I owned the 2021 2.5 limited now I traded in for the 2024 limited & the difference are what sold it for me. The interior is cleaned up. The larger screen is awesome & the ride is far superior.. I highly recommend this vehicle.
Used Crosstrek have good resale values as well
Hey man how are you liking your 24 crosstreck im thinking of buying one but need another opinion. Thanks!
@@martinamadorr5284 well I’ve have it 1 year now. I absolutely love the new changes of the 2024 compared to years prior. 2.5 liter engine.. when I do the higher I put it in sport mode which gives it even more power. It handles smoothly. I have the limited so I have all the “ things” which I highly recommend. The interface is extremely easy to navigate. Things that mean something to me: smooth ride on bumpy streets ✅ safety features ✅ starlink is used in accordance with Subaru & here in my state they voted against the app & it’s not allowed anymore but if that is in your state it is AMAZING.. it is an extension of your car system regarding its health & any issues.. also can start your car with your phone app. Excellent gas mileage. Excellent visuals regarding no blind spots . I honestly love love my car. I have a medium gray with black trim. Very sharp looking.. I recommend you test drive . The only feature that is lacking is a power lift gate. It’s not available on any 2024’s. GOOD LUCK
The bird in the background the whole time 😂😂😂
Thanks for all the Subie content!
I sold my 21 TRDORP 4Runner and got a 24 Limited Crosstrek. I loved my 4Runner but couldn't live with the poor fuel economy anymore. I really dig the Limited and am glad I went with the Subaru over some over priced Toyota. It's got plenty of get up and go and I am getting like 35 MPGs on the highway. I think I got about 17 in the 4Runner.
Toyota owns 20% of Subaru so you kind of still got a Toyota
Hello frank how are you liking your crosstreck, I’m in the market of buying one right now and I need another opinion thanks!
0:44 sounds like you activated night vision when you turned on the headlights
This new cross track looks absolutely amazing I mean it still a cross track but the touches they put on the shape of the lines and a huge tablet screen and put in there come on I mean it for the money you can't beat that
I've got the 2024 Limited. After your first 1k mile break in, absolutely use sport mode if it's right for you. It's a world of difference compared to the intelligent mode. Truly a gem!
I just got this car today and let me tell you, it's amazing. Super advanced.
Thanks Ben for the reviews, I'm looking at Crosstrek's now!
Insane Subaru Ben !! ❤❤
The black paint looks way better than the orbis blue you reviewed
Great video
Very nice vehicle, my son-in-law in the army Just back from South Korea, just bought one.
especially at the end
I have a 2021, thing that kills me about the 2024 is that the 12 volt is so far back! Like why… now my radar detector cord is gonna be ridiculously extended
The yellow accents do look really great with black.
Enjoy your Car Reviews and looking to buy a Crosstrek in a couple of years for me when my son turns 16, passing down the Camry. Love the Sport but how can you get Subaru to Option the Harmon Kardon Stereo on the Sport, only avaiable on Limited & Wilderness(?). Seems Minor but only after buying 2023 Ascent with HK Stereo it's almost a must have though wasn't before cruising with it! They added Option to Legacy Sport in 2024 so fingers crossed for 2025 with your Influence?!?
Nice, I bought a Subaru ascent a few weeks ago I’m impressed with subie.
My 21 sport has great pick up. I love it we’ve had it for3 years.
The Crosstrek should be quick. It has the exact same 2.5 l engine as the bigger Outback.
meet and greet
you. know. so. much.
I owned a 2016. Low miles. In mid 2020 the AC crapped out from what the dealer said was a manufacturing problem. Recalls for the fuel pump and the cvt transmission. It was at 40,000k and just outside the warranty. Sucaru said sorry about your luck. Dealer said no, my original dealer said no. Sucaru Canada said too bad and also no. We could have worked out a cooperative repair and I'd still have the car, or possibly another one, which we had planned to do.
Instead I traded it in and will NEVER EVER buy or recommend a sucaru to anyone.
During this same period my son had an oil burner Forester. Track the consumption the said. They did. Sucaru rebuilt the engine and a year later the same shit. What was their answer? Sorry about your luck. Wouldn't touch a sucaru with a 10' pole.
Hi Ben, hope you can get a look at the 2024 Crosstrek Limited, specifically how is the new upgraded Harman Kardon audio and the leather seats?
I have the 2023 limited with the leather seats and it's way better than this. Plus better looking rims. It has a CD player also. The sound system sounds better with a cd I've noticed.
Black car wow wonderful
Are 2024 Sport & Limited being shipped to dealerships now?
Yes, my dealership in Austin, TX just received their first 2024 Limited last week. I placed a factory order for a Limited, which is estimated to arrive in Sept.
Good car❤
Great videos Ben. I’ve narrowed down my next car purchase to this Crosstrek or the 2023 Ford Escape select 2.0 Ecoboost you recently reviewed. If it was your money which vehicle would you buy? The Escape is a little bigger and really quick, but I’m thinking the Crosstrek might be better long term. Keep up the good work.
I was looking at the escape too, but if you saw they already have a recall on the hybrid version for potential engine fires… I wish the crosstrek had more power, but trusting Ford long term is a risk
Get the crosstrek sport or limited , this new generation handles way better than the previous I’ve driven both and just put my order in for this exact trim and color in the video
@@abonnie1 same im going with the the sport just ordered it in black can’t wait ! 😁
I have had the 2022 Ford Escape SE AWD Hybrid for 15 months and I’m trading it in for a silver 2024 Crosstrek Sport, it arrives in 2 weeks. I live in Idaho and like the almost 2 inches extra clearance, the superior AWD system of the Subaru for when winter hits here. Also, my Escape has had multiple recalls and the latest one saying the engine could fail, have metal on metal sounds and have oil combust starting the car on fire was the final straw. They also won’t have a fix until October…”maybe”. Then you need to wait in line for an appointment. Not the same motor you’re looking at but it comes from the same engineering team.
I think you should escape from the escape. I don’t see how that would even be an option! Get the crosstrek, you won’t regret
Crosstreks arent as slow as people like to boast about. My 2013 gets to 60 just like any average car. And i can cruise on the highway 5mph faster than everyone else without issues.
Good car
Only thing missing from a great vehicle is a device to EMP proof the electrical system! POMO
is the gold trim an option i can get rid of?
nope
Then dont get the sport trim lol. Get the premium one. I love the yellow accent on black.
Hi! I dont know if this is a thing or just the engine or gear but when im in drive and on full stop there is a vibrating sound i dont know where it come from, i dont know if this is normal or something but it annoys me sometimes. If there is no music u can hear it clearly
It’s the auto start/stop function you can turn it off, it’s at the bottom of the screen but you have to do it every time you get in the car
@@abonnie1 hi i dont think its that i feel like its coming from the hood when im on drive gear and full stop thats when i hear the rattle sound
@@mikelamar3029 uh oh, take it to the service center to have it looked at, good luck
"I don't think someone would take the sport package off-road" TF you on about, I will be doing just that!
I got a '24 Sport coming to me in August. After really looking at it, there's not much difference between the Sport and Wilderness trims.
Just ordered mine too in black congrats man!
Mine in Silver arrives in 2 weeks. Agree on the Wilderness comment. It’s cheaper to buy A/T tires then pay for the Wilderness package to get a half inch more clearance. Which I can also do for cheaper at the dealership. I think the tire change alone would be sufficient.
in my opinion i dont like the interior not physical buttons not good while you driving hard to switch all the stuff
But it has a crap ton of buttons on the wheel and the important ones still on the screen like volume, tuning and temp.
What happens in the winter time when you go out to go to work and your screen is inoperable? Bad decision on Subaru's part. I say offer a little smaller screen with three knob climate control. You can drive to work or a dealer to fix it without a radio, but without defroster working there is no way.
@@douglasporter5751 The cabin temp, front and rear defrost and seat heater physical buttons are there so what would prevent you from driving on a cold morning or a hot one or a rainy one? Oh wait I think what you’re seeing in the video is the protective film that covers the screen during shipping before dealer prep removes it. It’s hard to see the physical buttons that are actually there.
All of that is on the steering wheel, takes a bit of time to learn all the controls but will soon become second nature.......
@@douglasporter5751But how many reports of that have happened since this screen has been released in like the last few years?
the most ridiculous fee is the rear bumper cover - how much they charge for that sticker??!! what a rip-off
If you don't have to have a wagon, the WRX is a much better value. 35k MSRP for the premium and they are one of the few new cars selling below MSRP today.
Premium gas?
Does it have rear view camera?
Yes.
You did not mention that the 2.5 L engine Sport and limited trims are assembled in US. Whether this is an advantage or not, I would have expected to hear that from you.
Is it roomy enough for a 6'6" driver?
All Crosstreks sold in Canada are built in Japan.
@@philricci2012So nice to hear
I thought all Crosstreks were built in Japan?
@@thundergato84 Subaru built a factory in Indiana to supply 2.5 litre Crosstreks to USA. They are that popular.
Not bad for the price
does it have carplay?
It does. It had Apple Carplay and Android Auto
what does CVTish mean?
continuous variable transmission. Meaning it has less components for the gears than a standard automatic transmission. So while you are driving, your car will shift through gears more seamlessly making for a smoother ride.
If I did a 10 hour review I would not say the word, "stitching" one time. Am I the only person who cares about functionality over appearance? What about reliability? Skid plates? Clearance? Gas Mileage? Traction on ice? Things that actually MATTER!
THE BEST thing they could do with the CVT-- would be to JUNK the damn thing and get a GOOD REAL transmission.. and go back to full ASYMETRICAL AWD they use to make which was THE BEST in the industry--but they've f..d it up with this front wheel biases BS and braking the rear wheels crap..
Man, that screeching in the background! Did you have a hawk on your shoulder?! 🤦♂️🤷♂️
If CVT'ish isn't a real word it should be! We all know what you mean.
No third pedal option anymore for the cross trek. Sad not buying it.
The Sport never had the stick option. It was only available on the 2.0 base model with no Eyesite or other options and was actually slower than the CVT version.
Yeah and the take rate on the manual was less than 10%.
I see this comment a lot. Probably bad business sense to build a car that people think about buying but don't.
@@Das_Germaican the only reason why they don’t make stick shifts anymore in the US is because Americans are lazy.
And their sales will suffer.
Also, does he not know that the engine is virtually unchanged, except for adding 2 pounds of torque.
Didn't they also tune it for more of that torque at the low end.
@@markmyers4573 you’re thinking more of the wilderness model I believe. Which just like the Forrester has a different gear ratio for that yes and is a little bit quicker.. and even that model is not what you were called quick it’s just not slow
Max torque comes in at 700 rpm sooner, that and a couple other changes having more to do with NVH. Its pretty responsive along with the updated CVT and better sounding engine than its predecessor. I’ve got the ‘24 Impreza RS.
@@tpolerex7282 I have a 21 Crosstrek and test drove the new one. To say it has any more than a little bit more pep is a bit crazy or it’s simply because you haven’t driven one a while.
I hate that the climate control are in the entertaiment system. I think that is not practical.
buck ets
Slow down man, talk too fast..
He wasn’t a fan of the previous Crosstrek design, but loves this one that is by 80% the same as the outgoing lol. Ooook
It actually looks way better and sharper than the outgoing model.
@@JG90984 not at all trying to be rude, but how can you say that with any degree of common sense when it looks almost just like the outgoing model. I’m not sure if you wrote that incorrectly or if you’re just not getting the simple point her ?
@@MartyHarrison-cx4guall he said he wasn’t a fan of the outgoing model. And there’s design differences that make the new one look better. Better grille better taillights and headlights. Maybe you’re the one not getting the simple point.
@@JG90984 this isn’t worth my time, but I said what the heck I reply one more time. My original comment said it was 80% the same but he likes the newer one a lot better. For you not to realize why that’s a ridiculous statement I can’t help you there. Or worse off for you to claim that means I’m missing some kind of point. That’s just odd and nonsensical, considering my point was proven very clearly.. is this guy your dad or something?
@@MartyHarrison-cx4gu the only ridiculous, odd and nonsensical statements are the ones you’re making. And you’re the one who claimed I’m missing “some kind of simple point.” It’s obviously still the same iconic Crosstrek shape but it clearly has design improvements that make it look better. The previous model needed a face lift.
Meh
Sorry, speaking too fast with annoying background noise
Nice, I bought a Subaru ascent a few weeks ago I’m impressed with subie.
