Joe Rogan and Bruce Buffer are UFC classics! I'm positive they will be in the UFC hall of fame
I disagree with a lot of what Joe says outside MMA and think he lacks judgement sometimes. I don’t think he appreciates the responsibility that comes with a platform the size of his to try to ensure that things aren’t being said that are demonstrably untrue. But you can’t argue with the fact that he’s hugely popular with the demographics that are the biggest fans of MMA and gets eyes on the product. He’s also good at his job and has knowledge. Bruce is an absolute GOAT, way way better than his brother in my opinion. Did you see Michael at the last Triller card that he was on? I know he was probably really embarrassed to be a part of that mess but he could have put a tiny bit of effort in. I’m sure he was getting quite a hefty fee… probably thanks to Bruce! I think Joe is loved but some of the ex fighters are pretty good - Bisping especially. Felder and Cormier are good too. Laura Sanko does a great job on Contender and other shows I’ve seen her do so the UFC isn’t short of commentators. I’m more disappointed when Buffer is off. I can’t put my finger on it but there’s something about Joe Martinez that (undeservedly) annoys me. I like Justin Bernard though. I think it’s his casual wordage and starting sentences with ‘well’ a lot and things like that. He doesn’t get the fans amped up for the fight or make it seem like a big occasion. Of course, the very fact he’s there means that everyone knows it isn’t a big occasion.

From what I recall Rogan commentated for free in the early days of the UFC. He more than paid his dues in the business and earned the right to show late/leave early. Fook the haters.
I agree. And he also gives the sport valuable free publicity through his social media activity. But there was a time (way back) when I started to suspect Joe was doing the commentating high. Then, and only then, I was hoping they'd make a change.

Rogan's the best MMA commentator, and it's not even close. Knows when to talk, when to stay quiet and watch, when to do blow-by-blow, when to explain. Has genuine reactions to the action. Has the best insight - even better than most fighter-announcers, and can talk to the fans during his commentary, be they knowledgeable people who train or have trained, or simply fight fans, thanks to years on the mic in various settings. Social media is crap, it's fake. *PS - hats off to the champ Daniel Cormier for saying so (that Rogan is the man).

With Dan taking this fight he has given up his spot in quarantine to return to NZ. He now has no idea when he will be able to return home. The ufc really must have offered him a sweet deal for this fight.
