I love watching people from the industry getting excited about other movies, shareing these emotions. They're just like us- they are fans too.
Me too
cause they are like us... what. they are humans 💀
@@1saamor897 Some of them…
That was a celebrity hate joke, I realize it may have come off as a reptilian conspiracy joke. That was not my intention.
0:45 Brendan tearing up over ratatouille is just me 🤣
I sobbed my eyes put at Everything Everywhere All at Once, it translated how I and so many other people feel about life and their families. It wrecked me.
I was about to say the same. You saved my comments. I was wondering am i the only one who mentioned that movie in here. The power of family, relationship, redemption and love, it's just..... You know?
Me too...🥲
I've seen it..a lot lol and I cry every single time. Resonated so deeply.
I REALLY, REALLY ... HATE THAT MOVIE...
More videos like this please... I get so bored with the standard celebrity chatter about fashion and what do you expect tonight etc etc. I love these sort of oddball questions, it gives you a better sense of someone's personality.
Yeess, most of these red carpet/awards show type interviews are drivel about who's gonna win (an outcome most people won't even remember 5-10 years from now), who are you wearing, or basically just asking the interviewees to fall over themselves gushing about their collaborators and fellow nominees, which gets very, very boring and repetitive, and most answers end up slipping into autopilot as a natural result. I like questions that actually have attendees talking about what they like _about_ certain movies/roles, to reveal their tastes and personalities.
That’s actually a great idea. People would relate so much more to them than talking about whatever $20k dress/suit they bought for one use.
Aftersun and Close take the prize for RIPPING my heart in pieces. Surprised close not being mentioned at all
Same!
Was thinking the same thing.
Brendan deserves this so much, had my heart broken from start to finish
It is so great see him back to a normal state, doing his job and enjoying it.
An absolutely shitty and ugly movie with a prurient gaze.
@@TheSpiritOfTheTimes sounds like your chastity belt is itching, mate.
The Whale for sure. The performance Brendan Fraser delivered, especially towards the second half was outstandingly emotional.
Man I really hope Paul Mescal gets an Oscar. Brendan Fraser was amazing in the Whale too, but for me Paul Mescal touched my soul on the deepest level
Have yet to see Aftersun can’t wait.. I thought the Whale was fantastic
that movie broke me for days it was so personal and I wasnt ready for that movie's impact
@@ryangoodrich4148 its incredible
Loved Aftersun and the Whale, and funnily enough I almost never cry when I watch movies but I cried during the endings of both Aftersun and the Whale haha. I saw them on the same day! Aftersun first and The Whale half an hour later ! In my opinion Brendan Fraser deserves the Oscar a bit more...Paul Mescal's performance was great but it was understandably more repressed and internalized than Brendan Fraser's performance which was more out there and therefore he showed more of his acting chops, although I do like an understated performance, don't get me wrong. I just feel like Brendan Fraser's character was much more present whereas Paul Mescal's character was more absent and fluctuating due to the dual nature of his character, giving Fraser more time to shine.
@@-Roos97- yeah agreed, respect to both of them. They probably give oscar to Austin Butler.
The fact that the director for one of the most brutal movies cried watching a rom-com is great
Which one?
Which director?
Edward Berger 3:52
Of all the movies this year EEAAO made me bawl, something about the acting and writing of the scenes in that movie just gets me. Even on my 10th watch of some scenes I still cry.
I was about to say the same. You saved my comments. I was wondering am i the only one who mentioned that movie in here. The power of family, relationship, redemption and love, it's just..... You know?
Actors have such a huge gift of empathy, of course they all cry easily. ❤
Brendan crying at ratatouille 🥲 so lovely
@@juicebox5883 ego's flashback gets me because it reminds me of my own mother +my grandfather who was a chef and it affects me more the older I get
It truly is a gift.
@@juicebox5883 i do too🥹
Paul mescal did such an amazing job in that movie
i cried at aftersun. Paul Mescal was painfully brilliant.
“Aftersun”. I can also cry talking about it.
Watching aftersun, especially the under pressure scene was an other-worldly experience.. I forever will be grateful for that movie. Paul mescal ❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely, the "this is our last dance" lyrics hit so much harder now
I love that they included Malala’s opinion 🤘🏻💛
Why tf she even there? Lol
@@elmaestro1064 She was executive producer on Stranger at the Gate
@@audreynogales so you allegedly get shot in the head and all of a sudden you're a movie producer?
"I am a softie". Yes you are, Brendan. And we love you for it ❤.
I cried with Everything Everywhere All at Once, on the emotional scene between Evelyn and Joy towards the end.
Thanks for your continuous love and support astronomer❤️❤️
For how long have you been a fan of mine astronomer??
I watched Cinema Paradiso a few months ago. That was when I cried watching movie lately. That Closing scene with that BGM was amazing.
The Whale got me to leak a tear towards the end; but the sheer childhood sadness of Aftersun pulled out a couple more when I saw it a week later.
I saw the thumbnail and said "is that Malala".
I remember hearing her story in school, she even came down.
Nice to see her again.
Why is she there?
@@EchelonPandora she directed a documentary and I guess she was nominated
And she does nothing for her people just like greta thunberg.
@@sagniksaha7387 What is blud waffling bout 🚶🏿🤷🏿
@@EchelonPandora she's the executive producer of the film Stranger at the Gate. I just watched it on CZcams and it's an amazing film. It's been nominated for Best Documentary Short Film.
I can 100% relate to what Daniel S said about Aftersun. I've cried many times just thinking about that movie.
Everything, Everywhere All at Once is just phenomenal. The mix emotions I felt while watching it was just, indescribable.
I gotta watch it for second time. Too many layers and lessons in that.
Its not the most recent movie I've cried to but Sound of Metal has made me cry more than I've ever cried in a movie before the ending without spoiling it was so brilliant I sobbed throughout the whole end credits and then cried again trying to explain how good the movie was to my dad
Such a great film!! Love that ending
Such a good film and great ending, it’s on Netflix in Canada and I loved the sound design
Riz Ahmed 💪🏾
EEAAO and Aftersun have the power to wreck my tear ducts at any altitude. 😭😭
About two monthes ago, and it was the titanic.
Im a guy ,25.
Titanic is the kinda movie that us guys were embarassed about as kids, and kinda disliked,
But as you grow older, you realize how iconic it is and how it is one of the best movies ever made.
It was the scene when she was in america, and saw the statue of liberty....
Rose theme always gets me.❤
Love that Kwan mentioned Women Talking and raising sons. Absolutely insane story behind that film - "insane" in that it's horrific, not that it's farfetched. In an era where (extremely popular) influencers are making unthinkable amounts of money by shilling hatred and immorality to the youth, specifically boys, we need films like this more than ever.
I think it's based on real events that happened in a colony is Bolivia. So yeah. Not far fetched at all 😢
❤❤❤❤ Love that movie 😢
I now really love Todd Field even more, and Edward Berger, who I know only based on what he directed previously. Both of them did not just say the most recent movie released, but those that actually (and continually) bring tears and meaning to them.
Malala - not sure about movies but do you remember the time a bullet was shot in my head? yeah that made me tear a little.
The Banshees of Inisherin
Made me cry real bad man .
RIP Jenny 🙏
I cried during The Fablemans within the first 5 mins because we were watching "Stevie" watch his first movie (i'm assuming), it's the moment that would eventually impact an entire future generation and then realizing my first movie was The Land Before Time, which Spielberg produced.
I read somewhere that there are actually scientific reasons that make us cry more easily on a plane! I think it's about the air, that's less dense so we breathe less oxygen and that makes us emotional or something😂
This was a fantastic question to ask, you should do it every year (if you don't already that is)! Really enjoyed hearing their answers.
Wakanda Forever; the opening scene and the final one when Shuri just mourns T’Challa and Lift Me Up starts playing, breaks me down every time.😢
Spoiler - T'Challa's DEAD????
Same for me. I cried in the beginning middle and end!
I have to say. I am SO elated for Brendan. His comeback has been SO well deserved, so dreamlike, and also thank God it wasn't Austin Butler lol. But My God, Paul Mescal in Aftersun has become one of my favorite performances of all time. So of course he is my personal win for 2022. But the fact Paul got nominated, is in itself a win too considering I never thought he would get nominated for a performance as understated as his in "Aftersun".
I would love to see Brendan Fraser win for many reasons but I think it should go to Paul Mescal. Aftersun completely destroyed me and it brought me to tears more than any other movie has before 😭
I was expecting more of them to say Aftersun tbh.
Right? I guess many havent seen it, which explains why it didnt get in best picture
I cry in almost every movie and TV show. I'm very emotional. But the film that got me bawling to no end from beginning to end was Silenced (2011) and it's currently on Netflix. When I think/talk about it, it makes me weep.
I had only shed a couple of tears watching certain movies, but EEAO did make me cry (like a child). Might even sound dramatic, but I felt everything that night: anger, emptyness, comprehension, jelousy, tenderness, joy, love and hope. I dont think this movie will have the same effect on everyone, but I take comfort that it did on me.
im absolutely bawled watching everything everywhere all at once, it was so emotional and not in the usual way it caught me so off guard
i've never actually cried at a film, although i will admit i got close while watching "loving vincent". i don't know if it was the animation style, the narrative, or something else entirely, but it just spoke to me on a quite personal level
I also cry when describing movies that made me cry
I watched the Whale last night and after it ended I couldn't stop crying for 10 minutes. That hadn't happened to me in a long time. I guess it got to me because I related to the main character as I too lead a sedentary, reclusive life living on junk food, fearing that I'll die alone of some illness without anyone noticing...!
Even though you know what to expect, his performance and the way it's told can destroy a person.
Top Gun Maverick came for me out of left field. Maverick struggling with the responsibility of not only teaching them how to do something impossible but also trying to salvage his relationship with his surrogate son was not the level of depth I was expecting in an action blockbuster. Mav's scene with Ice is absolutely brutal and a wonderful bit of acting. I really hope Top Gun wins best picture even though I'm not usually for the large tentpole films - it's just too good as a bit of filmmaking to ignore
that's the kind of emotionality that Brendan Gleeson can't stand. It's constructed so the movie can have an emotional component. Doesn't come from a real place.
Nah I love TG:Maverick but it's not Best Picture material
When he said, "I'm not a teacher, I'm a fighter pilot" , that moment immediately broke me in the theatre and I couldn't stop tearing. Too much emotion at one second.
All Quiet On The Western Front teared me to pieces, can't agree more with Colin Farrell. Must watch for everyone these days!
Aftersun broke me like nothing else has before. I'd love Paul Mescal to win best actor.
Thanks for your continuous love and support kirstybubble❤️❤️
For how long have you been a fan of mine kirstybubble??
@@Tomcruise943 Who are you??

Last movies to really hit me in the feels like that were Everything Everywhere All at Once and, of all things, A Mighty Wind. "A Kiss at the End of the Rainbow" just really touched me, what can I say? It's a genuinely great song!
More precious than a pot of gold 🎶
I cried watching movies all the time, and gotta agree that the plane always got me too. Worst part is when you're in economy seats, trying to muffled that sobbing voice, and hide the messy face just so people don't panic.
Loving to see people from the movies I've watched talking about other movies I watched
I cry everytime I go to the multiplex to watch a movie. Even if the movie isn't emotional, the price of the food items sold there definitely make me cry.
I rewatched Pan's Labyrinth a few months back and was bawling at the end of it.
Last time I properly cried watching a film was probably watching the amazing Anthony Hopkins in "The Father". But I'm very sure I shed a tear watching another film after having watched that one.
EDIT: I remember recently crying to Tatsushi Omori's "MOTHER", which was devastating. An excercise in suffering.
EDIT2: 4:14 That actually happens to me when I talk about the SImpsons episode "Lisa on Ice". That episode kind of burst open a dam for me though.
Not a film but I teared up watching Steins;Gate 0.. finished it yesterday.. The series is a masterpiece.
Oh man, that' one is a trip.
Love this- feels genuine
I cried during elvis. Choked up at times, and cried at the end.
Really appreciate the shout-out to Notting hill! It's the movie I watch every few months and I'm glad I'm not the only one 🤧
Thanks for your continuous love and support hamzajan❤️❤️
For how long have you been a fan of mine hamzajan??
i‘m surprised close wasn’t mentioned, it’s the saddest and most touching movie i’ve seen in a long time
That was beautiful.
I love these videos so much
Four months after I first saw "The Quiet Girl", and saw it several times after that, I still think about that film and its characters and setting every day.
Saw The Whale yesterday. Incredible!
Same thing happened to me with Aftersun, but like 3 months later. Nothing quite like it.
I’d absolutely jump up and down and scream in excitement if Paul Mescal wins best actor. I know it’s between Butler and Fraser (and I hope Brendan wins), but man, Mescal’s performance is one of the best I’ve seen.
Coco my nan passed away a few weeks before, I wasn't ready for that.
So glad some of them mentioned aftersun
I’m not a crier. But Coco the Disney animated movie tore me up!
Paul Mescal is the next legend in the making. He killed it in Aftersun.
The movies of 2022 were amazing. Good year for films!!
I cried when that French soldier died
I cried when Paul's friend stabbed himself
I cried when Paul took his friend to the doctor only to hear "he's dead"
I cried when Paul died
All quiet on the western front deserves the oscar
I totally get that about people saying that they cried while watching avatar and I mean variety just showed just those scenes where someone was in danger and something like that but when I was in the theatres I was looking at that big screen and at the same time looking at such art I was thinking about life and stuff like that as well like someone has created this huge world of pandora out of thin air and just wonders of life and things like that and I was feeling these things on just random scenes of water and stuff like that , man I don't think I can explain what I felt throughout that run time because I watched it 1 or 2 months ago but what I felt then was priceless and again thinking about it right now some of that memory juise of feeling is coming back but it is not that raw right now when I will watch it again , I think I will get it back , avatar the way of water is something else man, just writing about this right now pheew!! amazing.
That's a very good question, Variety.
Actually a really good question to ask
Collin deserves it as well banshees was 🥺🥺
Aftersun made me cry twice, because it reminds me of my father too. It all appears to be like i goes dwn into that memory lane
An Cailín Ciúin (The Quiet Girl) cried into my mask and also like one of the Daniels did, cried talking about it to a friend
Great video1 I really was moved by them.
Aftersun was the only time I cried since I was a kid
The last Time was with the Whale, Fraser gives a broken heart to Charlie... That was powerful 😢💪🏽
It was the charge of the rohirrim for me “a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises! Ride now, ride now, ride! Ride for ruin and the world's ending! Death!” brought a tear to my eye.
Not one person mention the Whale?? I was bawling
0:42 to 0:46 🤣 love Brendan for years now I just love him more ❤️
Why they're all saying they cried over a plane movie? Because they had to fly to get there, so it would be their most recent movie.. These guys are artists, they're in touch with their emotions.
I love the white microphones 🎤
I finished watching 1883 and the last episode had me in tears 😭
The Fablemans went to watch it and cried in the 2nd half as Paul Dano tries to comfort Sam, went to watch the movie the 2nd time and cried my eyes out again.
movies are powerful
For me it’s EDWARD SCISSORHANDS or TOY STORY. Two films I saw many times as a child years ago.
Solid choices
Watched Hachi a couple months back with a friend.. we both cried like kids 😢
I have a recommendation for you (if you can find it) it's a Korean movie called "Hearty Paws" or "Dirty Paws" (different titles for different markets). It's a bit old. If you watch it, please let me know what you thought!!
@Mister Al Okay cool, I like Korean movies 😃
@@dublingirl1470 When we saw it, my wife and I were SOBBING!!!
Malala should win best actress.
Brendan Fraser, what a wholesome guy.
Brendan Fraser!!! He deserves this so much
I cried this past weekend watching Suncoast.
Last time I cried watching movie was The Last Samurai on Katsumoto's Death scene, and LotR RotK on " you bow to no one" scene.
recently watched these 3 buff dudes on utube reacting to Disney UP for the irst time and i got tears again.
For me, Unbreakable (2000) always gets me. "Now that we know who you are, I know who I am."
Let’s be honest, Brendan Fraser is just amazing!)
When I saw Aftersun, that movie was great.
I’m so proud of Brendan. I really hope he wins
what a great interesting video!
