    Man, those 8 year olds in China sure are working hard to get us a $45 multitool!

    Roxon has been doing great work lately, and it may be the best among Chinese multi-tool brands.

      Yeah and add Nextool and maybe GHK.
      I wish plenty harvest resells some of their multitools.

    I like the length of the philips head for recessed screws, the file is idiotic though ! lol
    The D2 blade and its robust shape are outstanding 👍
    The awl is totally the wrong shape, they're used for starting/enlarging screw holes in soft wood, aluminium or plastic. It needs to be a Victorinox style spike ! ( Even Leatherman get this wrong though !)
    I really like how the ferro rod is protected from moisture, that's a nice touch.
    I wonder if they removed the flat head and Philips they could almost fit a 4mm socket ?
    Learherman could really learn from Roxon's responsiveness to customer feedback 👍

      I have the KS2 elite which has the same awl/reamer. I prefer it over my SAK ones.

      I have a Leatherman free P2 and actually quite like the awl shape there. Admittedly, I've mainly used as a scraper or for adding a hole in a belt that was too big for my son but it does both jobs quite well!

    The sharp edge on the saw is your ferro rod scraper

    I bought the KS2 elite because of your reviews. And I really like it except for two issues (that I can totally live with):
    1) having the knife thumb stud on the same side as the clip means I have to always rotate it when I take it out my pocket to fire out the knife. It’s frustrating.
    2) the thumb stud doesn’t seem to be removable which makes sharpening the blade much more difficult than it needs to be.

    Another nice review. I quite like the tool in this version. Tolerances are tighter than in the old one I own. They actually used and improved the flip out tool set from the KS2. Biggest improvement was materials overall and the flat head which was lacking. The whistle ferro rod is more secure than in the old version for me too. Very little wobble in the handles on my version. Pouch is too big. Almost want a Leatherman style pouch instead instead!

    Does the 4mm bit adapter come with the tool? Do the 4mm bits come either the tool?

    I wonder if they tested the twisting strength of the Phillips head…?
    Also, who heat treated the D2 for them?

    DIN - Deutsche Industrie Norm (Gemran industry standard).
    1.4116 is the typical German kitchen knife steel.

    Love Roxon and what they are doing but aside their KS2E, there is always something missing or odd. To be fair, it's true for all brands. But since I primarily use muti-tool for camping, I was a bit more disappointed than usual by this one. I'd rather have something smaller like the Sog Powerpoint (or something from Roxon M series but with better steel), however, if I had to carry a bigger MT, I'd rather have a real file and their awesome scissors than the Flint stone/Whistle. Those can be packed separately and beside, their usefulness is questionable.
    Thanks for the review though.

    My question is, is it rust proof?? The knife isn’t, but if the rest of the tool is I would consider it. The leatherman is rust proof and I pay more to buy it. My thoughts. Thx

    Where is roxon based out of? I haven't bought any of their stuff yet but I've enjoyed seeing their new stuff. I wanted to get my wife a signal for her first large multitool so she'd quit stealing my wave. Do you think this would be a good option as a first tool for her or should i get her the new modular roxon?

    • @hvacbudget8600
      @hvacbudget8600  Před 4 měsíci

      I think the Flex would be a more comfortable option just because it doesn't feel as stocky as the Flash. Both are great tools but the Flex feels more refined.

      @ryangriffith1500 Před 4 měsíci

      @hvacbudget8600 i think the flex is what she'd want. I don't think she understands fully how cool the modular system is! Thanks for your opinion. She is always using scissors though. What do you think of that tool with the shears instead of pliers?

      I suspect Dixon are aiming for a specific price point and the D2 blade increased the cost significantly. ..

      The elite version of the KS2 comes with the bit set. They might bundle it with this as well now.
