I really like the fact that disney made the little "flaps" on top the lightsaber open and close. Kinda wish you could turn it on by turning the gear on the top of the hilt, but the button is still ok.
Agree I could over look the switch of that was the case but for them to do that would change the looks and size of the hilt there kinda a battle here that regardless there will be a negative
I bought this lightsaber at the Star Wars Trading Post store at Downtown Disney a couple of weeks ago, gave it to my mom for her birthday last Friday, and she LOVES it! Best birthday gift I’ve ever given her! 🎉
There’s such an easy engineering fix to this so you can twist the ring. You don’t need the switch going side to side on the outside. Whatever component that needs to be flipped to activate the blade can be used by turning the ring. If the ring had a bar welded or molded on the inside that was flat and long and metal so it didn’t wear out, you could turn the ring meaning the bar would turn with it flipping the switch from the inside eliminating the need for a switch on the outside of the hilt.
Just got this saber the other day when my friend went to Disney and picked it up for me on his vacation. It is indeed a very heavy saber, of good quality and I love the force effect it has after seven strikes. I do wish it did use the gear to ignite the blade but it also would’ve been cool if they added a function where the gear made the flaps open at the top as you turned it.

I'm upset that the Ashoka Rebels Saber was discontinued before I made it to Galaxy's Edge but this is a welcome addition. Hopefully I will get to Batuu within the next couple years.
I do agree. Disney appears to have given this hilt more attention to detail that the Leia one. The bandage hand grips are movie accurate, the manually operated emitter "teeth" are OK, but the activation operation and absent light windows are a let down. but overall, nice hilt. Because of this, the LGT Scavenger saber you and I have is supreme over this one even with the screw-on teeth!!
The yellow looks so bright and great!! I’ve been seeing that people said it has a green twinge but I didn’t see that at all with yours. Stoked to get one for myself!
I recently purchased this from Galaxy’s Edge along with Ashoka Tango’s lightsabers. I had to ship them back to the U.K but felt Rey’s in the workshop and it was a bit heavy but it’s great! I love Rey!❤

You should be able to order them online from Disney stores, with free shipping. I was able to find a Disney online retailer which carried them as well even though I bought Rey's at the park recently since my two favorites sold out there
Whenever they are going to show how maul repaired his saber i hope they ar going to sell that half and have a yellow and red Color to choose from like ahsokas sabers
You can fold the teeth in a little to touch the blade for a little more screen accuracy. Also, the 7th FoC flashes white to yellow a few times, idk why maybe a little Easter egg.
Picked one of these up when I was in Disneyland last November - I honestly think it's easily one of their best yet, really like it! Really nice weight and finish/texturing to it, and it feels properly scaled (rather than several of them that feel too thick / bulky). Agree with you on the downsides but since mine is primarily on display as a hilt they weren't dealbreakers for me - I've got it rotated to hide the switch as you say and they aren't visible until you pick it up and/or attach the blade
I love your reviews. I am fairly new to being a content creator on CZcams. I watched many of your reviews and other people to help me decide on getting a custom lightsaber. I am not a collector of lightsabers, however, I do like the many features that the different companies offer. I never intended to be a reviewer of lightsabers, but my only review of my Electrum Sabercrafts saber got more views than any other video I have created. I have since ordered a Saberforge saber and am waiting for it to arrive. I will probably do a review of it once I get it. It’s their version of the Princess Leia saber. I have watched your videos on the Leia saber offered by a different manufacturer, so I am curious what Saberforge’s will be like. So far, no one has done a video on theirs. Keep up the great work!
It's a shame that such a cool lightsaber replica doesn't have the same "gear-ignition" system as the movie. Would easily make it one of the most desirable lightsabers available
overall i really love what i've seen of this saber so far and can't wait to get my own. it's my favorite lightsaber hilt and i definitely plan on buying this one as well as a third party with the accurate ignition switch

I don't know why they didn't made the activation like in the movie. I think it shouldnt be that hard. But what I dislike most is the blade color because in the movie her blade is goldish yellow like a traffic light and not the light yellow the temple guards have
is there a revised version of the temple guard saber with a newer button? i remember the original one looked super flimsy and its something that disney would hopefully have fixed

If you do a short of flick twist or whatever you call it with the new Rey saber it does something cool that no other legacy saber does! It does it every 4 or 5 times

They didn’t have the reforged saber when I visited. - my second legacy saber was the Ben Solo saber that a friend bought for me when they visited the parks. 3rd saber was Obi-Wan Kenobi when they had it on shop Disney. I love Galaxys Edge. I hope to go again some day.

Recently got the Force FX Elite version of this saber. In terms of accuracy and craftsmanship, the FX one is much better (worth the 100 extra $). If you want something you aren't too worried about cracking the blade deuling with it, the Legacy one may be the better choice as you can buy the blades separate~
Great review! I do have a quick question, are the sounds the same as a Savi's saber with a yellow crystal or does it have unique sounds? It's kind of hard to tell in an online review.
Gotta give a big Kudos to Hasbro for their Rey Skywalker saber which will have the light in the emitter and the twist ignite. Hasbro’s sabers look better then they sound (which is what I care most about *looks*) but I am super stoked that they didn’t go the GE phoned in route in regard to this specific saber. Disney surprises me, with all that they charge you to enter their parks and to buy their food and gift shop products they couldn’t go the extra mile? If it was a cost concern thing people will pay it! You don’t go to DL without pockets fat with cash! Not these days anyway. Or perhaps the imagineers couldn’t work out how to get the twist and emitter light ignition effects into their saber but Hasbro did. 🤷🏽 FFX takes the win on this dual of the sabers by those two elements alone! Why even produce the product if it doesn’t behave like it does on screen? I have never been in the presence of a GE saber but I have many Hasbro FFX sabers and I even thought GE came across as slightly better then FFX but not so much in this case.

I don’t know if I wasted my time or if it was worth the $260. 2 bodies, 2 emitters, 2 switches, 2 pommels, and a cover as far as I know. Passion is black and red, passive is gold and gun metal, then peaceful for green and blue. Maybe you could be one of the first major saber reviewers to review and compare it to other savers from other companies.

The Force FX Rey Skywalker saber will have the twist ignition.
The flaps broke for me on the drive back home. I'm not sure why but it was in the case and one of them folds up and down without tension now

I know this is 2 years too late but yellow does have a green twinge, cameras make any lightsaber color look better than it actually is in person.

They could have added a led strip of sorts in the emitter so it is lit up since that’s thin enough
And the can code it so that when you flip the switch it turns on

the yellow sabers by disney do look quite green. it's my biggest problem with the disney sabers by far
