Gus is right, however even when the bunker has evidence to make the correct calls the warriors don't receive it.
Clear bias against the Warriors, always has been, always will be. The Anzac game commentator even scoffed at the idea of playing an Anzac game in NZ, 1 of 2 countries it's supposed to represent. 2 years of sacrifice to be laughed at and mocked for wanting parity. The NRL is a disgraceful organisation.

Don’t usually agree with Gus but he’s bang on the money with this one, the bunker always looks for the 0.1% chance that a knock on happened or a pedantic obstruction happened, it’s becoming beyond farcical
And I can't believe I agree with him about something lol. His call that the bunker should only be used for the grounding of the ball is spot on. It's gone way OTT. It's the reason I rarely watch footy these days.

Graham Annesley has instructed his officials to have a benefit of the doubt attitude towards kick chase offside rulings. He said this recently in one of his weekly briefings. So why does this rule differ from grounding of the ball in the same try scoring movement where there is no benefit of the doubt applied ?? So many mistakes.

My rule of thumb as a referee myself, is if it looks like a try and there are no other factors to suggest otherwise, it's a Try.

Absolutely.! And a few years back 3 years in a row the cowboys were stiffed by things like 7 tackles, plain obvious knock on ( The hand of Foran) and the bunker can't rule on , or get it right... yet if Penrith or Roosters smell a try they will look for reasons to award one.
The braindead bunker called a play back on the weekend which was challenged by the players and the challenge was correct. Proves the bunker is just destroying the game.

If the referees are not in control of the rule book who the hell is? All this came from TV endlessly showing us replays during games of refereeing howlers, especially on try/no try decisions. So they brought in two referees, then the bunker for decisions, then the captain's challenge. Take all that away, they've already killed off one referee (welcome back consistent offsides), and we'll have a better game apparently. Maybe. But not if Gus' friends at 9 and Fox are allowed to go back to complaining about things the one lone referee misses.
They should take the bunker out of the game and let ref referee the game
The bias shown by the socalled referees, is one of the reasons I dont watch rugby league or soccer. Both sides cheat as do the refs. This appears to be condoned by the Australian managers of the game.

Why can’t we, before every game on tv, have the person or persons faces and their names, be shown. The same with the so called match review committee. Referees get dropped for horrendous calls , but the bunker boys are a hidden society

Even though a try was scored (miraculously by the Manly winger) the Canberra player who took out Parker when a try was basically certain, should still have been sent to the sin bin. Even with the try scored. It took away at least two points from the opposing team since it resulted in the conversion being taken from a much more difficult position. it was a sin bin offense and the fact a try was scored anyway, should not exonerate the offending player.
The grounding rule is a gee up
The moment I heard the ref tell the bunker blatantly that he doesn’t believe he is contesting the ball on the katoni tries is a robbery. What’s the point of the bunker then if the ref wants to change their decisions? It’s a joke
The joke is Kline got it wrong in the first place. Thank goodness Gee had the sense to have him have another look at it. Maybe Kline had a couple of hundred on Staggs scoring. How else can you explain the gross error?
@@michaelslavin1601 I’m not talking about the opinion of the incident im talking about the concept of the ref intervening with the bunker after he has referred it to the bunker. If gee didn’t believe it was a try he should’ve went straight to a penalty for obstruction because the incident didn’t happen in the goal area, it happened within the field. So it’s rigged on both sides

End of clip WHAT DO YOU DO WITH RADLEY. Robinson a few years ago came out and said the Roosters would not ask Radley to change his tackling technique. Let them suffer the consequences. Is Radley picked on? If the answer is NO then that is disgraceful. With his record he SHOULD be scrutinized. My theory on why the Roosters are struggling = When team leaders like JWH threatens a player on field to finish this in the car park and Radley constantly leaves the team a man down due to stupidity, then the LEADRSHIP is completely wrong. The team is told to be disciplined but then two of their highest profile and paid players pull that sort of garbage and Sam Walker gets dropped. Your mess Robbo. You made it. Clean it up.

My suggestion is keep what you are doing now but the bunker can only view replays in real time speed (no slow motion replays). This should stop all the nit picking and getting the wrong decision. Also in real time replays everyone will agree the decision made appeared correct, putting back the human element in the game. Slow motion replays are only allowed for try put down reviews.

After witnessing the bunker in action at the Adl origin game last night it was THE most boring process. The NRL head honchoes want to speed up the game yet they take 2 mins to make a decision...which is wrong despite video replays. It is ruining the post try celebrations of fans & therefore killing the atmosphere.
Warriors stand probably the last straw along with past teams agreeing.

Bunker is mainly to blame but also the commentary team. AFL commentators shut up and don’t give their opinion on everything. The main guy Kayo uses has a good voice but almost everything that comes out his mouth is wrong and he needs to see 3 replays to see what fans spot in live time

The sin bins need to be sorted! If i wanted to watch 11 on 11 every week I'd watch soccer. The less involved the refs are the better the game. It's being far to over reffed and it's just losing all it's joy. Why not ditch the bunker and have a replay screen on the sideline for the refs to check if they're unsure? That way the official with the feel of the game has the benefit of video replays too.

We just want fairness and consistency, they all could see the same play, but give 100 different rulings...just some fairness and consistency be nice, get on the same page people, we just want confidence in the officials...however, like the bounce of the ball in the game we must understand that they will make a bad call and we gotta live with it, but if they continue to make terrible decisions they must be held accountable,dropped re-trained and back up to standard...without the refs there is no game, so lets get fairness and consistency with no bias a priority for these guys and give them a little bit of support....its only entertainment at the end of the day...beleive me, ive had many a bad call cost me a multi, but thats how the cookie crumbles...and Warriors all day baby!!! Dogs titans game, dogs challenge three times for three overturns. That ref only had one agenda for 80min... The away team gets 8 penalties with zero supporters there to scream for one. Pathetic.

With the amount of AI (Artificial intelligence) we have available today and cameras on the game, we shouldn't need human intervention in the bunker. Its here now, ready to go! Abdo just needs to give it the green light. 98% of these incorrect human error calls will be fixed. Nothing wrong with the bunker. Its the human error factor thats ruining it. Take that out of the equation and I guarantee the bunker will work. We only need 1 official on the field. The touches do nothing and can be controlled by AI in the bunker and all available camera angles. Artificial intelligence can pick it all up and take all the guess work out of making the correct decision. Don't get rid of the bunker! Fix it!

The progressive creep of technology spoiling the game started and continues with the incessant whinge from print and television media who use their technology to highlight any error forcing the league to resort to using the same technology to remotely micro-manage the game. We have taken a simple game played by simple people and over complicated it. To name a few . . In goal touchies, 2 referees, microphones in ears and touchies flags, video replays, bunkers, captains challenges, extra reserves, golden point . . is the game any better for it?

Keep the video replay but get rid of the video referee. Every challenge, run out an ipad/tablet (whichever company wants to pay for sponsorship) to the actual ref OR let him watch it on the big screen. Basic engineering principle = more parts means more chance of a breakdown. Let the onfield ref live or die on their performance.
