I mean... I love that it's innovative and comfortable, but holy crap it's ugly.
Also, I'm seeing these scissors everywhere on overseas multitools. My "True 2-in-1 Dual Cutter" uses it too. There's a lot of wobble in the pivot.
@Daniel McGlaughlin not this one, solid as a rock..this and nextool do a crazy good job
@@maxlvledc
I'm glad you checked in on this. I hate using sloppy fitting tools, especially scissors.
Really great channel. 👍&🔔.
Love the easy deployment.
Q- is this particular model available with a belt clip? Or a pouch with a belt clip?
@@focusonthefocus Good looking tools are nice, but "working" is rather more important, not that I think this is particularly ugly. If I'm honest, I see nothing wrong with this at all! Pity it's out of stock right now...
and for those wondering, there's 11 different blades that they sell for these.
Out-Fucking-Standing
I will never financially recover from this 😭
I just need one blade made out of a good steel like M390 or S30V
good because that tanto style is more about looks than functionality, especially on a multitool
now its like 14 or 15!
The utility knife and big scissors are a huge selling point ima keep an eye out
Agreed
I've got their tanto knife/scissors combo folder, and use it every day. Very solid construction and durable edges. It's a bit heavy overall, so I can only imagine that this multitool must be a real brick.
Yeah, the "no-joke scissors" that bend paracord instead of cutting it ⅓ of the time seem really great.
Goat tools are in the process of manufacturing their first modular multi tool.
With the ability to swap out all the tools.
Looks interesting, half price of a leatherman and has unique and practical designs
it's so nice to see a multi tool where you don't need wicked fingernails to deploy anything
Completely agree. I hate having to use my fingernails to get attachments out.
This is true.
As a fingernail chewer this shits fucking awesome. I’ve gotta use a little pry bar or some other shit like that on some leatherman implements
Or kung fu finger tips
Can someone tell me its name and where I can find it ❤
TSA will love these. They'll make great Christmas gifts for TSA employees & their children.
They can just confiscate the blade. You just click out the blade and there you go. Non-knide multitool
@@TheArter84that isn’t going to stop them. They’ve taken my tiny medical scissors. You might as well just hand this to them and save time. 😂
Or you could just put it in a checked bag
Just be a normal person and put your knives and multi tools in checked in luggage
Literally just started seeing this (and ones like it) all over amazon. Boggles my mind why companies like leatherman can’t come up with simple innovations to problems that have existed for decades, and when they try, we get stuff like the free series where literally every other tool is sacrificed for the sake of a tiny bit of convenience.
I was thinking the same thing, I haven't seen much innovation with the Leathermans. not many new ideas. this one is half the price and is pushing some new features
The removal of the plate seems like poss pat infring on the crkt knives
@@patrickhowell2502 No it's not. CRKT doesn't own the patent on "being able to remove scales easily without tools", they just own the patent on the physical mechanism that allows for the release of the scales. This definitely doesn't use the same mechanism, and clearly operates under a differing latch, lock, and release. Infringing on a patent requires a copying of the physical mechanism and where it operates on the physical product. This is why Andrew Demko's Shark Lock and Snecx' Super Lock both exist in the same realm of locks, yet aren't exactly copying one another; as far as the engineering behind each lock is concerned.
Haven't seen decent scissors like this since Gerber Diesel
Check out goat tools. If it's as good as I'm hoping it will be, then no more leatherman purchases from me.
These are the best ones I have ever owned, I came across a large golden retriever that was caught up on some fencing and I cut it free but promptly lost my Roxon multi tool into the canal next to us. Glad to have made the sacrifice but I miss my Roxon. The scissors are no joke and worked perfectly when I needed them.
I'm not going to lie... when you flipped out the "Scissors" I was extremely impressed.
THAT is a really cool feature, for an unfortunately ridiculously cheap multi-tool. I've bought cheap multi-tools in the
past & always regretted it.
Oh my god. This is exactly what I've been looking for, I'm going to be ordering multiple items from this company. Thanks
Definitely want to try one of these. One of the frustrating things about multi tools is not being able to choose exactly the tools you want to carry.
Look into GOAT TOOLS
Lord that blade got me, and those scissors were pretty impressive too 🔥
The swappable knife is a great idea, having a work knife on a multi would be handy af
Thats one of the most well designed multitools ive ever seen
This, and all others must bow down to the Leatherman Wave Plus!
So satisfying.
Thanks for reviewing budget tools & knives. Not everyone can spend hundreds of dollars on knives and what-nots
That looks pretty awesome. Those scissors are some size!
This thing really got my Roxon
Rox on bro! Good find.
I got this and so far it's my favourite multi-tool. Obviously I wanted a Leatherman, but just could not justify it. super great tool!!!
I'm a dedicated Leatherman man, but for their graduations I got both my boys Roxons. For the price (the reason I didn't get them Leathermans) they're very capable multi tools.
Father's day gift incoming
That’s really coool. I kind of want to order one right now…
right meow?
@@maxlvledc white meow
Been thinking of getting a multitool to add to my battle belt. Looks like it might be a great option.
Ikr. Was thinning the same thing. And the blade switches out. Never heard of another that does.
Roxon makes some pretty unique tools. I have one in my collection that has those same full size scissors, but you can completely remove them from the tool. It's the only multi-tool I've seen that does that.
Oh, thanks man. Now I have to get one. My wife will never know.😁
Buy her one!
God DAMMIT, the replaceable utility blades are EXACTLY what I was looking for.... I even just bought a folder to teardown for parts for a custom build..... This is so cool god dammit.....
haha, why more companies dont have utility knives is beyond me.
Impressive. I love how the quick release appears to look like an unlocked lock symbol when its open!
That's the most well thought out multitool I've ever seen.
Neat! Cool video. Please carry on!
And due to your regular video that covered this, I ordered one and the pack that gives you the utility knife. Can't wait to have it myself. Wish it didn't have such a long delivery time. Great vids!
I've seen this (or at least similar roxons) on Amazon a few ( dozen) times and wondered if it's worth buying. That blade swap feature has me thinking I may need to buy one.
I just added this to my Amazon wishlist.
I looks like a Walkman from the '90s
Leatherman with RTX on
Looks like a beast. Very impressive
I got a Roxon that’s just a knife and a large pair of scissors and it’s great the scissors are better than most every pair of dedicated stand alone scissors I’ve tried !!
*"THESE ARE NO JOKE SCISSORS"THEN THE QUALITY PARACORD COMPLETLY FOLDS IN THE SCISSORS NOT BEING CUT AT ALL.LOOOOOL!!!*
Most scissors struggle as the tip
Why are you yelling? Is this really the best thing to happen to you today?
Excellent piece of kit to have on your person, because you will never know when you might need that edge which may save your life.
That's actually pretty cool. I can replace a worn-out knife.
These mechanism always spook me with the classic...pop right off just when i need it the most
Not ready to give up my Leatherman. But that is pretty cool!
Get your Roxon. It's so good, it's like getting your roxoff
Just got mine, It design is great 10/10, the scissors is sturdy not an after thought, The pliers felt as if there was grit of somein it but great too. Id say the id give it 8/10 over all. So Its staying. I have a smaller one too it got me our of trouble as an engineer with some Electrical harness assemblies .
Got a Leatherman wingman too but the scissors on it was rubbish so its going back
Sweet tool.
Thumb's up for the tip! Those DO seem worth the money, yet still quite affordable at about half the cost of most any Leatherman. Personally, I'm a big fan of the humble Walmart housebrand _Ozark Trail_ 12-in-1 Multi-Tool for just $5.94 nowadays. They're basically just a Leatherman knockoff for less than a tenth of the price. Sure, they ain't the pinnacle of the toolmaker's craft, but they're handy and "good enough". I've got an actual Leatherman, a gift from an old buddy, that I keep in the garage, but have those Wallyworld ones stowed here and there. Every vehicle or boat should have one on board. A couple of winters ago I bought like a dozen of them on a Seasonal Clearance of various camping gear for just a buck each. Several went to friends, but one tucked into the toolkit of a finicky old British motorcycle I nurse along has legitimately saved my bacon several times by the side of the road, and tucks neatly into the tool kit in its rugged little snap-shut case for which one might alone spend $5. They can be a bit stiff out of the package, so the trick is to limber them up a bit by just opening and closing the different doodads repeatedly, with then maybe just a droplet of oil at the hinges. But for less than the cost of a six-pack you really can't go wrong.
So glad this popped up on my feed! It's now in my shopping cart.
This roxon gets my rocks off
Those tiny clasps will probably jam from sand and dust quite easily
If you're articulating them to change blades in the field I could see that being a problem too. Idk how likely I would be to carry extra blades, I wonder if the case has a compartment for them.
Dude those are really good
Having a removable blade is useful if you want to fly and you are only taking hand luggage.
My situation very shortly :( I have to drop a whopping 2 items of my EDC. At least my flashlight has a AAA adapter.
The saw or scissors would be allowed!?
I bought one of these last summer. Got a variety of blades, too.
Other than the missing file 😮, I really like it. And yes, the scissors are excellent!
Have one, love it
I got previous version with corkscrew - awesome!🎉
Bought one because of this video🎉
And a ruler in centermeters, thats great!
that sounds like a god multytool fore under 50
Had mine for about 18 months and I use it every day. The blades are also excellent quality, don't dull quickly and keep an edge when sharpened for a long time.
Handy hint; the whole thing can be disassembled, so if you're handy with a drill you can cannibalise other multitools and make them fit into this one.
They have one that's only scissors and knife, been eyeing it quite some time! Would be a nice EDC
I have one its very good multi tool and reliable i also have the knife and scissors together only you can buy just the interchangeable knife too
That blade exchange is awesome.....
Looks Brilliant
That is pretty cool. Think I’ll stick to my leathermen but this is still really neat.
I've got one older and smaller and with a key chain ringalso has plyers
I like this one a lot
I bought these a couple of months back looking for a cheaper alternative to Leatherman. They are amazing. Everything is very sharp out of the package.
Definitely worth the purchase!
The larger scissors is what sold me on them. They also have many other multitools and other items on their Amazon web page.
I am.stunned with scissor
i have this and the m3 that fits perfectly in my pocket pouch, because the phantom i got lacks certain functions the m3 has.
My brother giftede the pocket knife/scissor combo. Its pretty awesome, i didnt know they did multitool.
Wowzer!! 😲 ...hello there! 🤤🤤
Bought their scissor knife model, the tanto blade was sturdy and held up very well against heavy plastics and rough wood, and the scissors are the same as in that video
I love it love it love it
One possible downside Ive heard about this tool is that the steel used is pretty soft and can dull quickly but maybe they have updated it with better steel.
Who cares if you can replace the entire blade
@@Civiliansoldier762 sure for the blade. If they use the same steel on the scissors. How many cuts you get b4 they need sharpening? A blades easy to sharpen,, those scissors not so much. Yea it can be done just not as easily.
Make it out of some harder steel... oh wait it from China not gonna happen..
@@matthewbeaver5026 shows what you know. Some of the best quality blades and material combos for the price are coming from China these days. Companies like Kizer have left US companies like benchmade in the dust and I own a lot of benchmade knives.
@@matthewbeaver5026civivi is from china and they use nitro-v, s35vn etc... you can find products with good steel from china you just have to know where to look.
Can confirm, rock solid build quality, carried as part of my EDC for over a year, absolutely insane value for money, cannot recommend enough.
The blades are also compatible with their pocket knife equivalent (can't remember the model name), and being able to pull the blade out of the frame with ease makes it super easy to sharpen and manipulate with a blade grabbing jig style sharpener like the lansky.
How's the metal hold up does it keep an edge or need constant sharpening?
@@matthewbeaver5026 Holding up fine so far, but I'm not exactly exposing it to abuse. I don't cut glue bonded cardboard with it (fastest way to dull an edge) and I'm not trying to baton hardwoods with it!
Used for cutting meat, soft (green) vegetation and the softer types of plastics hasn't appreciably dented the blades edge, and I'm principally using the thinner edged spayfoot blade, so the thicker and more robust one that the Phantom ships with should hold up fine unless you're cutting open sandbags all day.
Blade retention is terrible on knife and scissors. Absolute garbage metal. That's why the price is so cheap.
Must have got them lots of sales ! I went to buy via link and they not got any left ! Best advertisement they could have !
I still use a Coleman Prolock, that I've had since I was 16 or 17.
Almost 20 years of abuse and it's still going strong. It has removable tools on both sides, and was supposed to have a series of inserts but they were never made sadly.
What a time to be alive, my Brothers!
Looks really good
I'got some similiar Roxon for few yeras and I'm very glad. Good stuff
That's pretty cool!
Just saw this for the first time yesterday on Amazon. I’m guessing that’s why your video popped up in my feed today… big bruh is always watching… 👀
Wow that looks pretty awesome
Ya got me sold!
Sweet I will have to pick it up
Proof there is still plenty of room for innovation in the quest for the one knife to rule them all.
ROXON Garth.
ROXON Wayne!
Same reason i buy IT 😁
Woah. I definitely want one
Damn, that fetcher of being able to take at least the blade apart is awesome looking, x3 i ruined 2 multi tools because I wanted to clean it up properly (one was old and the other must had been to close to a lacker bucket lol) but I didn't realize that all the shims was in different sizes and combinations so I never was able to rebuild them
Thanks!
this is the 1st knife iv commented on coz it's so cool. I'd like one of those. it's looks so handy. 👍🇮🇪💚🙏🏼
It's bulky, but, other than that, it's tremendously appealing. I have a Victorinox with lifetime warranty, but, if I didn't, this would be my first option.
That's definitely an awesome looking and unique looking multi-tool I need that in my life
The phantom! 😳The Box cutter and the fact that you can make it "lifeless" is deffinitly a selling point for me.(one handed blades are a Problem here in germany)
And my local knive shop got it in the window.
I was just look at those on Amazon the other day
Im impressed
For 8$, I got the budget version of this budget multitool! It has all the same elements, including a one handed blade, that is easy to flip out, and has a lock bar. Except on mine the scissors come off easily, not the knife. Also it only has a couple of implements. Anyway, it is basically a super budget version of your phantom.
Gonna Have To Get One! For Sure!!! J
отличная вещь 👍
I remember having one of those as a kid but it was like a lock pick and it would unlock nearly any lock including some car doors
