build a better one for cheaper, but there is no better lightsaber package in the $200 range.

Conrado Javier they probably will. If they’re following Hasbro’s model they’ll do like they did with 80’s GI Joe and change models every 1-2 years (as opposed to OG Kenner who kept making the older merch the entire run).

I love how Ahsoka's sabers are slightly curved, like a mix between a regular and curved hilt. Curved hilts are dope, n Dooku's saber is my favorite. On the subject of how she fights, in actual history, the "reverse grip" was basically never used. If you have tried it, you know it is super akward and not very effective. The reverse grip was actually a knife fighting technique. Besides these days popular media, you would most likely NEVER see that style being used in a real sword fight.

Kitharian facts, I kinda hate Disney for doing that, the whole appeal of Maul's saber is that it is double bladed not just one.
Yeah I don't quite get why they didn't just include the whole thing for Maul's lightsaber. Maybe not completely assembled (the crate would have to be way too big) but at least have two individual lightsabers you can connect into what he has in the movie.

I need to get those!! They're really cool and she's my favorite force user! I was floored when she was revealed to be fulcrum. And I was so glad that she survived the civil war. I always knew she was going to be a hit due to her being a maverick. But yes, I need these in my life...and I do kinda like Ahsoka's blade sound better.

It seems like every Savi lightsaber has a sort of deeper sound to it compared to the Legacy blades. Honestly would prefer the former. And I'm definitely going with the lightsaber theme you chose when I eventually plan a trip to Orlando for Galaxy's Edge.

First off thank you for the video! While I was troubleshooting with one of my sabers I had no idea how to change the batteries.
Thought I'd give a heads up as well. I can't 100% confirm this info but this is what I was told. Basically my small saber/hilt was glowing red and at times would have issues turning on and staying on. When talking to Disney Merchandise to get an exchange they told me this woudln't be possible to exchange for another pair of the existing legacy saber set. Reason was the Ahsoka Tano Legacy (Rebels) sabers are no longer being manufactured. I'm assuming this also means whenever stock is sold out, their gone for while. They weren't able to disclose when they would be making a return. This is most likely to make way for the new Clone Wars version being released in the Fall as confirmed by Ashley Eckstein. Just an FYI for anyone planning to visit Disney World.

Interesting, this is the first time I noticed the diamond pattern on the hilt... I wonder if its a subtle homage to Barriss Offee... true she was responsible for getting Ahsoka kicked out of the Jedi, but since these are her adult sabers, maybe she realizes that ultimately saved her life and she put the pattern on in memoriam...

Once again I wish the hilts colors could be customized like the savi sabers because I love this hilt design (especially with the shoto secondary hilt) but I'm not crazy about the white blade

Where does the saber blade get the white color from? is it in the blade itself or in the hilt?
Has anyone experienced with these hilts that the blades are not quite white but more of a yellowish color? Idk if it’s the blade or hilt that is making my smaller blade turn some what of a yellow color vs the longer one is actually white.

I’ve gotten two 36 inch and one 26 inch blades and all three used in the ahsoka tano lightsabers the ends of the blades used in white are yellow is there a problem with quality at Disney and considering how much they cost I’m a bit angry
Hi, just wondering if you can help me. I'm in the UK and just got this set from ebay. I only have a 31 inch blade which doesn't fit the shoto hilt, is that correct? I thought the blades, no matter what length, fit every hilt.

My son bought this light Saber and when he turns it on its not white! More like yellow white . Now it's getting more yellow could it be the blade or hilt ?

I think your supposed to hold them backwards because she uses abnormal lightsaber handles and uses them backward in the clone/rebels series
not to be a stickler but tour holding them upside down. the curve is supposed to face forward your fingers. same can be said with Ventress’s sabers but because if the more aggressive curve you was holding them correctly. same will apply to a Douku saber if that is a product.
I have these. They are really oversize but they do look nice on display. I wouldn't buy them for cosplay or a Halloween. I figured they were rounder and bigger than expected to accommodate the internal components. I imagine Disney uses the same guts in every one to keep the costs down. A smaller, thinner hilt would require unique parts. For the price they charge though that's what they should done.
i was wondering why is you can buy ahsoka's saber and i mean both of them Rebels and the Clone Wars at one time but you have to buy Darth Maul and Assajj Ventress lightsaber individually
The "Fulcrum Set" from VADER'S VAULT are the best you can get on the market. Yes... i know... 2.500$ a VERRY much money but i'm a big Ahsoka Tano fan. So for me it's a must have.

Do you think anyone has or could make a die cast metal piece that would merge these into a double bladed sabers I’m huge on that kinda thing and they’re the same thickness. The pommel’s are interchangeable. It wouldn’t be too difficult :P

I think now that we have The Mandalorian: Chapter 13: The Jedi and the Ahsoka series coming to Disney+, I think I can appreciate these sabers more now that they are not slim in live-action form.

#Amateur-Madman it because the ones in rebel are really thin and since the blades at galaxy’s edge are a certain width they had to make the hilt bigger and also they have to fit in the electronics

TB, I think they are poorly sized with a ratio to her Rebels lightsabers. Although I do admit it would be very difficult to capture the thinness of the blades in an actual working one.
